Chapter One Hundred and Sixty-Eight - I Have Never Been so Nervous

Chapter One Hundred and Sixty-Eight - I Have Never Been so Nervous
Wyatt

I hardly slept last night. I was so nervous. I’ve never been so nervous in my entire life. I’m trying to hide it as best I can. I don’t want Alyssa to notice that something is wrong with me. You should keep them together for the next few hours. I’m trying not to worry, but I can’t help it. What is not going as planned in my head? What if we are not on the same page? I’m swirling again. I closed my eyes and took a few deep breaths as I listened to Alyssa come through.

I open my eyes and smile when I see her. She is wearing a cute white strappy summer dress that stops mid-thigh and hugs her curves beautifully. Her hair is pulled back in a high ponytail with shades on top of her head. She has a little gloss and mascara on. I love her natural look. She doesn’t need make-up.

“You look beautiful.” I compliment.

Alyssa smiles brightly at me. “Thank you, my love. You are looking good and ready for summer. I love your tank top; it shows off your sexy biceps and muscular chest.”

I am in shorts and a tank. It is warm here. I would have dressed more formally if we were somewhere cooler, but I would roast in a suit. It would have raised her suspicions.

“Are you going to tell me where we are going?” she asks, stepping into me.

I shake my head and laugh. “Nope, not happening. You will find out soon enough.”

It is a short distance to where we are going. She huffs and rolls her eyes at me. I chuckle and kiss her softly. “Stop huffing. You have no patience, kitten.”

“I have plenty of patience.”

“Come on, sweetness, we should head out.” I smile, offering her my hand.

She grabs her bag and takes my hand. I link our fingers, lift our hands, and kiss her knuckles. Today could change everything, but I hope any change will be good.

“Can we stop for coffee and breakfast?”

“Not on the way, but once we arrive, all of that will be available. We will be there in ten minutes. Can you wait until then for your coffee?”

She had a coffee not too long ago. She needs to get her caffeine addiction sorted out.

“I am sure I can wait until then.”

“Good girl. I promise you will have endless options once we arrive.”

I have made sure there will be many options for food and drinks where we are going, enough to do us all day since we will be out until later this evening. We chat and enjoy our beautiful surroundings on our stroll until we arrive at the docks.

“Are we going on a boat trip?” she asks, trying to contain her excitement in case my answer isn’t yes.

“No, not a boat. A yacht. I have hired a private yacht for the day with our own captain.”

Her eyes go wide, and her entire face lights up. “Oh my God, really?” she hushes, clapping her hands.

“Yes. I know how much you love boats and the ocean. There is a chance we will see dolphins, whales, sharks and other marine life.”

The more I listed off, the brighter her smile became. “Yay! I can’t wait. You are the best. I love you so much.”

She kisses all over my face and lastly my lips. I love it when she is happy and excited. It is all I need to be happy.

“I love you, too, beautiful. I told you, you would love the surprise.”

“Your surprises are always amazing. Are we allowed to go swimming while we are out?”

“Yes. The captain told me he can take us to a spot to do so. I made sure everything we need for the day, including for swimming, would be on the yacht when we arrived.”

I paid extra money to ensure these things were put in place. Glancing around, I found the one that would be ours. It is named Aura. I know what it looks like anyway. I finally spotted it and led us towards it.
The staff and captain appear to greet us instantly. Introductions are made, and we are led on.

“Would you like to eat on the lower deck or outside?” the captain asks.

“Outside, please. We will wait until we have left the docks.” I answer.

“Yes, sir. I will set up. If you need anything before then, please let one of my crew know.”

He disappears to start us up. I led Alyssa to the second deck. “We can sit here for now.”

She doesn’t argue me on it. Alyssa will happily sit and enjoy the view of the ocean. We settle down, and she snuggles into my side. “Thank you for doing this. I loved when we went out on our last trip.” She says, kissing my cheek before resting her head on my shoulder.

I slip my arm around her, kissing the top of her head. “I know you did, angel. It is why I chose to do this.”

Oh, Alyssa, only if you knew my real reason for doing it. We are soon heading for the open ocean. I don’t know how far we are going. I have rented it out until seven o’clock tonight.

“You know me so well, my love.”

She reaches up, kissing me softly. I place my hand on her cheek, kissing back in the same manner. It doesn’t last long. Her attention soon focuses back on the ocean. Her face always lights up when she is near or in the ocean. I watch her, watch it and smile to myself. Alyssa doesn’t ask me for much. Sometimes I wish she would ask for more, but it isn’t who she is. It is why I try to do as much as I can for her, because it doesn’t take much to make her happy. I take my cell out, moving back a little to snap a photo of her.

Alyssa looks over at me and playfully rolls her eyes. “Don’t you have enough photographs of me?”

I shake my head and chuckle. “Nope. I will never have enough. Get used to it, angel.”

She shakes her head too and turns away again. I need today to be perfect! I want it to be a day we will never forget and can tell our children about one day in detail. Alyssa deserves the best of everything, and I want to be the one to give it to her.
