Deep mess
Jayden POV
My heart keeps thumping heavily against my chest, as I opened the tons of messages, but got nothing. Wait! Is this guy trying to play a prank on me or what? I know Leon can be very crazy, but doing this is totally out of it, right?
I made to drop my phone, and that was when a notification popped on the screen of my phone, as something caught my attention, there's my name on the notification. Letting out a soft sigh, i clicked on it, to read everything, and almost froze on my spot, as i was welcomed with the shocking news of my life. 'The popular billionaire and business tycoon, Jayden Oscar, is reportedly an item with Mae Curtis, the only daughter of the popular billionaire, mr Curtis, and the heiress of the Curtis empire. Below is the detailed news'.
"What!" I exclaimed with a widened eyes, as i stared at my phone in shock and disbelief. Wait! Is this some joke or something? Like I don't understand. With a trembling hand, I clicked on the details, and I almost cringed, as I was welcomed with the picture of I and Mae, when we were kids. For goodness sake, how the heck did this got to the media? This girl is messing with me, I know this has something to do with her, and I'm going to make sure i make her pay for this.
"Shit!" I cursed under my breath, as I dropped my phone, and buried my face in my palms. This is driving me crazy, I'm already going through alot, why add this to my problems? What the heck does she want? Is she thinking that telling this on social media, would make me.... oh shit! I don't even know what to say.
The sound of my ringing phone jolted me out of my deep thoughts, and letting out a deep breath, I tilted my head to check who the caller is, as I was welcomed with the company's security number. Why the heck is he calling me now?
Reaching out to the phone reluctantly, I swiped the answer button, and held the phone to my ear.
"There's a problem sir, please you need to come down to the first floor now." He sounded worried over the phone, and the call got disconnected immediately.
"Hello... hello... are you there?" I said on the phone, and when I got no reply, I stood up and rushed to the door, before storming out of the office. Stepping out of the office, I headed straight to the elevator, and stepping in, it closed, and I waited impatiently for it to get to the first floor. I couldn't just wrap my head around the whole thing.
After what seemed like forever, the elevator door finally opened, and I stepped out, before walking through the lobby, and straight to the door, which opened on its own, as soon as I got close. Stepping out of the company, my eyes widened in shock, as I was welcomed with the most horrible and scaring sight of my life. Standing behind the bar gate, trying to force their ways in, are many reporters, looking like they want to devour someone. Oh God! I'm in a deep shit, and I don't seem like I can escape this.
"Mr Jayden can you answer this question? What do you have to say about the chaos on the internet?"
"Mr Jayden, do you really have something with Mae Curtis? For how long has it started?"
"Are you in a relationship with her, to strengthen the bond between your and hers, or it's just base on business agreement?"
"Answer us please mr Jayden." They kept throwing questions at me, as they keep trying to force their ways in, but thankfully, my securites were around to help me out. This is all bullshits!
"Please answer us, we're not leaving until you give us an answer." One of them said from the crowd, and I couldn't help letting out a scoff, wait! Is this some joke or something? Are they being serious about not leaving until I give them an answer.
The sound of ringing phone distracted me, and reaching out to it, I found dad's contact on the screen, and without hesitation, I picked the call. Who knows, maybe he'll be able to help me out of this deep mess. I just need to take care of this, as for the news, I'll take care of it later.
"Hello dad." I said sharply.
"Hello Jayden, I just saw the news, and the reporters at the company, just tell them it's true, we'll fix it later but for now, you need to clear that mess." Dad's voice sounded through the phone, and without even waiting to hear me out, the call disconnected.
Staring at the screen of my phone unbelievably, I couldn't just believe what he just said, that I should.... oh cmon, he can't be serious, right? Does he even know what he's trying to make me do? Does he even know the implication of it? Why is my days jusy going bad lately? Why is it that each time I think that I'm taking care of a trouble, the other and bigger one, always surfaces? I'm so damn tired of this whole nonsense, I shouldn't have come here in the first place, I should've just paid someone to take care of the company instead, but then, I can't possibly blame myself, right? Dad have no one else, I am the only family he has, and he needed me, so it was never a crime, coming here, right?
Closing my eyes briefly, I threw my head back, as I tried thinking of something, if I could get another way to fix this whole shit, but the more I tried thinking of something, the more my head seem blank.
Letting out a soft sigh, I opened my eyes, before heading close to the gate, with so much, playing on my mind. I know what I'm about doing is not funny, and can put me in trouble, but then, there isn't any other way. Telling them there's nothing like that, they would have me prove it, and I'm not ready for that nonsense now.
Once I got to them, I pursed my lips, my heart beating fast, as I stared at their desperate and anxious faces.
"I and Mae are...."
"Excuse me sir, your attention is needed inside, I'll take care of them." Came a voice from behind me...
