Chapter 14

Scarlet's POV.

Ray Entertainment has signed many people since its establishment. The company groomed those talents, and now they have become successful in this industry. Mom signed more than a hundred young people at that time, and many of them are ruling this world with their talent right now.

Michelle Travis has given many talents to Ray Entertainment as well since he joined the company, and now they are all handed to me, Scarlet Quinn. The reason they are handed to me is that Michelle Travis decided he doesn't want to manage the existing trainees anymore, which is saddening because he tried so hard to sign them. I don't feel bad for him, but for the kids who trusted him, he betrayed them.

Ray Entertainment is a big name in the entertainment industry. Everyone bows before this empire, and millions want to enroll and make a name for themselves. A successful person once started from here. Ray Entertainment was their first step. But then a huge scandal arose that year after the CEO of Ray Entertainment disappeared, almost making the company go bankrupt. But the survival of Ray Entertainment remains a mystery till date.

Lyla explained the whole company situation to me and what was going on inside. She told me everything she knew, let it be rumors or facts, and I listened to her information carefully and seriously.

“The trainees are practicing in the Left Wing building. I don't know how they might react once they see you. I fear they might not accept you as their new coach.” Lyla looked concerned.

“For now, I am not their coach, but a leader of this empire who's visiting her future wealth.” I know I sounded rude, but that's the only way I could explain the situation right now since I am inexperienced in this field.

“Those kids are very sensitive. You will have to handle them carefully. They might retaliate. Taking Mr. Travis's character in mind, I am afraid he hasn't told them about his resignation from being coach of Left Wing. Be careful, they might try to hurt you.” Lyla opened the door for me as I walked out.

“I might be inexperienced in this field, but I sure know which nerve to pull to get the best reaction out of them. They won't be able to hurt me.” I said to her as I carried a beautiful smile on my face.

My mom, Jade Quinn, built four large practice studios five years after the establishment of Ray Entertainment. She named them the Right Wing, the Left Wing, the East Wing, and the West Wing.

Every wing is handled by a different person of the same status and position. Although mom signed young trainees, she never personally interfered in their training. She only guided from afar and watched them from the side.

After her disappearance, all Wings fell down for a short period, then got assigned to different sub-leaders, but only Left Wing was given to the new employee, and he was none other than Michelle Travis.

Just like its name, Left Wing gave me a deep impression. The decoration, the atmosphere, the walls, and the furniture—everything is made perfectly, like an eighth wonder.

A loud song burst into my eardrums, almost pulling me forward in its direction. A group of young people dancing came in front of my eyes. The glass-like wall almost displayed them perfectly.

As I opened the door, no reaction came at first. But the moment their eyes fell on me, a young lad stopped the music aggressively and walked back to his group. All of them took a step back. It wasn't a sign of fear, but retaliation instead.

“Look who's here? The new CEO of Ray Entertainment. A witch who snatched away the position of CEO from our Sir Michelle. How dare you step in here?” One of them said condescendingly.

“It looks like your Sir Michelle didn't tell you the reason I came here. Well, no problem. So, I am Scarlet Quinn, the new leader of Ray Entertainment and as well... your new coach. But I don't take myself as your coach, so you all can rest assured. Don't worry, you won't see me often.” I have no interest in becoming the target of their hatred.

When they learned of this matter, that Michelle Travis was no longer their coach, they were shocked and angry.

“You are lying. How can Sir Michelle abandon us? You are lying. It must be your doing. You even took away his right to teach us. There's no place for you here. Go back.”

As Lyla expected, they are aggressive and way too sensitive. Explaining anything to them will be useless.

“For your kind information, it's not me who took away his right to teach you all, but his decision to dump his responsibility on me. It's up to you whether you want me or not, because I won't force myself on you. So relax and continue what you were doing earlier.” I turned around to leave. There's no way I am talking sense into them.

They trust Michelle blindly and will only hate me further if I try to explain things, anything I say right now will be taken as an excuse.

“Hah! Do you think we will believe you? There's no way our Sir Michelle would abandon us. It must be you who forced him. We will never accept you. Just know this.” All of them sang in unison.

“I got it! I won't come here to disturb you again. I will soon find a new coach for you, a person who might teach you better than your Sir Michelle.” I left at my normal pace and failed to see their reaction, but I was sure today was going to be the worst day of their lives.

I feel bad for them. Michelle Travis shouldn't have given up on them. I don't know what his motive was behind dumping his responsibilities on me, but he should have at least informed them about his resignation from this matter. At least they wouldn't be as hurt as they are right now after hearing about this from an outsider.

It wasn't just young people whose day was ruined, but mine as well. All of a sudden, I became the leader of the biggest empire, and all its responsibilities, liabilities, and workload fell on me. Doing it all in just one day is not possible. A month is barely enough. And now my eyes have turned black from all the focus. I finally returned home somehow.

“Welcome back, Scar! Oh, my gosh! Sweetheart, what's with your eyes? They look so dead and lifeless. What did your company make you do?” My father-in-law was too stunned to speak after seeing my dead look; he was completely concerned.

“The workload was too heavy today. I am worried that I won't be able to finish the work in time. Even a month is not enough to complete this task.” I complained to him without even realizing I was talking about my worries.

“My child, it's normal to feel exhausted after you go back to work after such a long break. You will surely conquer this deadline. And if anyone bullies you, you have to tell me, and I will make sure it never happens again.” He patted my head like a father, as if I were his child. I felt my inner child being satisfied by his mere touch.

“By the way! Where's Raymond? Hasn't he back yet?” I asked as it was already past 9 p.m.

“He might be late today. He's dining with Mandy today. They have an important dinner party tonight.” He walked back into the kitchen and brought me a glass of water.

It's Mandy again. I don't know how to feel about her. Should I be relaxed or worried? Somehow, that woman rubs me the wrong way. Or is it just my mind playing games with me? I don't know.

I went to my room and came downstairs after freshening up. The dinner was almost ready, and I helped my father-in-law bring all the food to the dinner table. Since Raymond was having dinner outside today, we didn't wait for him.

I returned to my room after washing the dishes. Dad didn't want me to wash, but I insisted. The room was bright due to the heavy lights, so I turned it off and only turned on the lamp that was placed on the study table.

I brought the unfinished work home, and it's already giving me headaches. But what to do? I can't back away or hide. Doing it is the only solution. Plus, now I also have to think about the coach problem. The trainees need a new coach. They can't be unattended for long. Or else it would create a problem for their upcoming future.

I sat down, took out my laptop, and started doing my work. I didn't look at the time, nor did I hear the footsteps that approached me from behind. And suddenly, I was wrapped in a hug from behind. I know this smell, this touch, and this body.

“When did you come? Did you eat?” I asked as I placed my hand on his, which held me tightly.

“I just came, and I had dinner.” He spoke like a child, which was unlike him.

I slowly removed his hand and turned around to look at him, and to my surprise, he was drunk. His cheeks were flush, his eyes were droopy, and his lips were constantly on the rise. I could feel he was happy.

“You are drunk.” I said as I got up to remove his coat, which he was trying to remove just now.

He shook his head. “No! I am not drunk. I only drank this much. Look, I am completely sober.” I have to say, he looks adorable when he's drunk.

“So you are not drunk. You are sober. I get it. So, my dear Ray, would you stand properly, like a sober person? So I can take off your clothes.” I asked him politely and moved my hand to his neck.

“Yup! I will stand properly. No wait! You shouldn't take off my clothes.”

He fell on my shoulders once again without completing what he was saying. He left me wondering what he meant.

I patted his cheeks twice, and somehow I pulled him out of my small body. “You are too heavy, Ray. How much do you weigh? Well! What am I even asking you? How was your dinner party? Did you have fun with Mandy?”

“Mandy? Who's Mandy?”
