Fights
Fights
Mark's POV
It's been a week since the birth of Mason. I have been helping Gray, I would let her rest most of the time. I really don't know how I would've managed five kids on my own except to get a nanny. Watching my two younger kids as I sit in the lounge and bottle feeding Mason in my arms. Most of my kids look more like me, except for Weston and Mason.
Reggie will be dropping Jordan off at home after his football practice and Lana wasn't at school today. I just had my hands full to even force her to go.
"Dad, I miss grandma." Scarlett says as she sits down next to me on the sofa. She held Mason's little hand.
"I know you do." I say.
"So where is she?"
"She has a new home in Heaven." I say. Mason is falling asleep.
"What is Heaven like?" I smile because this brings back memories. Gray asked about Heaven when she was little. I never thought that I would be explaining it again to my kids. Here we are, talking about it.
"It is a place-" the door opens and Jordan walks as if on a mission up the stairs and Reggie enters. Jordan never does that.
"Hey, Jordan got into a fight at school." he says.
"F^ck." I mutter under my breath.
"Daddy, language." I forgot that Scarlett was sitting next to me.
"Go play with your brother." I say to her. Weston is playing a board game all by himself on the ground. Scarlett gets off the sofa and she joins him.
Reggie takes a seat on the recliner. "I wasn't there to see it happening but the poor guy is not taking it well," he says.
"I will check up on him. I wonder what happened that started the fight. He is always okay here." I say.
"Well, I will leave you to it then." he says as he stands up and leaves.
I get up and I walk up the stairs but I hear an argument. "Why am I the target in your mess?!" I hear Jordan say.
I stop in the doorway of Lana's room. "I moved schools because of him, I was bullied and it's not my problem that dad didn't move you either." Lana hisses at him as she remains seated on her bed, her legs crossed.
"What the hell is going on?" I ask as Mason squirms in my arms and I look down at him as he begins to cry. Gray is asleep and I don't want her to wake up unnecessarily.
"What is going on?" Gray asks from behind me, I guess their argument woke her up. She took Mason from me.
"I am trying to find out. Take Mason. I bottle fed him but he needs to sleep." I say.
"Okay." she says and she walks away with him. I turn my attention back to my two kids in front of me.
"What is the story?" I demand.
"The guy on the football team that she liked punched me in the face and I fought back. He wants Lana's phone number and he wants to see her. He said that if I do not give him the phone number he will continue to punch me every day until he has it. I will not be bullied, dad. Lana was f^cking too weak to stand up for herself." Jordan vents.
"Watch your mouth." I say through clenched teeth.
"You say it all the time." he says.
" It's my word, you do not have to say it and you are young for it." I say.
" I'm fourteen," he says.
"Just listen to dad." Lana chimes in. "Why don't you give him Sternpoint?" Lana asks me.
"I am training you, I chose you, no one else." I said, glaring at her. She looks down at her hands.
"She gets everything and I get the punches." Jordan says as he walks past me out of her room.
"I believe that you have many kids, you should think about them too for business," she says.
"I won't change my mind, it's final," I say and I walk away from her.
Gray's POV
Mark enters the nursery as I put Mason to sleep. "What happened?" I ask.
"Jordan got into a fight at school. He is upset but I will speak to him later when he has calmed down. Lana clearly has her own issues with me." He says as he moves closer to me.
"Sternpoint" I state.
"Correct."
"I know that you want her to take over the business, but for years I have been telling you that you need to allow her to do what she loves." I say.
"Well, when she has the business, she can add and change whatever she wants. My mind won't change." he says.
"I tried and I can see that nothing I say will change that." I sigh.
"Things will be okay." he says.
"I hope so."
"We work hard for them, we have achieved so many things over the years. I almost you and I don't want any arguments regarding business. That will be between me and Lana." he says.
"I never thought that you would be the type of father to be this way towards your daughter, who just thinks about himself." I say as I put Mason down in the crib.
"What does that supposed to mean?" he glares at me.
"It means that you are forcing me to do what you want, dad." Lana says as she stands in the doorway. "Stop controlling that part of my life, I would rather take mom's business than be working for someone like you", she says.
"Lana, nothing is changing. Do not piss me off than what I am right now." he says through clenched teeth, and he walks out of the nursery.
All that Mark thinks about right now is the business. But he is hands on with the kids. I do not like the way that he is controlling Lana with her future. I always thought that he was controlling mine years ago for a while. But not to this extent with our daughter.
