Chapter 287 There's a Good Show Today
Daniel looked a bit hesitant.
But seeing Olivia's insistent attitude, he could only tell Eric to stop and step back.
Olivia looked coldly at Michael and Amelia. "I'm telling you, if something happend to Bianca, I definitely won't let this go!"
After saying that, Olivia left with Daniel.
When they entered the elevator, she looked at Daniel with concern and asked, "Are you okay?"
Hearing her concerned tone, Daniel felt quite pleased. He shook his head and said, "I'm fine. With just them, how could they possibly hurt me?"
"That's good." Olivia nodded, finally feeling relieved.
The elevator doors had already closed. Michael stood there, watching that woman leave without looking back, his expression uglier than ever.
This woman Olivia—seeing that he was getting engaged to someone else, she could still be so calm?
Michael instinctively didn't want to believe it.
He even wondered, did she really show up today just for Bianca?
Thinking of his daughter, Michael immediately looked at Amelia and asked, "Where's Bianca now?"
Amelia, seeing that Olivia had left, had been feeling quite smug. Hearing this, she didn't think much of it and replied, "In her room."
"I'll go check on her." After saying this, Michael headed toward Bianca's room.
Passing by Sophia's lounge, he suddenly stopped, his brow furrowing slightly.
With all that commotion outside just now, she hadn't come out.
Michael, in a rare moment of consideration, worried that the pregnant woman might have been frightened.
He stepped forward and knocked on the door. "Sophia?"
The person inside didn't respond. Michael's brow furrowed again, and he tried to open the door directly.
But unexpectedly, the door was locked from inside.
Inside the room, Sophia was being pressed down by someone.
Hearing Michael's voice, Sophia was so scared her whole body tensed up.
She glared angrily at the man in front of her, lowering her voice to warn him, "Are you crazy? I'm just one step away from marrying into the Johnson family.
If you make noise at this time and ruin my engagement party today, all my previous efforts will be completely wasted!
Do you still want the money you're after or not?"
Hearing her warning, Arthur laughed dismissively, biting her ear and saying in a low voice, "Don't worry, I'm not stupid enough to throw away my own wealth and comfort.
It's just that thinking about you becoming Michael's wife soon, and how it won't be as easy to sleep with you in the future as it is now.
So today, I have to savor this properly!"
With that, he picked Sophia up in one motion.
Sophia was startled by his action.
The next second, Arthur carried her to the wall by the door and lifted her skirt.
Michael was standing outside the door at this moment, while Sophia was being pressed against the wall.
Sophia covered her mouth tightly, not daring to make a sound, her whole body trembling with fear.
Just then, her phone started ringing.
It was Michael calling.
Sophia didn't dare answer.
But Arthur sneered and said, "Answer Michael's call. Otherwise, won't he be even more suspicious?"
Sophia was going crazy.
But this thrill of the affair made her even more sensitive.
She suppressed everything and answered the phone, trying to make her voice sound as normal as possible.
"Michael, what's wrong?"
Michael's voice was deep as he asked her, "Why is your room door locked from inside?"
Sophia certainly didn't dare tell the truth and quickly explained, "I accidentally got my engagement dress dirty and need to change into another one. Why, what's wrong?"
Michael didn't doubt her words and just said, "Nothing. There was some commotion outside just now, and I didn't see you, so I wanted to check. As long as you're okay."
"Mm." Sophia suddenly let out a muffled groan, the unusual tone making Michael outside suspicious. "What's wrong?"
Sophia pinched the man in front of her hard, her eyes carrying a strong warning.
Then she explained to the person on the phone, "No—nothing, the zipper accidentally caught my hair. I can't talk now, Michael. After I change clothes I still need to touch up my makeup. You go ahead with what you need to do, we'll see each other soon."
"Okay." Michael didn't suspect anything and hung up the phone, then put away his phone and went to find Bianca.
In the room, Sophia angrily punched Arthur. "Are you looking to die?"
Arthur smiled rakishly and said, "Didn't he not notice? Besides, don't you like it?"
Sophia didn't respond to that, just impatiently urged him, "Hurry up!"
"Alright, I'll definitely satisfy your request..."
...
Downstairs at the hotel, Olivia and Daniel had already come down.
Reaching the lobby on the floor where the banquet hall was located, Daniel asked her, "Is it really okay for us to just leave like this?"
Olivia actually wasn't sure either.
She didn't know what arrangements Andrew had made.
Leaving like this, she still felt uneasy.
"It'll definitely be fine. Let me make a phone call first." She needed to check with Andrew again.
Olivia immediately dialed his number.
When he answered, her tone was somewhat urgent as she asked, "Andrew, do you know where Bianca is? How is she doing now?"
The man's gentle, magnetic voice came through, carrying a soothing power as he said, "Yes, don't worry. She's still in the room. I taught her to lock the door from inside, not letting the Johnsons in. I've also sent people to help, and they'll bring her to you later."
Olivia certainly trusted that he would handle things well.
But she still asked worriedly, "How was her condition when she called you? Was there anything wrong? I don't know if they bullied her!"
Olivia really couldn't feel at ease.
Andrew reassured her, "It's fine. I asked her. Bianca's condition is pretty good. She's just a bit scared being in a strange place, and she was scolded by the Johnsons, so she cried a bit.
When she secretly called me for help, I already comforted her. She's okay now.
I had you retreat earlier to make the Johnsons lower their guard, so my people could make their move more easily.
If the commotion was too big, there's no guarantee Bianca wouldn't be frightened, or that the situation might escalate and hurt her or you!"
Hearing his explanation, Olivia felt greatly relieved.
At the same time, she felt a bit sorry for Bianca.
Olivia added, "She must have been terrified being forcibly taken away today. But I didn't expect she would contact you first.
No wonder when I called her just now, I couldn't get through."
Talking about this, Olivia didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
Andrew told her, "Bianca has a good habit there. It's you who always doesn't come to me when you're in trouble. You should learn from her!"
The man's tone carried a gentle quality that made Olivia's heart skip a beat.
She quickly explained in a small voice, "I didn't do it on purpose. I just thought that since you're in Harmony City, I was afraid you couldn't help with something so far away, so I..."
Andrew picked up where she left off, "So you went to Mr. Wilson? Just now I had David hack into the Johnson Group's surveillance system and saw him protecting you."
Olivia suddenly felt an inexplicable sense of guilt.
Why did she feel like she'd been caught doing something wrong?
They hadn't even said they were definitely together!
Olivia steadied herself and said dryly, "Daniel is my friend, and the only person in Emerald City I could ask for help."
Andrew didn't refute her words, but went along with what she said, his tone carrying a hint of deeper meaning, "Mm, we should thank him properly later!"
Olivia felt her heartbeat becoming somewhat uncontrollable, and didn't know how to respond.
Andrew didn't tease her too much. Sensing her discomfort, he chuckled and said, "Don't worry, I'm not taking it to heart. But next time, no matter what happens, you need to tell me first.
Even though I'm in Harmony City, I can still protect you."
His words made ripples spread through Olivia's heart.
This time, she didn't refuse his kindness and obediently replied, "Okay."
The two chatted for a while longer before hanging up.
After Olivia put away her phone, she went to find Daniel.
She happened to run into Evelyn and Yara, who had come looking for them.
Evelyn quickly asked her, "Olivia, what about Bianca? Can't we bring her back today?"
Olivia's expression hesitated for a few seconds, then she shook her head and said, "Not yet. Someone will rescue her later. Let's go back and wait."
Hearing this, Daniel's expression didn't relax at all; instead, his eyes darkened.
He immediately asked, "Who's going to rescue her?"
Olivia answered openly, "Mr. Hamilton. Bianca called him for help, and he called me saying he's already made arrangements, so we shouldn't stay here and draw attention."
Hearing this, Daniel felt quite uncomfortable.
He could have helped her too.
But Olivia had, without hesitation, let that person handle it, and moreover, seemed to trust him unconditionally.
Daniel instinctively asked, "What if something goes wrong? Aren't you worried?"
Olivia just smiled and said, "It won't. He's always thorough in his work and will protect Bianca well."
Evelyn looked at Daniel, vaguely sensing something.
She'd had some suspicions before, but couldn't be certain at the time.
Until this moment, after hearing Olivia's words, Daniel's face showed obvious jealousy.
As a friend, Evelyn felt a bit sorry for him.
But in the end, her heart still sided with Olivia.
She immediately spoke up, saying, "Alright, since Mr. Hamilton has a plan, let's wait and see for now. If something really does go wrong, we can still step in.
Also, since we came all this way, let's stay and witness the ceremony."
Hearing the last part, both Olivia and Daniel looked at her.
Daniel said in a not-so-pleasant tone, "You want her to stay and watch Michael's engagement party? Are you okay?"
Wasn't that disgusting to watch?
Or Was Evelyn deliberately trying to make Olivia feel bad?
Evelyn smiled mysteriously and said, "I know it's not ideal, but there's going to be a good show today! It would be such a shame to leave!"
