Chapter 156 Adison

Chapter 156 Adison

Fabian froze.

“I'm sorry—” she quickly apologized, her body had done it before her mind registered it.

“No—no I should be the one apologizing I didn’t give you a heads up.. sorry..” he pulled away.

He didn’t need permission to kiss her; they were both in a relationship.

She took a step closer—

“Mama,” Liam called.

The breakfast was already set and it was a full one. Just like it was in Suncity. The old man was present, Fabian sat next to Heaven like always filling her plate with food. Liam sat next to Rayan eating quietly. Samantha was feeding Rebecca.

“Where’s Zaria?” Heaven asked.

“She is visiting her family back at Suncity. She said Ivory city weather is too cold,” Rayan said.

Suncity truly lived by its name. It was always bright and warm like summer days despite it being an island. She understood why Zaria couldn’t stay away long.

“Congratulations, Dr. Vee,” Rayna said excitedly, indicating the ring on her fingers.

“Oh my congratulations baby girl, I will be your chief bridesmaid, if you don’t mind.” Samantha added.

“Thank you,” Vera said embarrassed. “I don’t mind Sam. The position suits no one else but you.”

Samantha laughed.

“You punk. Did you just give her that ring in the bedroom?” Old man Johnson clicked his teeth. “I don’t know who you take after. Vera is my daughter and I don’t want her to be taken like a thief in the night.”

“Old man, I don’t mind it at all—”

“Shut up” he cut her off gently.

“You are always okay with the bare minimum. But I’m not. This wedding has to be the best ever seen in a century. And we have to start from the engagement.” He took a sip from his wine and dapped his lips with the serviette.

“An engagement party will be thrown in two weeks. Rayan and Samantha make sure the arrangements run smoothly. ”

“Father—”

He raised a finger to shut Fabian up.

“Don’t do shit just attend.”

The breakfast ended. Heaven came down Fabian trailing behind her.

“This is your car,” he pointed at a Range Rover SV. He handed her the keys.

“Thank you..” she muttered.

The gates opened a black mini van drove in. Five bulky men stepped out, they had tattoos crawling out of their necks and some on their faces.

Heaven immediately hid behind Fabian clutching his shirt.

“Who are they?”

All the men got on their knees immediately.

“Boss!!” They said in unison.

She peeked her head out. “Do they work for you?” She asked.

“No you”

“Me?” She pointed at herself, her brows creased in confusion.

“Yes, your body guards.” He began introducing them. “This is Jimmy, Tommy, Kai, Fabz and Tank” she looked at them and they gave her a sharp smile. “Hi, I’m Vera, nice to meet you” she introduced herself too.

“Nice to meet you too, lady boss,” they all said in unison.

“Can I have a word with you Fabian,” she asked.

Fabian nodded and they both stepped aside.

“Fab, you said two bodyguards, how come there are five?”

“Since, they will be guarding you for a whole day when you are out. Five is best so they can take turns and not get tired or over worked,” he explained.

Heaven wanted freedom that’s why she had chosen to marry Fabian but it seemed freedom wouldn’t come easily.

Fabian saw the look of frustration on her face. He stepped closer and held her cheeks. “There’s nothing to worry about. They are trustworthy. They used to work for the  old man.” She was silent.

“I know you want to have a private time with the kids so I will tell the body guards to stay within a safe distance. Okay?”

Heaven took a deep breath, smiled and nodded. “Okay,”

Liam had his school bag draped over his shoulders as he walked towards the car he got in and sat down. Samantha brought Rebecca and put the seat belt around her.

Heaven got and started the car.

Fabian watched the car go and the mini van moved after it. He walked back into the mansion.

Old man Johnson sat with a big old folder filled with pictures from his early days.

He stared deeply at one. He flipped the picture.

“The black face second year anniversary. She said yes.” It was written boldly.

The door flew open. “Dad, organizing a lavish engagement without asking how she feels about it might be too overwhelming for her,” Fabian raged.

“Why hire Five bodyguards to Monitor her movements—”

“They are protecting her. She understands that.” He cut his father off.

“You are just scared she might run back to him.” Fabian jaw tightened.

“You should claim her in every possible way. Spoil her rotten. When a woman says she is okay she is not. Go the extra mile. Do things that keep you on her mind all the time. Not limiting her in the guise of protection.” Old man Johnson  pulled back, picked up a cigarette and lit it up.

Fabian sensed his father’s mood was off. He got a glimpse of the picture, he arched his brow.

“Who is she?”

“Adison.”

Heavens eyes kept looking at the side car mirror.

“Mommy, where are we going?” Rebecca asked. “I’m taking you to school baby.where you can learn new things and make new friends. You can’t cry because you don’t see mommy. It’s only going to be for a few hours and I will come get you, okay?”

She nodded.

Liam’s gaze remained fixed out of the window. Making her unsure how to begin the conversation.

“Mama, are the bad men after us again?” He asked before she could speak.

“W-what bad men?” She asked him, her eyes glanced at him before looking forward.

“The one who chased you while I was in your tummy?” He asked, looking at her.

Heaven's heart clenched painfully. How long had her son known about that information.

“N-no. Sweetheart no one is after us,” she stuttered.

“Then why do we need that much bodyguard following us? He pointed at the side mirror. “Why are you suddenly marrying uncle Fabian?”
