Chapter 34 Chapter Thirty-Four
Morning comes and I groan. I am so not ready for this. I wrap my arms a little tighter around her, pulling her against me. I look down at Leilani who is sleeping peacefully. Hopefully she doesn’t hate me after today. I watch her sleeping for a minute, enjoying the quiet while I can. It’s going to be a very long day.
“Time to wake up Angel.” I whisper shaking her shoulder gently.
She groans, waving her hand in the air and I almost laugh. She is just adorable. “Come on baby. You have to get up. We have training to do.” I kiss her cheek and she groans again.
“Not yet. Ten more minutes.” She groans.
I sit up in bed, scooting back against the headboard. “I’m sorry baby, but it’s time to get up. You have a lot to learn, and you promised we would start first thing this morning if I let you take yesterday off.” I say, trying to reason with her.
Leilani sighs loudly and flips over on her back, cracking her eyes open to look at me. “Can’t we just go back to sleep. We can cuddle, or we could do other things.” Leilani whispers in a seductive tone.
I narrow my eyes at her. What a damn tease. If she wasn’t so young, I would have already had my way with her ten times over. She has too much on her plate right now, she needs to focus on her training and making her father proud. Hopefully she won’t need her to put her training to use for a few more years, but we have to prepare for the worst.
I lean down kissing her once. Just one quick peck on the lips. “I’m sorry baby, as much as I would like to stay in bed with you all day, we have a lot to do today.”
Leilani frowns pooching her bottom lip out in a pout. She is so fucking cute. I don’t even think she knows how hard it is for me to say no to her. Even saying no to something as small as staying in bed for ten minutes longer. “Fine.” She says huffing and I almost laugh.
I lean down giving her one more soft kiss. “Come on baby, let’s go downstairs and get something to eat. We have a long day ahead of us.” I say smiling at her.
“Are you going to be the one doing all of my training or is someone else going to be doing part of it?” She asks, and I can hear a little bit of panic in her voice.
I give her a reassuring smile. “I will be the one doing all of your training baby. Don’t worry. It will be just me and you.”
Her eyes light up with relief and she smiles at me. “Okay. I will get up and get ready.”
“Okay baby.” I slide out of bed and Leilani sits up, rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand. “Make sure you wear something comfortable, okay? It’s going to be a lot of running around, bending and you are going to need to be able to move easily baby. You don’t want to wear anything restrictive.”
She nods her head. “Sounds good to me. I would rather be comfortable anyway.”
I laugh at that. “I am going to go get dressed and I will see you downstairs in a few minutes Angel.”
“Okay Malakai. I will see you in a few minutes.”
With that I make my way out of her room, heading to my room. I change into a pair of gray sweatpants and a black T-shirt. She isn’t the only one that needs to be able to move freely today. We are going to be doing a lot of hand to hand combat training today and that takes a lot of maneuvering.
I make my way downstairs. Leilani needs to eat something. I need to eat something as well, but I don’t know if my stomach can handle it. I walk into the kitchen and Nova turns and smiles at me.
“Good morning, Beta Malakai. Can I make you something to eat?”
“Good morning, Nova. Leilani and I have combat training today, I don’t want her to eat anything too heavy this morning. It wouldn’t be good for combat. What would you suggest that is light but filling?” I ask, knowing if anyone will know what to eat it is Nova. She could be a professional chef at a five star restaurant if she wanted to.
She puts her finger on her chin, looking up at the ceiling like she is in deep thought. “Well, there are a couple of options we could try.”
I smile at her. “Let’s hear them.”
“We could do an egg white spinach omelet or when Alpha Tiberius wants something simple for breakfast, I always make him a protein shake.”
I think about it for a second. A protein shake is probably going to be the best option, it’s light and filling. She is definitely going to need to up her protein intake from now on anyway, so that will kill two birds with one stone. “Can you make two protein shakes please?” I ask and Nova smiles nodding her head.
She busies herself, gathering the ingredients and making the shakes. Leilani walks into the kitchen wearing a pair of tight athletic leggings and a matching athletic tank top. How can she look so sexy wearing that? It is kind of ridiculous how good she looks in everything.
Nova smiles. “Good morning, Leilani.”
“Good morning, Nova.” Leilani says giving her a smile.
A few moments later Nova walks over holding two cups with straws in them. “Here are your protein shakes.” She turns to Leilani. “Good luck today. You are going to do great.”
“Thank you, Nova.” Leilani says, pulling her into a quick hug.
I hold the shake up with one hand. “Thank you, Nova.”
Nova nods her head and turns back to what she was doing before I came down here and disturbed her. I turn to Leilani. “You ready to get started baby?”
