Chapter 316 The More They Interact, The More She Likes
That day, the news of the Pena family coming to beg for mercy and leaving in disgrace spread throughout Harmony City once again.
This time, the Pena family was completely humiliated.
Not only that, the Pena Group wasn't doing any better either.
In just two or three days, the Pena Group completely fell from grace.
Saul was arrested and quickly convicted.
Plus, they had fallen out of Andrew's favor.
The Pena Group, whose stock price had already crashed, now faced even worse troubles, losing several major projects.
Those rival families naturally didn't miss this opportunity and took turns kicking them while they were down.
The Pena Group might not look too bad right now.
But everyone knew that after this incident, the Pena family would drop to the bottom of the top ten families, or even fall out of the top ten ranking entirely.
"I bet no one expected this outcome, right?"
"The Pena family suffered huge losses this time. They probably won't dare to be so arrogant anymore."
"Exactly. The whole Pena family used to be so arrogant. Now they finally know who they shouldn't mess with."
But there were also some people who didn't quite get it.
"How did the Pena family end up like this just because of some woman?"
"One woman doesn't have that much power to shake up Harmony City. The Pena family was too high-profile. It was only a matter of time before they crashed."
"Right, I think Mr. Hamilton was already planning to move against the Pena Group. His girlfriend's appearance was just a trigger."
"I think so too. Don't assume Mr. Hamilton acted emotionally. As a businessman, how could he lose his mind over one person and randomly attack a major family?"
Gossip aside, some smart people had already started asking about Andrew's girlfriend's preferences.
They figured that since Andrew had publicly acknowledged her in front of so many people, he must really like her and would probably keep her around.
If they could get on her good side, they might gain Andrew's favor in the future.
But what they didn't expect was that after that night, Andrew returned to his usual low profile and barely appeared at any public events.
As for Andrew's girlfriend that everyone in Harmony City was talking about, she seemed to have disappeared completely, as if she had never existed.
This situation left quite a few people puzzled.
Olivia had no idea about any of this.
But Evelyn knew.
She loved gossip and came over every day to share with Olivia what she had heard.
After listening, Olivia would just smile faintly and not take it to heart.
These days, besides doing psychological work with Bianca at home and coaxing her to go to school, Olivia spent most of her time immersed in the materials Rodolfo had given her.
A national-level research institute wasn't just any ordinary lab. They had strict requirements for researchers' skills.
Even though Olivia hadn't officially started working yet, she was already feeling nervous.
She had been carefully studying those materials these past days, preparing herself.
Of course, during this time, she and Andrew stayed in touch.
Although Andrew said he was busy with work, he came home right on time every day after work to have dinner with them.
Bianca's smile appeared more often than before.
Olivia felt that these days were peaceful and comfortable.
What could be more wonderful than having the person you love by your side, your daughter recovering and being sweet and adorable, your parents and elderly relatives in good health, and your own career advancing?
If possible, Olivia hoped these days could continue forever, undisturbed by anyone or anything!
After about ten days of psychological preparation with Bianca, she finally agreed to go to kindergarten.
Olivia got up early that morning and prepared Bianca's favorite breakfast with Yara.
Once Bianca promised Olivia something, she wouldn't back out or throw a tantrum at the last minute.
After breakfast, she put on the little backpack and water bottle Olivia had prepared for her, then stared eagerly at the door.
She had made plans with Andrew last night that he would take her to school today, so now she was waiting for him.
Seeing her staring motionlessly at the door, Olivia found it amusing and couldn't help going over to poke her little cheeks.
Bianca cupped her face, lost in her own world, not reacting to Olivia's teasing.
A few minutes later, when the sound of a car came from outside the villa, Bianca finally showed some reaction.
When the door opened from outside and Andrew walked in, Olivia couldn't help teasing, "If you hadn't come, she would have turned into a statue!"
Andrew couldn't help but laugh at that.
Bianca didn't care what Olivia said. She happily rushed over, hugged Andrew's long legs, and said excitedly, "Daddy, you're finally here!"
Since it was her first day at school, Olivia had braided her hair into two pigtails with pink flower clips, making her little face look even more cute and soft.
Andrew picked up the little one and looked at her expression, asking, "Bianca, were you worried I wouldn't come?"
Bianca said stubbornly, "No, I knew you would definitely keep your promise."
Andrew saw through her bravado but didn't call her out.
Bianca was indeed a bit anxious.
Perhaps due to her long-standing sense of being ignored and the lingering effects of her not-yet-fully-healed condition, she subconsciously feared Andrew wouldn't come.
Fortunately, Andrew didn't break his promise.
Andrew understood the look in the child's eyes, and his heart softened. He seriously promised Bianca, "Bianca, don't be afraid. I will definitely do everything I promise you.
If one day I can't make it, it must be because I encountered an unavoidable situation and couldn't get there.
But I promise, next time I will definitely make it up to you.
So from now on, don't feel anxious about things like this anymore, okay?"
Hearing this, Bianca's eyes brightened considerably. She immediately hugged his neck happily, and the bit of anxiety in her eyes disappeared too.
She replied softly, "Okay, I'll remember. Daddy, you're the best. I love you the most!"
After saying that, she kissed Andrew on the cheek.
Andrew chuckled, pinched Bianca's face, and said, "I love you too, Bianca."
Olivia watched their interaction from the side, her gaze very gentle.
The fatherly love, attention, and companionship that Bianca had been missing.
Andrew was truly giving it all back to her, bit by bit.
These weren't originally his responsibilities.
But he was doing better than anyone else.
How could this not make someone fall for him?
Olivia sincerely felt that every time she spent with this man, she liked him a little more.
She completely understood why so many people liked him.
Because she liked him very much too.
Olivia didn't watch from the side for too long.
She spoke up to remind them, "Alright, let's get going, or we'll run out of time."
"Okay."
"Let's go!"
Andrew and Bianca nodded together, the excitement on Bianca's face clearly visible.
Soon, they all headed out together to the kindergarten.
When getting in the car, Olivia was a bit surprised.
Because today, Andrew was driving himself.
Previously when she saw him, there was almost always a driver, or David would drive.
This was the first time she had seen Andrew holding the steering wheel.
The way he drove wasn't any different from anyone else.
But Olivia just felt it was attractive and charming. Even his profile as he looked ahead seemed more refined than usual.
Olivia couldn't help but look a couple more times.
But she didn't expect Andrew to notice her little movements.
The man turned his face toward her, raised an eyebrow, and asked, "What's wrong?"
Caught in the act, Olivia felt a bit embarrassed, but still said, "Nothing, it's just the first time I've seen you drive. It feels a bit novel."
This made Andrew smile.
He told Olivia, "When we were on missions before, driving was a necessary skill for each of us. Back then we often took turns driving with teammates.
After coming back, because of work, it's basically been the driver and David!
But from now on, I can be the exclusive driver for you and Bianca."
Olivia was caught off guard by this sweet talk, her heart feeling like it was filled with honey.
Happy as she was, she didn't agree right away. Instead, she shook her head and said, "I appreciate the thought, but you're already so tired from work and so busy. For safety reasons, you should drive less.
Letting the driver or David drive means you can rest more in the car, which is good.
I'm not an unreasonable girlfriend. As long as you're safe and sound, I'm satisfied."
Hearing her such understanding words, Andrew's eyes filled with a smile. He said, "Olivia, are your expectations of me really that low?"
Hearing this, Olivia also laughed softly. "Low? I don't think so. You're already good enough to me!"
Many things, Andrew had already done before she even needed to ask.
Over time, she had run out of requests to make.
Andrew said somewhat helplessly, "Olivia, we've only been together a few days. You can't feel satisfied just because of these little things I've done.
You can ask more of me, you can let me do more things for you.
I'm willing."
He looked at Olivia seriously and sincerely, telling her, "In this relationship, I hope you can learn to be a bit more greedy.
Because what I want to do isn't just this. I want to be even better to you than I am now!"
Olivia had rarely heard anyone say such things to her.
Almost every time, it was Andrew saying them to her.
Why could he be so good to her?
For a moment she didn't know what to say. She was stunned for a long time, her heart filled with overwhelming emotion, and even her eyes started to redden.
All along, her attitude toward relationships had been to habitually give, never thinking about what she should get in return.
Suddenly receiving so much goodness, she actually felt a bit anxious inside.
Sometimes when she woke up in the middle of the night, she would feel that such goodness seemed unreal, making her feel unsettled.
But now, Andrew was telling her to be even more greedy.
