CHAPTER 063

CHAPTER 063
«TRISTAN'S POINT OF VIEW»

A day—it had been a day since I was locked up in my room, unable to contact anyone anymore because my bag had been taken away. As I sat on my bed with my elbows pressed on my thighs and my body leaning forward, I couldn't help but worry and fuss.

Impatiently, my legs tapped on the floor, and my thumbs throbbed against each other. What was the meaning of this?

The pain in my body was barely gone, my head was still bandaged, and the pounding in my head wasn't helping. I exhaled slowly, dragging a hand down my face. What the hell was Dad planning now?

Suddenly, my head snapped up when I heard voices, and I sharply stood and went over to the door, wanting to bang on it again, but it was useless because I had been doing that earlier. But as my hand twisted on the door handle, it opened without effort. My eyes widened. When was it unlocked?

I didn't stay there to contemplate as I slowly walked out of the bedroom. With steady and quiet steps, I walked down my empty hall till I got to the stairs, and the voices became clearer. I immediately recognized my dad and Sean. My heart nearly leaped out of my chest. Sean was here. What was the meaning of this? I decided to stay put and just listen.

My fingers curled around the railing as I leaned slightly forward, trying to catch every word.

"What have you turned my son into, Sean?!" Da started, his voice sounding mad.

"Your son chased after me. What made you think I turned him that way?" Sean's voice came out tiredly; it was as if he was being forced to speak.

"He wouldn't have turned out gay if you hadn't approached him. I know you, Sean, and I know what you do when you like something."

Sean sighed. "Dan, I did not come for this. Just let the kid go. He's not a child anymore; he can decide his future."

For a moment, silence followed his words, thick and tense. I held my breath at the top of the stairs, my heart pounding loudly in my chest.

Dad laughed sarcastically. "Impossible, not when I'm alive. I won't let my son be a faggot, especially not with you."

"Are you still on this? I thought we passed this, Dan."

"Pass what?" Dad's voice came out threatening as if he was taking a step forward, and I could imagine his hands balling into tight fists. "We can never be past that when it was your fault I turned out like this, it is your fault I hurt Angelina and Tristan."

Angelina. I knew that was the name of my birth mother. What had she got to do with what they were talking about? Did he really kill her as he claimed? Was my dad really the monster he showed on my arrival?

"You have an obsessive love disorder; how is that my fault? You torture those who are just like you because your object of obsession rejected you, calling them faggots when you are also one," Sean countered.

His words hung heavily in the air. Was my dad gay? My mouth fell open at the thought. He had an obsessive love disorder. What was the meaning of that?

"I am not gay!" Dad gritted his teeth, and I nearly shivered at the venom that dripped from his voice.

"That's what you like to tell yourself," Sean scoffed. "But I know what you have been doing behind our backs. Does Tristan know you murdered his mother, and she didn't die in childbirth as you told him?"

The information didn’t make me gasp. Instead, I stayed still, listening quietly.

"It was her fault; she pissed me off chasing after you. She knew you belonged to me, yet she didn't stop being a brat; I had to take her out." He laughed out humorlessly. "And now, it's her bloody son, trying to take what's mine. They keep trying to take the same thing that belongs to me."

"Even after all these years, you are still living in that delusion of yours. I never knew we had anything together," Sean sighed. "Just like what I said before, I did not travel from California to Canada for this chat. Let the kid go, and I promise, you won't see him again. I'm pretty sure he doesn't care for his share of his father's wealth. I can always give him what he wants."

"Over my dead body would I let my son be with my object of obsession."

A quick sound and the noise of something crashing against the wall were heard. I peeped my head down a bit, and I could make out the way Sean had Dad pressed against the wall, his hand gripped on his collar tightly.

"Listen, Dan, what you did to Angelina, I could look past because it was her fault she died, chasing after things that didn't want her. But if you touch Tristan, I swear, I won't hesitate to kill you, you know I'll do it. Don't test me!" Sean gritted, his voice coming out deadly and dangerously low, sending a chilling feeling through me.

Slowly, I retreated. I didn't wish to see more, but as I wheeled but came face to face with Dean standing behind me with his arms crossed over his chest. I ignored him and tried to walk past him, but he grabbed my forearm.

"Dad used to be in love with Sean, and he has an obsessive love disorder. You can't be together because I will have him; just let him go already. Trust me, I will take care of Sean way better than you've ever done before. I can please him better."

What fucked up family.

With anger, my sharply reeled and I could feel how bloodshot my eyes were. I jerked my hand away from his hold, and with that same frustration, I shoved him on the chest harshly, but his hand slipped off the rail of the staircase, and he stumbled. My eyes widened as I tried to take hold of his hand, but our fingers only brushed together, and I watched as he tumbled down the long staircase, rolling until he hit the floor below, and his body remained there, unmoving.

I stood still, frightened, until I saw blood pooling around his motionless body.

"DEAN!"

The loud, ear-splitting scream bolted me out of my trance, and I saw my stepmom standing behind me with her hands over her mouth, staring at her son lying in a pool of blood. Sharply, her dead gaze went over to me.

"YOU KILLED HIM!"

Instantly, she raced down the stairs and reached him, and when she lifted him onto her lap, indeed, Dean looked dead. I felt my heart nearly rip out of my chest as it beat rapidly, fear swallowing me whole.

"SOMEONE CALL AN AMBULANCE! " My Dad's voice echoed as he and Sean arrived at the scene, and instantly, his grey eyes met mine.

My heart dropped.

What have I done?
