Chapter 288 Scumbag Couple
Seeing Evelyn grinning like a fox, Olivia couldn't help but ask curiously, "What kind of show?"
Evelyn kept her in suspense, saying, "You'll find out later!"
Since the Johnson family was so shameless, daring to lay hands on Bianca and inviting Olivia to watch their engagement party to humiliate her, she wouldn't be polite with them either.
Later, she'd make them lose face even more completely.
Hearing this, Olivia asked with some concern, "What are you planning to do? Don't make things too far - the Johnson family definitely won't let you off."
She had experienced it firsthand. Even if the Johnson family couldn't really do anything to them, nobody was better at being nasty than them.
And if things went too far, they might go after Evelyn.
She didn't want Evelyn to get in trouble because of her either.
Evelyn put her hands on her hips and said, "I'm going to Harmony City anyway, why should I be afraid of them?"
Olivia and Daniel exchanged glances.
They had a feeling Evelyn was planning something big.
Olivia was about to ask for details when she saw Evelyn suddenly perk up, staring at the elevator entrance and quickly pulling out her phone to take photos.
Olivia looked over suspiciously and saw a face that seemed vaguely familiar.
It was a foreign face with deep, defined features. She felt like she'd seen him somewhere before.
The man looked satisfied, and as he stepped out of the elevator, he was still adjusting his clothes in the reflective wall.
Faintly, she could see unnatural red marks on his neck.
"Who's that?" Olivia tugged at Evelyn's sleeve and asked quietly.
Evelyn smiled and said, "Sophia's ex-husband."
"What?"
Both Olivia and Daniel were shocked by this answer.
They instinctively stared at Evelyn and asked, "How do you know?"
Evelyn had wanted to come clean, but thinking about getting revenge for Olivia, she didn't say it directly. She just brushed it off, saying, "Never mind how I know - this was actually an accident.
I found out that guy used to be a model. A few years ago, he became really popular in the foreign entertainment industry because of his striking looks, and was voted the most popular handsome man.
But last year, his wife sued him for domestic violence, so his reputation was ruined, he lost his job, and all his scheduled events and appearances were canceled.
The entertainment industry is the same everywhere - once you lose your resources and disappear from the cameras, people quickly forget you, let alone getting back to that position.
I just didn't expect him to show up here."
Daniel looked very surprised. "Today is Michael's engagement. As Sophia's ex-husband, how did he get here? He couldn't have been invited, could he?"
Evelyn glanced toward the elevator and said mysteriously, "He came down from upstairs - could he have gone to see Sophia?"
Olivia was thinking the same thing.
But she said with some confusion, "But the Johnson family's bodyguards upstairs are guarding so strictly - even we couldn't get through. How did he get in to see Sophia?"
Daniel squinted his eyes and said somewhat uncertainly to the two of them, "That outfit he was wearing just now... didn't it look like what the hotel staff wear?"
Evelyn looked excited, with a gleeful expression on her face, and said, "These two are really bold - they actually dare to have an affair right under Michael's nose?"
"That can't be possible, right?" Olivia thought this was just too absurd.
Sophia was about to marry Michael - why would she take such a risk?
But somehow, she also felt that Sophia was capable of doing something like this.
However, Olivia wasn't interested in other people's business.
Whether this was true or not, it was Michael's own choice.
Her purpose in coming here today was just to take Bianca away.
...
At this moment, upstairs, Michael had found the room where Bianca was, but discovered he couldn't get in.
Thinking that only Bianca was inside, he frowned and knocked on the door. "Bianca, open the door."
He called out several times, but there was no response from inside.
He looked at Amelia beside him and asked, "What's going on?"
Amelia had no idea.
After being angered earlier, she hadn't paid attention to what was happening here.
Now that her son was asking, she replied innocently, "Everything was fine just now. Bianca must be angry and deliberately closed the door to throw a tantrum inside."
Robert stepped forward to check and told Michael, "It's locked from the inside. Bianca is alone in there - did she do this herself?"
Michael frowned, feeling this wasn't something Bianca would do.
He understood this child - because of her autism, she had always lived in her own world. She didn't have thoughts of her own.
But out of concern, he continued knocking on the door and pressing the doorbell, trying to get Bianca to come out. "Bianca, open the door quickly, or I'm going to get angry."
Bianca, of course, heard the commotion outside in the room.
But her little expression was very determined as she sat in a corner, ignoring it.
Andrew had told her not to open the door for bad people.
Of course she would listen to him!
So without looking back, she hid in the room and even locked the door from the inside!
Andrew said not to go out, and that when his people came to pick her up, they would give her a secret code.
With Andrew's instructions, Bianca wasn't so scared anymore and obediently waited in the room.
As for the sounds outside, she pretended not to hear them.
Michael knocked on the door for a long time, and his patience was running out.
He never worried about whether the commotion outside would scare Bianca.
So he simply turned around and directly ordered Robert, "Go find a hotel staff member and have them come unlock it."
"Yes." Robert quickly left.
However, when the staff member came over, they told him with an embarrassed expression, "Sorry, Mr. Johnson, the door is locked from the inside. Opening it is a bit tricky and will take time to break through.
After all, our hotel uses the best door locks!"
Seeing this, Amelia couldn't help but curse, "That damn girl really knows how to cause trouble. With all this delay she's causing, the engagement party has already started!
She's just like her mother, deliberately making things difficult for us!"
Michael wasn't very happy either.
But he knew that today's engagement was more important.
So he said to Robert, "You stay here and handle this."
"Yes."
After giving instructions, he and Amelia left directly.
In the afternoon, the Johnson Group's engagement party officially began.
All the guests invited today were important people in Emerald City. Amelia, Hayden and Chase, along with other family members, were all receiving guests.
Evelyn pulled Olivia along, and Daniel came too.
Chase saw Olivia appear from afar and immediately went forward to block her, demanding sternly, "Why are you here? Are you here to cause trouble?"
Before Olivia could speak, he warned directly, "Let me tell you, Michael loves Sophia. Even if you come to stop it today, you won't get what you want, and Michael won't even look at you!
If you're smart, you'd better leave right now!"
Olivia wanted to roll her eyes.
This Chase was really as loyal to Sophia as ever.
Evelyn couldn't stand listening anymore and retorted, "What are you yelling about? Wasn't it your Johnson family who sent her the invitation?
It's rare to see a scumbag couple's wedding - how could we not come and observe?"
Hearing this, Chase looked at her coldly and asked, "Who are you? Who are you calling a scumbag couple?"
Daniel said coolly, "My date. What? Is the Johnson family going to kick out guests?"
Chase frowned, wanting to say something.
At this moment, Amelia also came over. She stopped Chase and said, "Since they're here, they're guests. Let them in. Some people might not have seen Michael and Sophia's engagement party - it's good to let them broaden their horizons."
These words were naturally directed at Olivia.
Back when Olivia and Michael got married, they had nothing.
Compared to today's grand engagement party, it was indeed quite shabby.
But Olivia didn't care about these things anymore.
Did Amelia think saying this would get to her?
Olivia was unfazed.
Evelyn even laughed and said, "Grand is good - the grander it is, the more it shows you've married a 'good daughter-in-law.' Congratulations, congratulations. I hope your son and Sophia will be happily married, grow old together, and stay together forever!"
As soon as these words came out, Amelia and the others' expressions weren't great.
Although Evelyn's words sounded like blessings, the tone wasn't like that at all.
It had a sarcastic feeling to it.
But given the occasion today and the many guests present, they couldn't show their displeasure and could only hold it in for now.
Later, when all the guests had arrived, the engagement ceremony began.
Michael and Sophia appeared before everyone under the spotlight.
The man wore a tailored black suit, tall and upright, with deep features and a handsome face that drew the attention of many women present.
Sophia standing beside him had a curvy figure and wore an exquisite dress that was flawless.
Setting everything else aside, these two were indeed a perfect match.
The guests nearby, seeing this scene, couldn't help but whisper to those around them.
"That Sophia is really lucky to be able to marry into a wealthy family like the Johnson family!"
"I heard she got in because she's pregnant with the Johnson family's child."
"Exactly, I heard that too. Mrs. Johnson hated her so much before - if she hadn't gotten pregnant, they wouldn't have let her in."
"She's really lucky. If she gives the Johnson family a son, her position will be even more secure."
"Hmph! Have you forgotten how good she is at causing trouble?"
"Let's hope the Johnson family hasn't married a disaster into the family."
