Willow’s Veracity

Oh my! Goosebumps spread all over my body. Willow, just turn around and head to your class. You don't want to ruin this one and only chance!

I told myself and paced toward the class, stumbling and sometimes stepping on my own toe.

In the class our teacher, Mr. Logan Darkwood stood there before us, teaching us about the history, even more attractive thing than Vincent.

I turned around and quickly made my way toward the classroom, stumbling and occasionally stepping on my own toe. Inside the classroom, our teacher, Logan Darkwood, stood before us, captivating us with his lesson on history. His knowledge was even more captivating than the Vincent for me.

As the class settled on their seats, Mr, Darkwood began with "Ladies and gentlemen, today we delve into one of the most fascinating eras in history—the Renaissance," his voice carrying a hint of excitement.

"A time of rebirth, creativity, and cultural revival, the Renaissance brought about significant changes in art, literature, science, and politics."

"And yet, amidst the grandeur of the Renaissance courts and the brilliance of its artists and thinkers, there lies a hidden history—a history of remarkable women who defied the constraints of their time to leave their mark on the world," Mr. Darkwood continued, his voice taking on a reverent tone.

He went on to recount the stories of women like Catherine de' Medici, and Elizabeth I, highlighting their intelligence, cunning, and resilience in the face of adversity.

As he paused in his lecture he looked at each one of us asking "Can you name a woman during the Renaissance period, wielded significant influence behind the scenes of royal courts and political affairs?"

Suddenly, a student blurted out, "Yes sir, Willow Goldstein, the great grandmother of the famous social media developer!" He quickly hid his head, hoping not to get caught.

The teacher responded with humor, "If anyone can translate what he just said because I don't speak 'woof woof,' so please do so." The class erupted into laughter.

While the other girls in the class were busy trying to impress the teacher with their hair-twirling and seductive eyes, it was hard to blame them.

After all, Mr. Darkwood was not only handsome but also seemed too young to be a teacher, almost like a fellow student.

Everyone was always questioning his youth, and also he had only moved here last year and perhaps started teaching out of necessity.

Nevertheless, I confidently raised my hand and caught his attention. "Please, Ms. Goldstein," he acknowledged with a nod.

Standing up, I responded, "Isabella d'Este, Catherine de' Medici, and Elizabeth I were renowned for their intelligence, cunning, and diplomatic skills. They skillfully navigated the complexities of power and intrigue, leaving an indelible mark on history.

Their stories inspire me to delve into the untold narratives of women in history and the significant roles they played in shaping our present world." I delivered my answer.

"Oooo!" The class echoes with noises.

"Very well said, Ms. Goldstein," he remarked, his voice echoing throughout the classroom. "It is important to recognize the often overlooked contributions of women in history, particularly during transformative periods like the Renaissance."

Turning his attention to the rest of the class, he scanned the room, observing the students lost in their own thoughts.

"As historians, it is our duty to uncover these hidden narratives and shed light on the invaluable contributions of women who helped shape the course of history," he continued, his words falling on deaf ears.

"Their stories provide us with valuable insights into the complexities of power, gender dynamics, and societal norms of their time."

Mr. Blackwood paused, allowing his words to sink in, before offering me a warm smile.

"Thank you for your insightful contribution, Ms. Goldstein. Your passion for history is truly remarkable, and I encourage all of you to follow her example in exploring the roots of our history."

"Of course, starting tomorrow, I will tie my hair back tightly into a yellow ponytail," The same guy spoke again.

"I still don't understand the 'Woof woof!' Okay I'll see you all tomorrow!" Mr. Blackwood smiled at me, and left the room.

I turned around and realized that Vincent was still staring at me, just as the other guy's words reached my ears, "Mighty Willow Goldstein, the WWE champion!" The boy finally made his way toward the center of the room.

"Stop it!" Vincent exclaimed, standing up and pushing him away.

"Boooo!!!" Voices echoed throughout the room.

Vincent took hold of my hand and led me away from the room filled with mean-spirited students.

Should I feel upset about being insulted in front of everyone? Or should I be happy that my fingers are intertwined with my forever crush?

"Are you alright?" he asked, staring into my eyes.

My heart raced in my chest, making it difficult to maintain eye contact.

"I'm used to it," I whispered, my voice trembling.

"Let me know if you need anything," he smiled at me, and just as he was about to leave, he turned back and looked at me.

"Are you free tonight? My friends and I are having a party at my place," he asked hesitantly.

"Are you inviting me to go with you?" I asked nervously.

"It depends on whether you'd like to come," he scratched his neck.

"I would love to, but I don't have anything to wear," I bit my lip.

"Oh, you're perfect just the way you are. You don't have to worry about a thing," he reassured me with a smile.

"But they might make fun of me," I admitted, feeling genuinely scared, shaking a little to be honest.

"By now, you should know that I'm here for you, and I know how to handle a few troublemakers," he winked.

"Then I'll come," I smiled.

"I'll be waiting for you," he kissed me on the cheek and left me.

"Damn! Did that truly happened to me?" I thought as i touched my cheek.

I found myself lost in my thoughts as I made my way into the house.

I greeted my mother with a hug, twirling around with her in excitement.
