CHAPTER 42
Hale glanced at Diwata as he drive his car. He knew everything that happened, Diwata told everything to him. She was quiet but he could read the extreme sadness in her eyes. He was worried about it. He didn't think that Lee's family would do such things.
They killed Diwata's parents just for money. Many people are really dazzled by money and selfish. Not thinking of other people’s feelings, just like Lee, he knew that Diwata was still young and young-minded but he didn't care because of his personal desire to get the wealth of the Roa family.
He grabs Diwata's hand. She looked at him. Her eyes are sad.
"Everything's gonna be alright baby," he said softly and kissed her hand. It forced her to nod.
When they arrived at the village, he opened the car door when they were in front of his house.
"Are you hungry?" he asked but Diwata just shook her head.
“I have no appetite,” she said. He knew that because of what had happened thats why she had no appetite.
"What's your plan?" he asked Diwata. He pulled it out and they sat on the couch.
"I don't know Hale, to this day I still can't believe that Lee and his parents can do that to me. I'm fool... "
He hugged her quickly. She cried in his chest, he knows that she was hurts so much and he feels that but she is still a very good person because she even gave Lee a chance not to imprison Lee's mother for the sake of her son. Diwata is a very good person and he has nothing to say but the stupidity of people who only use it for their own interest. She has a heart of gold. He regrets why they didn't meet right away, it wouldn't have had to go back to that Lee Amielles, it would never have been hurt like this.
He just rubbed her back when it started to sob.
"M-mommy. D-dad ..."
It was as if she was going to cry because of her cracked voice. The pain of hearing her voice full of resentment, he knows how much she misses her parents. He feel her pain, it's as if his heart is being squeezed. She doesn't deserve this kind of pain. Why all of the woman in this word, why Diwata?
He just let her cry in his arms. They stay at the house all day, he no longer went to the office even though he had to take care of something there. He didn't want to leave Diwata in this situation. .
They slept side by side and he did not leave it.
The next day they woke up because of the doorbell. It was one after the other so he easily went outside. He was even surprised when he saw Lee's sister there. The younger one.
"What are you doing here?" he asked crookedly here. She just woke him up and he was still pounding.
"Leerah?" said Diwata from behind him.
"D-diwata..."
Lee's sister looked behind him to see where Diwata was.
Lee's sister's eyes were sad so they were surprised.
"W-what are you doing here?" Diwata repeated his question earlier.
"My brother is gone," she said. Diwata could not speak because of what the woman said. Tears welled up in her eyes. He looked at Diwata and he was also shocked from what they hear.
"He died last night," Leerah said with a bow.
———
Diwata didn't know what her reaction would be because of the news Leerah brought to them. Only yesterday she was still from the mansion and only yesterday she also found out everything. He didn't think that Lee would be died that night. Things are happening so fast. Why he didn't fight?
She swallowed as she looked at Lee's sister. She loosened the gate open and hugged it. She agrees better with this than Lee Ann. Leerah cried on her shoulder.
"S-sorry Diwata. S-sorry ..." she sobbed.
"Shh! Thats enough Leerah..." she said while stroking her back.
"It's our fault. Maybe it's our karma because of what Mom did to you. Forgive us Diwata!"
She just kept shaking. She knew Leerah didn't like what her parent had done.
“It’s not your fault Leerah, I know you don’t like what happened,” she said.
"My brother Lee, he's just there in the old house we're going to bury him there. We're leaving your mansion. We're going back to our old house," Leerah said.
"But I'm not letting you out of there,"
"We'd better leave there because we're not the owner of it. Another thing is that my mother is very guilty of you. I just came here to let you know what happened and to give it to you."
She looked at what was in Leerah's hand. That was the key to their house.
Leerah handed it to her.
"Take this Diwata, I'm leaving too," Leerah said and didn't wait for her to speak. It has already left. He chased after it but Hale stopped her.
"Don't chase her anymore, Diwata. Let her go," Hale told her.
"But—"
"You need to take a rest. Eat first. I know you want to go to Lee's funeral. I'll join you there," Hale said. Thanks that Hale understands her. Somehow she still wanted to see her ex -husband. They also had an relationship even though it hurt her. There were times when it was still good to her, it was just that he was blinded by temptation. She didn't know if Lee really loved her or if he only loved her because of money. Perhaps it was because his parents wanted him to marry her, if he really loves her it should not have deceived her.
"Come inside," Hale said and guided her back inside the house.
She sat down with her whole face covered.
“It so fast, he didn't fight,” she told Hale.
"Maybe because it was enough for him that his parent admitted their sins to you. Maybe he's tired too and he wants to rest," Hale said.
He prepared her milk and fried rice.
She kept the key to her parents' house before she ate.
