Chapter 212 Abducted.

Chapter 212 Abducted.
Heaven had truly never seen this look on Maverick’s face before as he listened to the heartbeats of the twins. She could swear she saw his eyes get teary.

“Are the babies okay?” he asked all of a sudden. “She ran all the way here.” He cursed himself for that idea; he would teach Collins a little lesson later.

“They are doing absolutely fine. Do you want me to record the sound for future listening?”

“I think he would love that,” Heaven said.

Maverick didn’t let her walk out of the hospital on foot and carried her out.

“Maverick, you are creating a scene. I’m not crippled, just pregnant. Besides, I have had Liam before. I’m not fragile…” she whined.

“You should eat more. Pregnant with twins and you are so light. I should ask the doctor what’s edible and what’s not.” He turned back with her.

Heaven found his reactions cute. “Maverick, I’m a doctor. I know that already…” she said.

He paused, ignoring her. “I will just hire a live-in dietitian.”

He took her to the car. He draped the seat belt and didn’t like the fact that it had to cross over her belly. He felt like it was pressing down on them.

He pulled out his phone. “Can I get a car suitable for a woman pregnant with twins?”

Heaven’s mouth went agape when she heard him. “What’s wrong with this one and the other ones?”

“Nothing? I want two custom-made, please. There should be an alternate version of the seatbelt instead of crossing over the belly. Please, I want it done and delivered ASAP.”

Heaven face-palmed herself.

“Maverick! I forgot I was supposed to pick the kids up.”

“What are you hiding from me, Avi?” Liam asked.

“Nothing,” she said, pouting but looking anywhere but him.

Her mother said she couldn’t tell anyone, not even Liam. She felt bad not telling him, but it was for the better.

“Liar,” Liam said, walking towards the opposite direction to go wait.

Havilah bit her finger. Was Liam angry with her? She padded over to where he was.

“Liam, don’t be angry with me… it’s just I have to not tell anymore right now. But I can tell you later,” Havilah told him.

“Is it something bad?” he asked her.

She shook her head. “It’s just a way to—”

“Brother Liam, I’m hungry. Where is mummy?” Rebecca said, holding her stomach. She was exhausted from playing in the playground.

Havilah opened her bag and handed a snack.

“Thank you,” she said.

“Uncle Maverick!” Rebecca called out.

Havilah smiled widely. She hugged Maverick. Maverick ruffled Liam’s hair. “Where’s my mama?” he asked, not as elated as the others.

“In the car.”

“Mummy!” Rebecca curtsied like she was taught in her class. She had been believing and putting into action everything she was taught in her class.

“Hi, baby,” she didn’t dare move because Maverick had warned her strictly.

“Mama, are you fine?” Liam asked.

“Munchkin, I’m fine. How was school?”

Liam looked from Maverick to his mother.

“Fine.” He knew something was up, but he would find out.

“Havilah, how are you?” The girl who had stayed quiet, playing with her hands, looked up. Maverick looked at Heaven, thankful.

“I’m fine, thank you,” she said.

“Mave, let’s take them to have a little fun at the amusement park.”

“Tomorrow I will have someone take them. You have done a lot today. You need to rest,” Maverick said.

Havilah lay in her room. Her father had read her a story, but she had only pretended to have fallen asleep. When the door closed, she opened her eyes.

Her phone rang. She took it.

The next day was Saturday. The kids were prepped up and ready to go to the amusement park. Rebecca was excited. She babbled on about how her teacher had said it was a place for good kids.

Havilah smiled from ear to ear. She was exceptionally jittery despite her laid-back mood in the last few days.

Liam was nowhere close to excited. He was just worried about his mama. He knocked on her door. There was no response. He pushed the door open and got in. He saw his father carrying his mother out of the toilet.

“Mama, are you sick?” he asked worriedly.

“I’m fine, Liam.”

“Mama, are you dying and not telling me? Why is he holding you? Yesterday you couldn’t walk—he still had to carry you…” Liam said as he broke into tears.

Heaven wiggled out of Maverick’s hands. His overprotectiveness had given Liam the wrong impression.

She bent down and hugged him. “See, I’m standing. I can walk perfectly fine. I’m not dying,” she placated him.

“Then why is he carrying you?” Liam said, not believing.

Heaven bit her lips.

“Your mama is pregnant, and she needs every rest in the world,” Maverick decided to help out, noticing she was having a hard time saying it.

Liam looked at his mama. She was scratching her head. Then he touched her stomach. He didn’t know how to feel about it yet.

“Okay,” he said, wiping his tears. “I will go get ready for the amusement park.” He said, then left the room.

“Do you think he is happy?” Heaven asked. “I should just go after him,” she said, standing up.

Maverick held her back. “He just needs time adjusting to the information. The time out will be enough. When he is back, we can talk to him again.”

Heaven’s eyes still lingered on the door.

They arrived at the amusement park. Rebecca chose the merry-go-round. She held onto the horse as it moved around. The servant that had tagged along took pictures of her.

“Liam?” He turned to her. “What would you like to play?”

He pointed at the roller coaster.

“But we have to be this tall,” she pointed at a person waiting, “to be able to use it.”

“Sadly,” he said.

“How about there?” Havilah pointed at the haunted house.

Liam turned to Havilah. “You want to go there? Are you sure you won’t be scared?”

“I can go anywhere as long as you are there, Liam,” she told him.

Liam called the bodyguard, indicating that they wanted to go over to the haunted house. He accompanied them while Rebecca stayed with the servant.

Havilah was visibly scared while Liam was unfazed as they passed through a dark spot with scarecrows. When they got to the second stage, which had Egyptian mummies wrapped scarily, one appeared all of a sudden. The kids with them suddenly bolted in different directions.

“Liam, I can’t do this… let’s go back,” Havilah said, almost tearing up.

They began heading back. Suddenly, a hand pulled out of one of the coffins and dragged Liam into it. Havilah screamed and passed out.

Heaven had just woken up from a nap. She had crazy morning sickness but felt a little better. Her phone pinged. She picked it up.

Her body locked. Her entire world collapsed.

Liam was tied up and put in a big old wooden trolley.
