Chapter 9 9

Chapter 9 9
Alpha Knox~~

The four empty bottles lay on the floor before me. I had drunk myself to a stupor, hoping to forget all that transpired between me and Phoebe last night, yet the memories were still fresh in my mind.

I still hadn't realised how she had happened to survive it, when I knew so well that no woman survived it with me.

Last night, she had put me in that tight position, arousing my wolf more than it couldn't resist, until the only option left was to claim her, or marking her would lead to our death. That lustful feeling did not sit well with me, but I still craved to drill her damp pùssy hole.

She was tight, as though a virgin, but I knew I had broken her for a long time, so nothing like that could suddenly happen. Hearing her wince in pain while I thrust her continuously made my chest ache, even as I was drowning in her thick juices.

I was stunned when her groans of pain turned to moans of pleasure, her pùssy hole stretched and accommodated me more, so slippery that I didn't think to let go. Even after she passed out, I still didn't let go until I was able to take control over my wolf and let her be.

She was breathing when I took her to my room, but I was scared she wouldn't survive till morning, and she stunned me.

What happened? It was good to know that she was alive, but how did it go about? Why did the other ladies die when they passed through the same thing? Hers was even more painful than theirs, yet she fought it through.

My wolf snapped in my head, and I gritted my teeth. He'd been regretting everything he did to our mate last night and wanted to apologise, but I wouldn't let that happen.

‘What if it's because she's our mate? Could she heal us of this madness?’ my wolf said, and I shook my head bluntly.

It wasn't possible when she was the cause of our madness. If we didn't meet her and fall for her, we wouldn't be going feral gradually, so there was no way she would heal us.

I was lost in a discussion with my wolf when Levi mindlinked me.

‘Alpha, she is working with the slaves. Any more things to do? Should I check the borders?’

I hissed and grabbed the fifth bottle of whiskey, ‘Do whatever you want. I'm not in the mood for pack affairs.’ I responded and pushed open the bottle. ‘I hope the mistress doesn't take it lightly on her.’

‘As though you meant to make her your whore. Weren't you the same person whose body itched because another man was going to claim your mate? If you're going to be cold to her, then quit blaming yourself and still care about her.’ Levi retorted, and I wasn't in the mood to shun him, because he was also right.

I hated that my mate was the daughter of the family I was after.

Even though I didn't want to meet my mate due to the curse on me, I couldn't resist falling for her charm when we met each other. The bond was so strong, more like pulling us together, so I would turn to ashes later on.

I didn't know I would live to take vengeance on her parents, but it happened. And while planning everything, I would say it repeatedly that my mate wasn't to be hurt no matter what. I told my men to take her in, if I eventually die before that time, because they would attack the family as well.

But since I was still living after I achieved my aim, and knowing that she would hate me for doing that to her family, I also needed to be cold to her so she doesn't think I was nothing because of the matebond.

I thought making her my whore would make me start detesting her, thereby making me fall out of love with her and be my real self, but it rather irritated me, and my wolf tormented me for having another man touch our mate.

Luckily, she escaped…But I still didn't change my mind. I knew she wouldn't accept that so easily, but she sneaked into the basement last night, which I didn't expect, because I was waiting to hear about the trouble she caused.

Levi had thought killing those three men before her eyes would make her loyal, so more wouldn't die, but I think nothing changed.

So, since she survived last night, I thought having her choose her part of suffering would be better. Deep down, I knew she would choose to work with the slaves instead of being my whore, and I pray it happens, so my wolf doesn't end up taunting me to death out of anger for sharing our mate with others.

What I just didn't want was for her to live freely like nothing had happened between us. She was only alive for two reasons, even though it doesn't change the fact that she came from that dirty family.

It didn't matter if she hated me so much, so long as she would strive to live, at least for her people. But one thing was sure; she and her fucking people wouldn't leave my pack even if I had to die anytime, because they also belonged to those three persons who turned to ashes in the furnace…and this was the only easiest way of paying for being acquainted with those three deceased rulers of their pack.

The moment I emptied the fifth bottle of whiskey, I stood and began leaving my office.

My wolf insisted we go take a look at her in the field, and when I saw her chatting with a lady who never turned to face me, I felt a bit relieved that she preferred it there.

She didn't get to see me, because I was hidden. But with the way she was sniffing her nose into the air, I guessed she inhaled my scent and was looking around for me.

I left the field and returned to my room, opened the fridge to grab a can of chilled water, but I noticed something was odd. A lot of bottles were missing, including the juices and energy drinks.

The fruits were still intact, even the packaged meals in there.

What happened? Who checked my fridge without my order? Whoever it was didn't fucking scared and took so much that I had to notice. But apart from my beta, Levi, no one else knew my passcode.

I mindlinked Levi, still trying to be sure I wasn't drunk and not seeing clearly, ‘What happened to the drinks in my fridge? Did you sell them? How did someone have access to my room?’

He hesitated before responding, ‘Alpha, no one had access to your room…’

‘What are you talking about? Then you took them all?’

‘I didn't. I really didn't!’ His voice seemed to be nervous. ‘The thing is that…’

I scoffed and shut the fridge, ‘Produce those drinks, or I'm sacking you!’ I retorted and cut off the link instantly.
