Chapter 203 Liam is home II
Chapter 203 Liam is home II
Butler Rose stepped inside, her face tight.
The two servants gasped.
Another person followed; it was the matriarch, Eleanor.
“Repeat what you said again?”
They dropped to the floor in fear.
Eleanor had asked Butler Rose to prepare the snacks, but she had been too elated to see her grandson and decided to do it herself.
Butler Rose tried to sweep the whole thing off. “Madam, they sometimes just want to gossip—”
“Repeat what you said now!” Eleanor cut her off before she could complete her sentence.
“Ma’am, I walked in on the second young madam and the Edwards’ family chauffeur… holding each other, and I heard him say the little miss was his,” the servant explained again.
Eleanor gasped. She turned and left the kitchen.
Butler Rose moved forward and dropped a hefty slap across the servant’s face; her head whipped to the side.
“You both decided to go against the rules of this house by discussing matters you shouldn’t. How dare you!”
They panicked and fell at her feet. “We… we are so sorry… we would never… try it again…”
“There won’t be a next time. You are fired.” Butler Rose turned and left the kitchen.
She brought out her phone and called her son, Killian. He needed to leave the country ASAP now. No matter how many times she called, nobody answered.
Maverick arrived at the Richards’ mansion. Havilah, who was always babbling with him, didn’t. She was quiet all through the drive, even with the gifts Maverick had bought to make her happy. He sighed.
There was no way he and Eva would remain together, and he wasn’t going to let his daughter stay out of his sight. Havilah would get used to it. In the future, she would understand.
He lifted her out of the car.
Heaven, Samantha, Rebecca, and Liam were headed to the stables to see the horses.
“Liam?” she called, unsure, until she looked again. “Liam!” Havilah called out happily. She wiggled herself from Maverick’s grip and padded over to meet him.
She reached him and wrapped her hands around him like she always did. Liam’s ears turned red.
“Liam, you are in my house?” she said.
“You missed school. Why?” Liam asked instead.
“Mummy said I couldn’t go.” Havilah pulled back a little to look at his face.
Maverick was shocked to see Liam here because he thought Heaven would make a scene before bringing him here. Their eyes locked as he walked toward them.
Heaven looked away, her hand instinctively rubbing her stomach.
“Liam, this is my daddy,” Havilah said as soon as Maverick was close enough.
“Daddy, this is my friend Liam,” she introduced.
Liam stared deeply at Maverick. The little boy held the stare longer before speaking.
“Nice to meet you, Havilah’s daddy.”
Maverick felt something squeeze inside him. He needed to tell Liam the truth. He was his father too.
“Brother Liam, are we not seeing the horses again?” Rebecca asked, bored.
Havilah didn’t want to get on the horse anymore. She had even forgotten she was sad a while ago, and her mood changed.
“Liam, I will show you my horse, but I won’t ride it because I hate it. It’s so scary. I don’t like it at all.” Avi pouted, swinging Liam’s hand.
“I thought you claimed to be brave. I wouldn’t have accepted being your friend if I knew you faked it,” he told her, his other hand in his pocket.
“You said you are a man and not a boy the other day, but my grandpa said men don’t take back their words. Liam, did you lie?”
Samantha laughed low. Liam shot her a glare. She loved seeing him tongue-tied, and the little girl had a way of doing it innocently.
“No, I didn’t. I am a man of my word,” Liam said with a poker face.
“Don’t worry, Liam. I will not be afraid anymore because I know now you are here, you will protect me.” She smiled.
Maverick listened to his kids interacting, but his eyes remained on Heaven, which made her suddenly aware of his presence.
At the stable, the horses were brought out for the kids to see.
A pure white stallion neighed loudly, stomping her hooves on the floor. She wanted to be released. The stableman thought she was getting violent, and with kids in the ranch, it was dangerous.
When Heaven lifted her head, the horse grew even more excited and reared up.
“Let her be. She won’t hurt anyone. She just wants to greet her owner,” Maverick said to the stableman. The horse was released.
“Rosalia,” Heaven said as the horse nudged her face with her nose. Heaven rubbed her body. “How are you? You still remember me?”
The horse nudged her happily, sniffing her. Heaven saw her answer in her eyes. “I missed you too.”
“Mama, you have a horse and you never told me?” Liam said, heartbroken.
“Sorry, baby. I also forgot I had one.”
Rosalia looked at the little boy, then back at Heaven. Then she bent down and nudged Liam. She turned, and a smaller horse—a Fusaichi Pegasus, midnight-colored with a mix of white—came forward.
Heaven quickly understood. Rosalia wanted to show her she had a baby too. Heaven rubbed the little horse’s head, then turned to look at Maverick as he rubbed the body of his midnight Fusaichi Pegasus.
He shrugged. Both the owner and the horse knew how to get ladies pregnant, irrespective of their forms.
“Liam, that’s your horse,” Maverick said. “His name is Castro. Introduce yourself to it.”
Liam’s eyes went wide. “It’s mine? Really?”
Maverick nodded.
“I will teach you,” he said, pulling Baximus.
Liam followed him, pulling Castro.
Maverick wanted to tell Liam the truth, and this was the best opportunity, because his son wasn’t leaving this home after stepping foot here.
The stableman taught Havilah and Rebecca, while Heaven and Samantha watched.
“I’m pregnant,” Heaven said casually, brushing Rosalia’s hair.
“What!” Samantha screamed before clamping her mouth with her hand.
“Does he know?” she asked.
Heaven shook her head. “Sam, this is not the right time, really. I don’t know what to do. He is married, and I am married. His brother could wake up any moment now. How do I even say that to him?”
Samantha sighed. “Are you going to take it out?”
