Chapter 149
I thought I made myself clear.” Gasant’s big voice said as he appeared from the dusty hallway. I took a quick breath, feeling my chest tighten up at the sight of him. He still looks horrifying as the last time I saw him with the enormous eyes with yellow orbs and the thick lips, and they extremely yellow teeth I can feel his hot stinky breath blowing into my face. “You thought you did, but the thing is I hate taking instructions from anyone, besides you can’t expect this whole thing to unravel on your own terms.” I said as I stepped back away from the house and stood on the front porch with my hands in my pockets. I have a black sweater on that has two pockets on both sides of my hands, one side has a gun and the other has a poisonous injection that will make Gasant lose his power and energy once I inject him with it.
“Well, you made things difficult, and you chose the difficult way to resolve this,” He said as he took the last step and whistled loudly, making me cringe in disgust as saliva dropped in his finger that he was using to whistle. The feeling of disgust cleared, and my brain quickly processed what had just happened and I knew he didn’t just do that to irritate me. He was calling someone. I looked up at him and he had on a mischievous smile as if he had just hit ‘checkmate’. I quickly scanned the woods for anything and used my werewolf's sense to listen. The sound of giant feet hitting the ground filled my ears, and I felt myself lose hope. I didn’t know for certain what was causing the sound, but deep down in me, I had an idea. A pack of werewolves, the only thing that could make the ground shake like that. I quickly tried to link my mind with Tyson’s, “Get out of the car and get ready to fight. Its werewolf’s.” I said in my mind. He heard me because I saw the car doors opening and everyone stepped out of the car. They kept looking around because now I didn’t need my werewolf senses to hear this horrible rumbling sound. I turned to look at Gasant but he was walking away slowly as if tempting me to follow him. I couldn’t leave my family to die in the hands of werewolfs when they know nothing about them. Chris will have to wait.
“So much about following the rules, huh?” I screamed after him as I turned away and rushed to my family. I took out my weapons and stood facing the direction that the vibrations were coming from. “This is the day we die, huh?” Tyson whispered to me as he came and stood next to me with nothing in his hands. The ability to move things with his mind was part of the reason he had no weapon in his hands. “Don’t you think if you died today at the hands of werewolves, that would be embarrassing for the future of our kids?” I said, whispering back to him, still gazing at the woods. I didn’t see anything coming in our direction. The rumbling kept getting louder, but there was no sight of any werewolves anywhere. Is this a trick? What will he gain by tricking us like this? “What children, April?” Tyson said, looking at me with a defeated look on his face. I chuckled coldly and turned to look at him. “Exactly, your journey in life is unfinished.” I heard a scream or a very loud groan coming, and I felt my insides freeze up. This is it and there’s no going back.
A fury brown big werewolf jumped over us and landed on top of the car that we were driving. I didn’t waste another second. I followed it and jumped on the car boot, retrieved my weapon, and started shooting. The bullets that I had in my gun weren’t bullets that I can use to fight werewolf, it was bullets meant for demons but something in mean told me they will cause the same damage on werewolves. I shot the first shot, and it stumbled back. The second shot and the third shot, the werewolf form, disappeared as a human being went falling down on the ground. I didn’t care I had a mate to protect, and they were interfering with something that had nothing to do with them. They were the ones standing between me and my mate. I turned to look where I left Tyson and all I could see was blood; it was everyone, and it made feel proud of my family. I wasn't aware they could defend themselves in the wilderness. After 1: In the past, I would always observe them and pass judgment on them as the family that couldn't even camp in the woods due to their lack of experience with hardships. I am now certain that we will be coming back with the love of my life alive and kicking. No one can defeat us.
Another werewolf jumped for me as it revealed its sharp teeth to me. I ducked, and it landed feet first on the ground. As the werewolf attacked, I swiftly injected its neck with the syringe in my hand, then hurried into the cabin to save Chris. I walked into the cabin with caution; I felt a sharp pain at the back of my head and when I touched it I felt the wet substance and I knew immediately that I'm bleeding, that’s the last thing I remember before I blacked out.
I woke up, and I felt heavy chains holding me down on my hands and feet. How could I have been so stupid to be taken hostage by this moron? ‘I shouldn’t have walked inside the cabin’ I scolded myself. I opened my eyes and Gasant was sitting in front of me on a chair with a big knife in his hand and a terrible smirk on his face. “It was so easy getting you to come where I am. The easiest part was getting you to bring your whole family so I can slaughter all of you,” he said in a deep voice, accompanied by an evil laugh. “That lying bitch.” I mumbled under my breath, feeling angry that I was stupidly played by Autumn. I should’ve known better because she has sold me out before. Because of my belief that you don't trust your little friend, I actually thought you wouldn't come. Turns out I was wrong.” He smiled as he placed the knife on my jeans and softly played with it, drawing random patterns while giving me a creepy smile. “I’ve never had an uncle before, but I am positive that you, as an uncle you aren’t supposed to look at your niece like she is some piece of meat.”
“You may see me as your uncle, but I don’t see you as my niece.” I felt so disgusted that my anger got the better of me and I spit on his face. I don’t know where I’ve been keeping that amount of saliva because it just sprayed all of over his face. If my hands weren't tied, I would've patted myself on the shoulder. He angrily stormed up from his chair and punched me in the face. An extremely hot pain flashed on my cheek and I thought a tooth may have moved from that powerful punch. “What do you mean, getting me here was easy? You don’t have Chris here with you?” he smiled as he wiped his face. “Back to business already? My kind of girl. No, I don’t have anyone here.”
