WHAT ON EARTH?

Oceana's Pov.

Hearing those words from Adolph kind of made me feel bad, I hate to admit it, but he was right.

"Yeah, why do you think he got married? Listen I know he is doing this to protect himself and you, Carmine also cares about you, he really is a good brother. If he was a heartless jerk, he would have gone to your father, become disgusted and expose the both of you, he is quite understanding, just appreciate that about him.' He sighed. "You are quite lucky, you know, at least you had someone to talk to, someone who knows your secret but I didn't have anyone to share my burden with, that's how lucky you are, Oceana.' he softly uttered.

I was moved by words, it melted my heart which made me hug him, but my stubborn self refused to admit that Gerard was indeed doing the right thing to protect, I wish he took the risk instead, maybe we would have probably been Romeo and Juliet.

I pulled away from him with a sigh. "Cut the crap, I hope and swear Carmine will go through the same thing I did and I can't wait to see his ugly face."

Adolph laughed.

"Not funny, Adolph," I said.

"Maybe he will go through the same thing anyway."

"What makes you think so?"

"Jessie." He teased me.

"What happened to Jessie?" I frowned.

"Haven't you noticed the way she looks at Carmine?"

"Huh!' I reacted in disbelief, what the hell is he saying?"

"You haven't noticed that Jessie is into your brother, you must be quite dumb, princess?"

His words took me by surprise and bothered me at the same time.

Jessie can never be in love with my brother, I knew her so well and she is my best friend. Even if she was in love with someone else, it would not be any of my brothers, she knew her boundaries.

"You are mistaken, Jessie isn't like that.' I reasoned. "She is my best friend.'

"I know she is your best friend, if you don't believe my words that means you don't know her that much then, just as you never knew Gerard was your mate since you were a child."

I was startled. "What do you mean by that?'

"Do you want me to tell you?' he smirked.

"Yes, I need to know.'

The next day, my parents invited me for breakfast. I made an attempt to reject the offer but I decided not to because of my father and I don't want him to ask me unnecessary questions which will get me frustrated.

My parents ask questions nonstop like some detective interrogating you for a scandal and wouldn't give up until they get to the root of the problem.

I don't have the strength for that sort of topic.

I still got questions about Gerard's wedding after throwing a bouquet at him. I had to lie and tell them I got sick and only threw those flowers to congratulate them and wish them happiness and for them to live long in love and peace.

"Are you insane, how could you do such a thing out there? Do you realize the damages you have caused young lady, do you think hiding yourself in your room all day is going to solve the problem? What is wrong with you, Oceana, you are an Alpha for crying out loud.' My mother went on and on about my actions, I knew she was right but this is my problem.

This is between me and Gerard, no big deal.

"I'm sorry.' I apologized.

Even though I could sense my mother's expression that she didn't believe me, I didn't care and went on with my lies.

I got to the dining table the next morning with my maids escorting me after wearing a red tight revealing gown and walked barefooted, which is what I quite preferred anyway with silver beautiful chains on my leg.

My feet were quite beautiful with sparkling red polish, my nails included but it was white and I bleached my hair white to look even more attractive and put on some light makeup, a red lipstick with a sprinkle of perfume, I was looking so lovely and quite gorgeous.

I mean, you know, who wants to look simple when you can look stunning, you got it, you flaunt it.

I knew all eyes were on me, so I loved the attention I was attracting, especially from Gerard.

I sat down on the chair arranged just for me as the maids pulled it back and I didn't know what to say but acted like a well respected princess, even though I dressed like a model…

And my parents were as attractive as ever.

I made sure I avoided Gérard's expression at the dining table to make it more alluring filled with tension, though I knew he was starting to eat, and then I began eating the pasta which was well prepared.

Jessie was there too with her elder sister, looking glamorous as always

When did they come to the clan, anyway?

"You look so attractive my daughter," My mother seemed pleased and admired me from head to toe. "And so beautiful, this dress brought out your curves, your future husband wouldn't be able to take his eyes off you.'

"Thanks, Mother.' I murmured with a smile.

"Wow, you bleached your hair, it's beautiful and it suits you more than your red hair.' Jessie exclaimed.

"Thanks, Jessie.' I forced out a smile and looked over at Gerard who wouldn't stop staring at me and I was kind of happy about that.

"Welcome, princess Oceana, you look lovely.' Emily beamed, however, I ignored her, acted like I didn't hear her, I didn't have her time, she must have been embarrassed and that served her right.

She should stop acting like she owns the place just because she is married to Gerard.

Anyways, glad I dressed myself up, I didn't want to look like some depressed vegetable in front of them, especially Gerard and his wife, I loved his posture.

"But she is still beautiful with her red hair though.' Carmine added but I just rolled my eyes at him.

"That's the beautiful daughter I gave birth to, none of my children are ugly." My father said with pride and also acknowledged me, went close to my mother, and kissed her on the lips. "All thanks to my beautiful wife here who gave me adorable children.' His gazes were filled with passion.

My mother laughed. "Not in front of the kids, dear.'

"Hey, father, we are still here and some of us are single.'

Everyone laughed, except for me.

"That's why you have to get married as soon as possible, so you can enjoy what I'm receiving from my wife.' My father chuckled.

'Exactly, he is getting old, Father.' Alex giggled.

"Hey, shut up little lad.' Carmine butted in.

My mother joined in. "But it's the truth, your brother is not lying, you need your mate by your side, he's already a man preparing for the future, can't you see he has found his mate already.'

'Exactly, a handsome Alpha like me.' Alex beamed with pride and I felt like throwing my fork at his stupid face.

"That's right.' My mother laughed, Carmine chuckled and raised an eyebrow at him. "I hope you haven't started touching your mate at this age, you wouldn't wanna be a father at this age like the handsome Alpha you claim you are.'

"Come on, brother, I can control my hormones, trust me, I'm not like those perverts out there, I'm a well-respected Alpha in the whole realm and everyone loves me for it.' I could imagine it, seeing his nose swelling and getting long with a bunch of lies on top of it, what an act.

"Oh, really,' Carmine smirked. "How old were you again?'

"Have you forgotten my age, my brother, I'm so disappointed in you, how you forget your younger brother's age, that's not fair.'

I knew Carmine remembered his age but he just wanted to pull his legs. "How old are you, don't stress my head." He emphasized as he rolled his eyes at him, taking a sip from his coffee.

"I'm thirteen.' He replied confidently.

"Weren't you the one I saw kissing Lucy on the mango tree three days ago, the blonde little princess.'

"Huh.' He reacted with shock.

"You better don't stick your dick into her and get her pregnant, she is still young or else I will have your head."

Everyone burst into laughter at how Alex's face turned bright red.

I focused on my food, dismissing their chattering, eating not knowing what it tasted like, if it was sweet or bad, I don't know, but just kept stuffing the pasta in my mouth.

I suddenly just lost my appetite seeing these two in front of me and how Emily kept feeding Gerard in his mouth as if they were the only lovers in the world.

"We are all gathered as a family today, I am so excited to see all of you because it is a great honor to see all my children getting married and all grown up, it felt like it was just yesterday you were brought to the world." My father preached and I could hear laughter from him and the rest of them as well.

What were they laughing about anyway?

I know they were praising him, he is proud of being a father to us, blah, blah, blah, blah, and all, but I was just not interested in all that.

"I'm so happy seeing all of them as well." My mother added. "They are all grown up, living a healthy life, and about to get married, our reputation, and generation is the greatest of all and I can't wait to meet my grandchildren if only I will able to see them right away, I will sincerely appreciate it and my shout will be the loudest in the whole of the realm, making people gasp with envy."

My father laughed. "Yes, the Alphas and elders of the council will be so blessed to see how high, powerful and mighty we've become in the realm."

"Yes and no one will dare defy me in this clan." My parents laughed at their words, I took the fork and kept digging into the roasted chicken, absentmindedly.

"That will be great, after all this clan is the best." The witch, Emily added with a smile, I don't want her to get on my nerves but ever since she got married to my brother, I began hating her so much and my feelings grew even more with envy.

I know I shouldn't loathe her but I can't help it, she stole my mate.

My mother turned to me. "Do you like the food?''

I was about to reply when Jessie spoke the words I will so much loathe to hear. "I love the food, Emily is a great cook.'

"Wow, you cooked this?" Carmine quizzed with excitement.

"Yes," she laughed. "Glad you loved it, Alpha Carmine.'

"You are such a great cook.' He answered cheerfully.

"How is it? I was indeed right that she is a great cook.'

My mother smiled, agreed with Carmine and at that moment, I pushed the food away from me in annoyance.

"I don't like it, it tastes terrible and shows a lack of ingredients, prepared in a haste.'

"What.' She muttered surprisedly and her expression just made me even angrier, like I didn't know what I was saying.

"Yes," I firmly admitted. "It is very horrible. Didn't your mother teach you how to cook? How did you even get Gerard's attention and get married to him with this thing you call food, surprises me.' I emitted sarcastically.

"Oceana.' Carmine whispered, but I ignored him and went on. "If you had learned how to cook properly, I wouldn't be so bored and lose my appetite.'

"Hey, Oceana, that's so rude.' My mother scolded me. "What on earth is wrong with you?'
