Chapter 27 27

Chapter 27 27
Phoebe~~

Just like Angeline advised, I set off that night to the club without being reminded. I didn't enter that lady's room again and had locked myself up. Thankfully, only Knox could know the passcode of every entrance.

I hid the drug Angeline had given to me and reached out to Levi myself to take me to the club. Well, I didn't expect him to drive me alone without every other guard like in the past, so I thought it would be good if I grabbed that opportunity by asking him some things. “What's her name?” I asked him, and just a glance at me, he understood who I meant.

With a smile, he said, “Vivienne!”

I nodded and made a straight face. “Is she really going to be Knox’s Luna? I think I heard her mention that, and then Knox also said she shouldn't remind him of it until he decides it's time. Not sure if I heard well, but it seems there's something confusing going on…” I narrated, not expecting him to speak up immediately.

And of course, he didn't respond until we reached the club and he parked the car. I was about to alight when he locked up the door from his end, causing my eyes to fly open. “Beta?!”

“I don't want her to be Luna, and my alpha doesn't want to either,” was his response, and so I sat back, wanting to hear him well, even though I knew it was of no use to me. “She's given the task to make my alpha fall for her. If she succeeds, then she will be Luna. Otherwise, she won't be any and would leave the palace. I wanted to discuss this with you.”

I rolled my eyes. What business did I have with it?

He turned to look at me and shrugged his shoulders, “You might end up as Luna too if you can help me do this.”

“What?” I didn't know when the word left my lips.

“Don't let her succeed. Make my alpha fall for you instead,” he said again, and my breath hitched. “It doesn't matter if you love him back or not. My aim is just so that Vivienne leaves the palace and does not become a thorn in the flesh of my alpha. Whatever you want in return, I will do it for you.”

I froze sitting there. I didn't see this coming and didn't even know how to go about it.

Did he not know that his alpha would go feral if he fell for me and would die if he marked me? If he knew, he wouldn't be saying this.

Come to think of it, this could be an opportunity for me to achieve my aim. If I succeed in making Knox fall for me, then that would be the beginning of his destruction. He would regret not giving a chance to the woman who craved that position so well, and by that time, it would be too late.

I licked my lips, gazing back at Levi. “But I'm that lady's servant, and she seems not to like that I'm your alpha's mate. She is bound to hurt me irrespective of Knox’s warning, and I'm scared Knox would support her if I did challenge her.”

He shook his head, “He isn't like that. His orders are meant to be obeyed regardless, so make sure you don't disobey…..

“What kinda disobedience are you talking about? What if I disobeyed her because something's gonna hurt me?” I asked him, and he rolled his eyes.

I simply wanted to know if I was okay with the action I had taken on that lady this noon.

“If it's gonna hurt you, then don't do it. Remember, letting yourself be hurt is disobeying my alpha.”

And I recalled Knox’s warning that instant.

“What about having other servants? Why am I the only one serving her? It's too stressful.” I frowned, and he chuckled as though it was funny. “So, if I'm going to do this, you must make sure that she has other servants aside from me. Also, you must tell me everything that your alpha likes, right from his meal, hobbies, and so many of them. That way, I would know how to make him fall for me so easily.”

He nodded and then said, "I'll get back to you about this. Thanks for agreeing to help.”

To him, he must think I was doing it because I still had feelings for his alpha. But deep down, I couldn't wait to watch that demon go to ashes. When he begins going feral, his people will have no choice but to have him killed so he doesn't attack anyone.

Maybe…just maybe, I would achieve more than his death, and have his people suffer too.

I alighted from the car and went into the club alone. I entered the room where the attendants always waited, and they welcomed me warmly.

By the time it was time for my first client to be attended to, I entered the room where I had always stayed and sat like an expert in this game. The man showed up and seemed delighted to see me. “Mind having a drink with me?” I said after exchanging pleasantries and he shrugged his shoulders. “Then I'll get it.” I bowed to him and left.

I just needed to steal their trust first, so they'd think I was so loyal.

When I returned to the room, the man was already half naked.

I served the drinks before us and filled the glasses. But before handing him over, I said to him, “What about heading to the bed so we can begin this outright?”

He rolled his eyes, looking so amazed, and then nodded.

As he turned, I quickly dropped a little of the liquid in his glass and hid it back. After he sat, I grabbed the glass, stirred it without him noticing, and then handed it over.

“I've never met a whore so loyal like you.”

He even mentioned me as a whore amid his compliments. The audacity!

I flung my hair to the side and forced up a smile. “Of course! I have a good record here.”

“But I've never heard of the whores here wearing a mask. You're actually the first one to attend me wearing this.”

That instant, I felt my soul leave my body. My plans must go as planned, so I first glanced at his glass of wine, and he had sipped half of it. I chuckled, “Maybe we should discuss this after tonight. What do you say?”

He nodded and drank more from the glass.

I emptied mine before he did, and then stood and walked up to the mirror. I pretended I was tying up my hair into a knot while slowly glancing at him and wishing that the drug would start working already.

Soon, he asked the expected question. “I feel so sleepy? Could you wait until I wake up? I'll just take a nap…”

A smirk crossed my lips, and I nodded. “I do not attend to a man the whole night. So since I'm going to do this, you'll pay more for being this loyal to you, Sir.”

“Wow!” he said and slumped into the bed.

I turned and took a good look at his face, and the man was peacefully sleeping, so I slowly undressed him quietly.

As we agreed, I waited behind, but I lay beside him, pretending to be asleep.

Hours passed. In fact, the night became longer than expected, and the man didn't wake up. One thing struck my mind; I hoped he wasn't dead from there.
