Chapter 163 Edward’s Secret II
Richard stood there watching him walk away.
His eyes fell on his other hand where his phone was gleaming with an incoming call.
Rayan and Liam left the ladies in the car. They took a short walk towards the hospital.
“Is it a he or a she? I just wanna know?” Rayan teased.
“She.” Liam replied as the automatic door opened to let them pass.
He gave a fake cough. “Someone has a girlfriend, girlfriend girlfriend someone has a girlfriend,” Rayan sang.
Liam’s ears flushed red “Uncle Rayan. She's too dumb to be my girlfriend.”
“But special enough to pull you here,” he said, "Boys like dumb girls,”
“Uncle Rayan, are you discussing relationships with a seven year old right now?” Liam arched a brown at him.
“Who is seven years..” he said pretending to be searching around. “Oh you.. I almost forgot that.” He chuckled loudly.
He picked Liam up to meet the eyes of the nurse and say why they were here.
Liam didn't complain because he knew he hadn't reached his acquired height so he had to bear it until then.
The nurse smiled brightly at them, especially at Rayan.
“I’m here to visit Havilah Richard,” Liam said.
“Okay,” The woman tapped on her laptop.
“Who are you to the patient?”
“A Friend,”
She looked up to him. “Only family members are allowed to see her. Sorry we can’t grant your request. Except we get permission from a direct family member.
“Let him in,” a deep voice drew everyone’s attention.
Richard had followed Edward trying to figure out what was going on with him; because the same phone he said was dead. Was what he used to answer calls as he walked away with his face contorted with anger.
Then his eyes locked on a little boy. He couldn't miss it. The boy’s hazel eyes and his facial features made his breath hitch.
He hasn’t had the time to investigate Maverick's words over his accusations on Eleanor. The boy was a pure evidence.
“You are lucky,” the nurse said. “That’s her grandfather, you can go with him.”
Rayan found the man who had spoken oddly familiar. His eyes racked the man’s face.
Richard stepped closer until he was close enough to see the little boy's face. This was his grandson. He didn’t need DNA to prove it.
“What’s your name, boy?”
“Liam Johnson,” Liam replied without flinching or folding away at the intense gaze. “I’m here to see Havilah, she wasn’t in school today”
Johnson?
His grandson would never take the name of that disgusting beast, Oliver.
“Liam!!!!” Havilah's voice called the boy happily as she was wheeled over by a nurse with two bodyguards trailing behind.
A doctor saluted Richard. “General, she woke up the doctor said to take her round to check if her brain was affected,”
Rayan immediately grasped who the fuck he was and the twisted situation.
Mavericks father.
Mavericks daughter.
Liam’s grandfather.
Liam’s half sister.
For days Butler Rose has stayed with her son never leaving his side. He had not opened his eyes. His fever has been high since she brought him out of the Edward’s house. He had some broken ribs, and his spleen was injured. How could they beat him up like this?
She used the towel to wipe his skin gently. She reached the side of his stomach that had a line from a previous surgery that told the history of why she had left her family .
Tears poured out her eyes.
“I’m sorry.. I shouldn’t have left you but if I didn’t you wouldn’t be here with me now,” she weeped.
“Tell me why mother,” his hoarse voice sounded in the quiet room amidst her sobs.
Her head flew up. “You are awake,” she touched his cheeks . “Oh gracious goodness,”
He coughed hard, she rushed to the table, poured water into a cup and brought it to him.
She helped him sit up and he drank the water.
He sighed.
“Tell me why you left me and father? Tell me why you choose to look after the Richard’s. I was sick you never came, father died you never came. LikeI didn’t exist to you.
She couldn’t hide it anymore. Life was short to withhold this secret. What if he had lost his life holding deep grudges against her.
“I was desperate to save you. You fell really ill and needed a kidney. I was broke and I didn’t want to lose you. So I went to plead with Edward to help me get a donor and pay that I will work for their family and pay off my debt. I was working for him as a mere house cleaner. Your father was his chauffeur. He said he would help me as long as I signed a document. I didn’t read it, so I went ahead and signed.”
“After your surgery was done. He came asking me to pack my things and go fulfill the end of my bargain. I was shocked.”
Killian stared at her, listening quietly as the question he had always asked was being answered.
“What did the document say
