Chapter 152 Sins from the past III

Chapter 152 Sins from the past III

Maverick had lost too much blood. His skin was ashen,he swayed slightly where he stood.

Fabian continued back into the house and Rayan followed suit.

“Should I call the boys to come take him out of here, he seemed pretty dangerous and daring he knocked down a whole gate for Vera.” Rayan was still in disbelief. “That’s an unmatched obsession. He is crazy.”

Fabian's jaw tightened. “No, he will leave on his own. He is too weak to pull any other stunt. Where’s Liam?”

“He's out with the old man and Rebecca.” Rayan said, brushing back the curls over his face.

Fabian nodded. “Get the damage fixed. Tighten security especially around Liam. He might use something she holds dear to threaten her back to him.”

Rayan sighed. “I can believe Vera went through all that.”

Fabian turned to go to her room. Rayan stopped him. “She wouldn’t want you to see her crashing out after what happened out there. It would be awkward and embarrassing, give her something to get it together,”

Fabian hesitated but nodded.

The door to Heaven's room clicked shut, blocking away the courtyard, blood and the wreckage.

But it didn’t block the immense ache she felt.

She walked to the window, pulled open the curtain and looked down at him.

Maverick still stood alone in the ruined courtyard. The alarm from the car had died down, what remained was the noise from the chirping birds returning home.

His gaze lifted and found hers immediately through her glass window upstairs.

She closed the curtains immediately.

She dropped down to the floor, her back resting against a wall.  A  heart wrenching cry tore from her throat.  She pounded her fist against her chest over and over, as if she could force the pain back inside or make it stop.

It didn’t.

She felt like her heart was being ripped out of her chest. Breaking up with him hurt her deeply. The things she said to him killed her too; She hated his betrayal and the love she still couldn’t stop no matter how hard she tried.

A soft knock came at the door.

She got up and wiped her tears thinking it was Fabian. She didn’t want him to feel Maverick still mattered to her.

The door opened and Samantha stepped in unsure.

“I-I don’t mean to intrude but I think you could use a friend at this moment.”

Heaven just stared at her.

Samantha didn’t wait for her response. She simply closed the door behind her with a quiet click, crossed the room, and sank down beside Heaven.

“You don’t have to talk, I will just sit here so you don’t feel alone.”

It was quiet between them Heaven just sniffed. Samantha sat awkwardly. They had only met up when she needed to babysit Liam. They had never spent a whole hour together.

After a long moment Heaven spoke.“The first person that called me friend…I betrayed her by sleeping with her husband. Do you still want to be friends with me?” She asked.

“She’s a bitch. I would take her husband too,” Samantha told her.

Heaven laughed in between tears. “You don’t have to say that to make me feel good,”

“I was there that day at the cruise seven years ago,I saw her push herself over,”

Heaven’s head snapped up. “You… what?”

“You looked familiar Liam mentioned you had amnesia. I didn’t want to give you hope since I didn't really remember where I knew you from. So yes she’s a bitch.”

Heaven gasped. “This world is really a small place,”

“It is indeed,” Samantha responded.

She turned fully to Heaven and stretched her hand to cover Heavens, “What you went through no young girl deserved to go through it. Your youth was taken from you. Do you have to marry again? I’m sorry I don’t wanna overstep—”

Heaven didn’t mind at all she had bottled up everything talking to someone would make it lighter. “I have to,” she said softly. “Thats the only way I can put and end to this once and for all,”

Samantha looked like she wanted to say more but she let it slide. “If you need. I’m right here for you. We are friends now.” She said smiling.

“I do need your help with something,”

Eva and Havilah were placed in one hospital room together. Havilah had a bandage wrapped around her head. The room was quiet except for the beeping sound from the machine and the soft hiss of oxygen. Eva looked ghostly pale.

The door clicked open. The cleaner from the observation room earlier with Maverick stepped in disguised as a doctor, a nose mask over her face. She walked straight to Havilah’s bed and slid out a syringe filled with lemon liquid.

Her eyes gleamed with hatred.

“I will touch them where it would hurt the most and that's you. Goodnight little Heiress.”

She put the injection into the drip hung for Havilah and released the contents
