Chapter 125 The fight.
Summer smiled at the servant, grateful and relieved.
“Thank you. You’re an angel.”
She turned and walked quickly in the direction the girl had indicated, heels clicking softly against the floor.
She slipped out of the main building and found her way into the first building by the left.
She climbed the wide staircase but didn’t know the particular direction to Heaven’s room.
Her phone rang in her hand. It was her mother.
She answered the call exhaling sharply. “Mother, this is not a convenient time to call me..”
“Why not?” Meredith shouted at her daughter through the phone
“You said you were going to visit us and take me to the spa. You didn’t show up. Are you now too big for your mother now, Summer Kalabora.”
“Mother is not that, I promise I will make it up to you. Right now I’m at the Richard's okay I came with that sleazy old man..”
There was a pause on the other end.
“What the fuck are you doing there. Summer Kalabora… your sister is no longer there..” she hissed.
“I saw her, mother. At the Ramona Restaurant with a little boy.. I swear it was Heaven.” she told her mother
“You saw who?” A deep voice sounded. It didn’t come from the phone.
Summer turned slowly.
Maverick stood below the stairs, sweat glistening on his skin, his black singlet stuck to the hard lines of muscles on his chest; it looked like he just came out from the gym.
He was hotter than the day she saw him at the civil affairs eight years ago
Summer ended the call and came down the stairs.
“Hi,” she said smiling. “I don’t know if you remember me. I am Summer Heaven's sister.”
Maverick didn’t take it. His eyes were cold. He glanced at the outstretched hand then back up to her face.
“Why are you here?” He asked in a deep voice.
Summer swallowed.
Her gaze betrayed her for a split second. She traced the way his arms flexed when he slid both hands into his pockets.
She relished how it would feel if he lifted her up and ducked the shit out of her, her eyes ravaged him, how could a man be a walking seduction.
“I… came to see my sister. Heaven. I saw her recently and thought since it’s been so long we could catch up.”
Maverick wondered whether he had to lock Heaven away so no one would blow his cover. His jaw tightened.
“Then you should take me to her, immediately.”
His words shocked her, she squinted her brows in confusion. If she lived here, why would she take him to her?
“She isn’t here?”
“Your sister ran away seven years ago” Maverick stated flatly. “ She broke the contract that she signed and your father was a witness too. We haven’t seen her since then.” He stepped closer. “I went to the Kalabora mansion searching for her and your parents told me they haven’t seen her. Did they lie?”
Summers' blood ran cold at the intensity of his stare.
She had come to save herself but it looked like she had met with something else.
“No..no, you have it all wrong… we haven’t been in contact with her… I just saw someone that looked like her and.. and I thought she still lived here and I came to see her…” she explained.
“Your boldness coming here..tells me otherwise. The contract your sister signed and your family was a witness too stated that, if your sister breaches the contract by running away your family pays double the amount..” he smirked as he saw the horror in her face.
“Since you saw her you should take me to where you saw her… or maybe I would rather take it from you or your family..”
Fuck. Six hundred million dollars. Even her fat sleazy husband didn’t have that kind of money and her career hadn’t raised her that amount.
“I… I don’t know who she is,” she stammered. “My family doesn’t know her. I just came with… with my uncle. I got lost, wandered in here by mistake—”
“I thought as much.” Maverick said coldly.
“Get lost.” He brushed past her dismissing her existence.
Summer stood frozen. She couldn’t go back to Jo, the beatings, the possessiveness, the suffocating disgusting nights.
Her plan to use Heaven’s influence to free herself had just collapsed in front of her.
She was desperate.
She spun, rushed after him, and wrapped both arms around his waist from behind. Her hand slid down without hesitation, palming the thick outline of cock through his shorts.
Maverick froze mid-step.
Summer pressed her warm body against his back. Sensing his silence for weakness and continued
“You are a fine man—” she whispered. “I’m pretty good in bed.. if you don’t mind I will love to show you.” She moved her hand and tried to slip it down into his shorts.
He caught her wrist in an iron grip hard enough to bruise.
He turned slowly, towering over her, his eyes were dark with something far colder than desire. Disgust and anger.
Summer hissed at how tight his grip was, her face contorted in pain.
“Touch me again,” he said, “and I’ll make it your last memory.”
He released her with a small shove that sent her almost falling off the steps.
“Maverick!!” A voice shouted in anger. “You bring your whores home now right.”
Eva had driven alone back to the Richard’s. Her body, still raw from the day's disaster and the first thing she saw was this woman’s hands on her husband.
All this was Mavericks' fault. If he had loved her the way a husband should, she wouldn’t have slept with Killian and Havilah wouldn’t have seen it.
None of this would have happened.
Summer froze.
“It’s not what you think..I swear…”
Eva lunged, she grabbed a fistful of Summer’s hair and yanked her hard.
“You were touching my husband’s dick and it’s not what I think?” Eva snarled. “You’ll regret ever thinking you could touch what belongs to me.”
Eva threw a thunderous slap across her face.
Summer cried out.
“Please—wait—”
Eva followed suit with a punch over her eyes
“I will destroy this pretty face of yours, so he never looks at you again”
Eva had lost her mind with the couple of things that had happened today.”
Maverick stood on the staircase watching with detached amusement.
The commotion soon grabbed the attention from the main building. The servants gathered to see their ever smiling and jovial young madam beating their guest to a pulp.
General Richard and Eleanor appeared. Assemblyman Jo followed suit, his eyes darkened.
Everyone stood there shocked.
“Evangel stop” General Richard roared.
Eva paused mid-blow, chest heaving. Her blows weren’t light; she wasn’t born in a military family to be weak. She was trained too.
“She was seducing my husband.. I saw her grab him.”
Summer slowly pushed herself upright, one eye swelling shut. She looked at Jo.
His face was stone. She knew exactly what waited for her when they got home.
Maverick exhaled, bored now that the spectacle had ended. He turned and continued up the stairs without a backward glance.
Jo stepped forward, calm as death.
“I’m sorry, General. I’ll take my wife home now.”
Summer shook her head frantically, tears spilling.
“Baby, I swear that’s not what happened..”
