Chapter 74
Elvira’s heart crumpled from the pain upon hearing what Viana said. Someone with Lain’s blood. Elvira’s eyes fell on her children and her heart covered with refusal. She would not let anything happen to her children and she cannot bring herself to lose her children. That means… that means that she would not be able to see Lain again. Hugging the baby in her arms tightly, she lowered her head with tears in her eyes. She should face this. She cannot bring him back to life. Everything was gone. Elvira’s tears rolled down from her eyes and she slowly moved her head looking at lain who was lying inside of the ice box. He would never forgive her if she brought him back to life sacrificing his own children and as a mother, she would never do something like that.
“I.. can’t lose them… it’s impossible,” shifting her gaze to Viana, Elvira muttered. Viana nodded at Elvira. She knew that Elvira’s answer would be this.. She looked at Lain and stared at him for a while before letting out a complicated sigh. She had no idea if Elvira wanted her to make Lain come back to life for one day or not because she could make him alive only for twenty four hours. But at the same time she knew that it would be nothing but another pain for everyone. Him coming to her for one day means that she would get hurt once again and her pain would be renewed.
“You want me to bring him back for one day?” Still Viana decided to ask Elvira that question. Elvira’s eyes fell on Viana and she helplessly let out a deep sigh that filled with so many emotions and so many thoughts. She really had no idea what to do but her heart deeply knew that making him come back to her for one day would do nothing but hurt her heart even more. Looking at viana, Elvira slowly shook her head. She didn’t want him to come back to her if he cannot stay with her for the rest of her life. She couldn’t bear to face his death twice.
“No need… just… let him rest in peace now..” She muttered with a painful smile. With that, Viana nodded at Elvira and led Elvira into a room. Elvira entered the room and let out a deep sigh. She would stay here for a few days until the situation around here would be okay. After that she would leave somewhere that no one can ever find her. She would have a peaceful life with her children. She needed to raise them well and protectively. Placing Macaria on the bed, Elvira looked at Viana who was looking at her with emotion filled eyes. She had no idea what’s running through Viana’s head.
“Are you sure that us staying here will not be a problem for you?” Elvira questioned Viana again. Then Viana shook her head with a smile showing that it was totally okay for Elvira and her children to stay in the house. After a while, Viana left the room letting Elvira stay with her kids. Once she left, Elvira caressed Lael’s head and looked at Macaria who was sleeping. She was all alone in this world with two children in her arms. She didn’t know how to face the future and how to protect her children in the future.
The days passed slowly… Elvira felt that it was time for her to leave. It was morning and she decided to go back to her pack where she lived with her parents. She had no idea what she would have to face once she went there but she would take a risk. Walking out of the room where she lived, Elvira went to see Lain who was still lying inside of the ice box. She stared at his face for so long with tears dripping down through her face with so many painful emotions and thoughts in her mind. She still couldn’t let go of the pain in her heart because of the fact that he’s not alive anymore.
“Lain… I’m leaving today… I’m.. I’m just so sorry that I can’t bring you back to life.. I can’t use their lives.. I know you are not angry at me for this.. May your soul rest in peace. I love you. Both Lael and Macaria also love you. Goodbye…” Elvira muttered, placing her hand on the glass. Watching him for a few more minutes, she turned to leave. Then she saw Viana who was standing behind her. Elvira forced a smile seeing Viana. She had no idea what would Viana do keeping Lain’s body here but she didn’t feel like asking her to let him go because she felt that she had a reason for keeping him like here. And at the same time, Elvira could come and see him from time to time in the future.
“I’m leaving, Viana… Thank you so much for everything..” Elvira muttered. Viana didn’t stop her. She just simply nodded at Elvira and let her leave. Elvira left the place that she lived for a few weeks with the thought of starting her life again freshly forgetting all the things that happened. Carrying Macaria in one arm while holding Lael’s hand with her other arm, she walked. Then she looked at Ezki who was about to leave with her and shook her head. She didn’t want to take Ezki to any danger. This place is isolated and she believed that Ezki would live here without any trouble.
“You stay here Ezki… I will leave. I promise that I will be here to visit you in the future” she muttered. After that she left with her two kids. Both vilna and Ezki stared at Elvira leaving. A few unhappy whimpers escaped from Ezki. he didn’t want Elvira to go alone and he cared about her since she was the new master of him. Lain’s death was a huge blow to him and he started to protect Lain’s possessions and Elvira and two children were everything.
***
It’d been two days since Elvira came back to her pack. Even though she came here, no one knew about her presence there. Only the nanny who took care of Elvira ever since she was young knew about her presence. And Elvira was living in a house which was far from the pack but she knew that she could not be hiding here forever and one day all the people would know about her. It was midnight and everyone was sleeping inside of the house but suddenly Elvira was awakened upon hearing the knocks against her house.
Elvira looked at her children and they were sleeping soundly. Her heart was pounding against her chest and she had no idea who was coming at this late night. Grabbing a dagger which she was keeping to protect herself, she walked out of the room. It cannot be her baby because she never comes at this hour. Elvira walked towards the main door of the house and again she heard the knocking. Standing at the door, she carefully listened to what's happening outside but everything was calm and she could only hear the sound of knocks.
“W- Who is here?” She spoke instead of staying silent. Her voice stopped the knocks against the door. Her heart was beating fast inside of her and she placed her hand on the doorknob but she retracted her hand thinking that she shouldn’t open the door without even knowing who was there. Stepping back from the door, she sighed and turned to leave but she was stopped with the sound of knocks. Elvira clenched her jaws and her wolf became somewhat angry. Why the fuck the person can’t talk?
“Stop banging my door and speak or just fucking leave here!” she shouted. As soon as she shouted she heard the sound of a man’s chuckle which made her heart skip a beat with so many thoughts and unknown feelings. Elvira tightened the grip she had around the dagger and stepped towards the door again. She didn’t know but she felt like opening the door. She should not be like this and she should just be careful. But she didn’t know what was this and who was coming. No matter what, if it was dangerous she wouldn’t hesitate to stab with this dagger. Unlocking the door, she opened it slightly and looked out to see a man was standing there wearing all black.
His back was facing her and she couldn’t see his face. She stared at the man who looked so familiar. Instantly he turned to her with a small smile on his lips. Elvira gasped and took a few steps back. Her whole body went numb and her heart started to pound against her chest without stopping. The dagger in her hand fell down and her whole mind went insane with both fear and nervousness. She moved her hand and placed it against her chest wanting to calm herself down but she failed to do that. Her sudden actions caused the man to step into the house.
Elvira stared at him in dazed and she took another few steps back with disbelief. She shut her eyes and took a deep breath. She wanted to wake up from the dream that she’s seeing. She was sure that this was a dream because this can never be real. As she opened her eyes, she could still see the man standing in front of her. Elvira parted her lips to speak but she couldn’t manage to say anything as she felt that her mouth was no longer useful to her. The man stepped towards her and moved his hand as he touched her face. Elvira’s body stiffened. She immediately slapped his hand away and looked for her dagger.
“Umay…” Elvira’s actions stopped in dead tracks hearing the voice and the word he said. She slowly moved her eyes to him and looked at him with tears in her eyes. This is not Lain… he’s dead and there’s no coming back but who the hell is this? He just simply looked like a clone of Lain. but she was not ready to believe anything. Upon seeing her reactions, he let out a deep sigh and moved closer to her.
“L~ Leave! Don’t come closer… or I will kill you…. I don’t know who you are… just please leave my house!” She sharply remarked. His eyes remained expressionless hearing her. All he did was stare at her tear filled face. She was not ready to accept what she’s seeing and she was already dazed. She regretted opening the door but she couldn’t help it. Picking up the dagger, Elvira pointed it at Lain who was standing in front of her. She was not going to believe that the man standing in front of her was her real Lain.
“Stop it Umay… it’s me! I am here.” Elvira’s wolf screamed from both pain and fear hearing him. The voice… the words and the look. Everything was just similar to Lain. she fell on her knees and held her head thinking that she was going insane. Tears dripped down through her face and she couldn’t hold the pain back in her heart. Lain bent down and held Elvira as he made her stand up. Pulling her to a hug, he hugged her so tightly against his chest.
“I’m here… all alive in front of you… just… listen… I was woken up by someone and I don’t know who it was… and I didn’t bother to check that person. Ezki took me here… are you living well my angel?” Elvira's cries increased and she clutched Lain’s shirt burying her face against his chest. She shook her head and hugged him tighter. She didn’t know how to understand what’s happening. How could he even come back to life? It was a mystery but if he’s saying that he came with Ezki, she cannot bring herself not to believe him.
Elvira broke the hug between them and pushed him aside as she ran out of the door. She wanted to see Ezki. as she was looking for Ezki, she saw Ezki who was lying on the ground in front of her house. Elvira cried and walked back into the house looking at Lain. her heart was aching but there was happiness in her chest. She bit her lower lip and looked into his emerald eyes for so long to find that he was the real and he was the right one. Elvira stepped towards him and moved her trembling hands touching his face. She cupped his handsome face and cried not knowing how to believe what she’s saying and she didn't want this to be a dream.
“You… you are here? Lain… I…” Lain nodded at her without letting her speak, he could understand that she was suffocating in her chest after seeing him. Kissing her forehead, he hugged her. He buried his face against her neck and inhaled her scent. Instantly, he sharpened his teeth and marked her on the spot making Elvira melt into his arms. As he marked her their bond became heavy and deep. He could feel her heartbeat and Elvira also could feel it.
“I’m here… go to sleep now… let’s talk tomorrow. Where’s my children?” Lain asked. Elvira held his arm tightly and nodded. Then she pulled him into the house and entered the room. Lain’s heart softened seeing his children sleeping on the bed. He stared at Lael for a while and then moved his eyes to the tiny baby. He smiled looking at them and then moved his eyes to Elvira.
“Thank you…” he muttered. She stared at him dazed and nodded with a small smile.
“This is not a dream right?” she asked him. He shook his head and picked her up. Placing her on the bed, he kissed her lips. Elvira didn’t hesitate as she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back., kissing for a while, Lain also lay on the bed next to her and hugged her to sleep.
The next morning, Elvira woke up and looked at the bed. She wanted to see Lain but to her heartbreak the bed was empty and he was nowhere to be found. She sat up on the bed and looked around the room. Getting down from the bed, she ran out of it and checked everywhere. He was not there… Was she dreaming? She felt terrible in her chest and her eyes again covered with tears.
“You woke up?” Elvira turned back and looked at Lain. She immediately strode towards him and hugged him tightly. He’s heere.. He’s real!
“Thank you for coming back….. I was about to die without you” she cried in his arms again.
“Daddy…. Daddy is back…” soon, Lael’s shout spread everywhere in the house. Lain turned to Lael and picked him up with a smile.
“Yeah… Daddy is here and won’t go back” he replied, kissing his little forehead.
