CHAPTER 155
[third person pov]
April's living room was bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun, but the atmosphere was far from peaceful. Chris, her soulmate and a werewolf, sat beside her, his eyes avoiding hers. Tyson, her best friend, lounged on the opposite couch, sensing the tension.
"Chris, you need to go back to Elenor," April said, her voice laced with pain.
Chris's jaw clenched. "I won't do it, April. I won't leave you."
April's eyes welled up with tears. "You're already leaving me, Chris. You're betraying me."
Tyson shifted uncomfortably, feeling like an intruder in their intimate conversation.
"April, I—"
"No, Chris," April interrupted, her voice rising. "You're married. You have a wife who's threatening to kill my family if I don't leave you alone. How can you do this to me?"
Chris's face darkened. "Elenor doesn't mean it. She's just jealous."
"Jealous?" my laughter was laced with bitterness. "You're mine, Chris. My soulmate. But you're choosing her over me."
Chris's eyes flashed with anger. "I'm not choosing anyone. I'm trying to protect you."
"Protect me?" my voice cracked. "By lying to me? By hiding your marriage from me?"
Tyson stood up, sensing the argument escalating. "Hey, guys, maybe we should—"
Just as the argument was reaching a boiling point, April's phone rang. She hesitated before answering.
"Hello?"
"Hey sweetie, it's Mom," Mariah's voice chimed in. "Your dad and I are stopping by I left my house keys there, We'll be there in 10."
April's eyes met Chris's, her expression cold. "That's perfect, Mom. See you soon."
As April hung up the call, Chris stood up. "I should go."
"No, stay," I said, her voice firm. "We're not done."
Tyson sat back down, sensing the storm brewing. “What’s going on?” Tyson questioned the call that April just dropped,
“Mom and Dad are back from the hospital and they are fetching her house keys. I don’t want them to suspect that anything is going on here, okay?”
The doorbell rang, signaling Mariah and John's arrival. April's heart sank, knowing she had to put on a brave face.
"I'll get it," Tyson said, jumping up.
As Tyson left the room, I eyes locked onto Chris's. "This isn't over."
Chris's expression softened, but April saw the guilt lingering.
April helped my parents into the car, ensuring they were comfortable. As she closed the door, she noticed Doctor Jonathan seating in the back seat.
"Hey, Doctor Jonathan, I didn't expect you to make house calls," I said.
Doctor Jonathan smiled. "I make exceptions for special cases, like your father."
"I appreciate that," l replied. "Do you have a girlfriend who's worried about you working late?"
Doctor Jonathan chuckled. "No, I'm single."
Tyson whispered to me, "We should follow them with your car. Mom will need it to come back."
April nodded and whispered back, "Let's go."
As they walked back to April's house, Chris stood up from the couch. "April, I'll come with you."
"No, Chris. You need to stay here," I said firmly.
Chris's face fell, but he didn't push the issue.
Tyson and April got into her car and followed her parents' vehicle to their house.
Upon arrival, they found Taylor lying on the floor. April's heart sank as they rushed to her side.
Doctor Jonathan quickly examined Taylor. "She's breathing normally, no visible wounds. Let's get her comfortable."
Mariah's voice trembled. "What happened to her?"
John's face was etched with worry. "I don't know. I was shot, and when I came to, Taylor was like this."
My eyes met Tyson's, filled with concern. They helped Doctor Jonathan make Taylor comfortable.
Taylor stirred, opening her eyes. "Mom...?"
Mariah hugged Taylor tightly. "I'm here, baby."
As Taylor sat up, April's mind whirled with questions. Who was behind Taylor's condition? And what did Chris know?
Doctor Jonathan monitored Taylor's vital signs. "She seems fine now. I'll keep an eye on her."
April's gaze drifted to her parents, grateful they were together and safe.
But the unease lingered, a sense that this was far from over.
Taylor started shaking terribly out of nowhere and a squel escaped my lips, I didn't expect that to happen it took me by surprise. She started shaking and Mom lost the grasp she had on her arm as she swiftly floated on her back in the air. The air got tense in the room as we were all taken back and confused on what to do to help her, first of all how do we get her down from floating without hurting her.
"I think she's having a Grand Mal Seizure, its the worst one and we should try to get her down from there. Let's hope the seizure stops and she regaines her mind back so she can seiftly come down." the doctor said, I looked at him in surprise. What does he mean we must stand, I looked at Dad. "Can't you do something? like get into her head and try to calm her down?" I asked my voice quivering in fear. "I tried that already and i'm blocked out, I can't get into her head." he said as he turned to look at me with a sad face. "Is that a good thing?" I've heard some people say that when someone can't get into your head its a good thing maybe it is. "In this state that she is in, its a very bad Here's the revised continuation:
Mariah rushed to her side, desperation etched on her face.
"Taylor, no!" Mariah cried, her hands grasping for her daughter.
Tyson and Doctor Jonathan froze, unsure of what to do.
Mariah's eyes locked onto Taylor's as she also floated, her voice filled with urgency. "Taylor, come back to me!"
Taylor's body remained still, her eyes closed.
Mariah's hands glowed with a soft, white light, as she focused her energy on Taylor.
"Mom, what's happening?" I asked, tears streaming down her face.
Mariah's voice was laced with determination. "I won't lose her. Not now, not ever."
The room fell silent, except for Mariah's gentle whispers, urging Taylor to return.
Suddenly, Taylor's eyes flickered open.
"Mom?" Taylor whispered, her voice barely audible.
Mariah's face lit up with relief. "Taylor, my baby!"
Taylor's body slowly descended, Mariah cradling her in her arms.
Doctor Jonathan stepped forward. "What just happened?"
Mariah's gaze met his. "Taylor's connection to our family's energy was disrupted. I had to recharge it."
My eyes narrowed. "Elenor did this, didn't she?"
Mariah's expression turned grim. "We'll deal with her soon enough."
The family's superpowers were now on high alert, ready to face whatever threats lay ahead.
