Chapter 76 You Are Sweet
Chapter 76 You Are Sweet
Those thugs were regulars at this bar, often hitting on women. The leader had made moves on countless women before, but the moment he saw Donna lift her head just now, he felt like he was falling in love.
"Lady, if you come with me, I guarantee I'll give you a good life."
Donna looked at his dry hair with some speechlessness. Even though he had deliberately dyed it yellow, it still looked malnourished, not to mention his skinny frame.
He couldn't even cover his own bills—how was he supposed to give her a good life?
"Sorry, I'm not interested."
This wasn't a good place to stay. Donna lifted her leg to keep walking, but the yellow-haired thug actually grabbed her arm, and when she tried to break free, he yanked her back hard.
"Don't be ungrateful. You should be lucky we're interested in you. Take her away."
The three men immediately surrounded her, while the yellow-haired thug stood aside watching the show.
Donna spotted an empty bottle by her feet. Without thinking, she picked it up and quickly smashed it against the wall. Glass shards scattered everywhere. Donna pointed the broken bottle at them.
"I dare anyone to come closer!"
Those thugs actually stopped in their tracks. The yellow-haired thug pushed them aside and spoke with complete disdain.
"You're already here at this kind of place, and you're acting all innocent? With your looks, who knows how many men have had you, and you're playing hard to get with me?"
Donna was panicking inside, constantly warning herself not to talk back.
But Donna's silence actually gave these thugs their confidence back.
"She looks so fragile. You three men can't handle one woman? Grab that thing from her and tie her to the bed. After I'm done with her tonight, you guys can have your turn."
Hearing the yellow-haired thug say this, the other thugs got bolder and slowly approached Donna. She simply steeled herself, closed her eyes, and started wildly swinging the broken bottle. This completely chaotic display scared them all back. It was said that the bold feared the reckless.
Wasn't Donna's current stance showing she was ready to go down with them?
"Damn, you've got some fire!"
The yellow-haired thug cursed, then turned to yell at his followers.
"What are you standing around for? Get her together!"
Just as he finished speaking, before those men could move, the yellow-haired thug was kicked hard in the back, sending him crashing through the other thugs toward Donna. She quickly dodged, but the glass bottle in her hand still cut the yellow-haired thug's arm.
The yellow-haired thug fell at Donna's feet. Seeing this as a good opportunity and ignoring the pain in his hand, he tried to grab her skirt. But Donna stepped right on his hand, making him scream instantly.
His followers immediately looked toward the instigator.
A man in a suit stood backlit. Even though they couldn't see his face clearly, they were intimidated by his powerful presence. They could tell at a glance this man wasn't someone to mess with.
So the followers quickly pulled up the yellow-haired thug from the ground and scrambled away from the scene.
Donna leaned against the wall. That last kick had used up all her strength. Now she was extremely weak, and the alcohol was hitting her again. Donna's vision became hazy. The moment she swayed, the man quickly came over and pulled her into his arms.
"You've really outdone yourself."
Edward had just put down his work and rushed over here. Knowing Donna had come to this place, he arrived just in time to see her surrounded by four men. Edward had been so nervous just moments ago.
Donna still held the bottle. Hearing this, she thought he was threatening her and tried to point the bottle at Edward. Fortunately, at the last moment she recognized his face. Edward smoothly took the sharp bottle from her hand.
Before he could get angry, he saw Donna in his arms suddenly start laughing. Edward took a deep breath.
"Do you still recognize who I am?"
Donna nodded with a smile.
"I do, my husband."
After drinking, Donna's cheeks were flushed red. Without her usual serious demeanor, nestled in Edward's arms at this moment, she looked so charming and cute, especially that word "husband" which pleased him.
Looking at Donna's state, Edward didn't need to think twice before picking her up. But Donna clutched his tie tightly.
"No, Luna is still here."
"I'll have someone send her back."
Donna didn't hesitate at all. After hearing this, she nodded and closed her eyes, leaning against his chest.
Edward carried Donna out. The driver had been waiting there. Just as he placed her on the seat and before he could get in himself, he heard Donna's soft voice.
"Go to Harmony Heights."
Edward hesitated for a moment, then got in and closed the door.
"Back to Grandview Estates."
The driver naturally listened to Edward. But when Donna heard this address, she immediately turned and grabbed Edward's neck.
"Where are you trying to take me? I want to go to my home!"
Harmony Heights was a property under Donna's name. She had originally planned to move there after leaving The Jackson Manor, but after marrying Edward, she never had the chance to live there.
"You're married now. Weren't you just calling me husband?"
Donna seemed to remember something. Her hands wandered restlessly over Edward's chest as she looked at him with a silly smile, showing her teeth.
"Oh right, I'm married now. You're my husband."
Edward watched as Donna's hands became more and more bold, having reached his abs. He quickly grabbed her wrists.
"Don't be so hasty. When have I ever shortchanged you?"
Having her hands caught seemed to make Donna a bit unhappy. Just as she looked up to question Edward, she saw his chattering mouth. Donna suddenly used her free hand to hook around his neck, pulled him down, and kissed him.
Edward's eyes darkened. He pressed down with his large hand, deepening the kiss. Just as he was about to go further, Donna suddenly pushed him away, licked her own lips, her eyes full of intoxication, as if still savoring that kiss.
"You taste so sweet."
Edward's gaze grew dark. Donna's innocent appearance before him made his dormant heart stir restlessly.
