Chapter 269 Not Allowed to Marry Someone Else
Olivia's expression was absolutely shocked. "Sophia can actually get pregnant?"
As the person who once treated Michael's leg, Olivia knew his physical condition better than anyone.
Michael's injury was to his leg. Although it didn't affect his fertility, Michael's treatment required long-term medication.
Some of those medications, when used long-term, could eliminate the possibility of having children.
Of course, it wasn't permanent.
If he wanted to have children again, he'd have to wait at least until his leg healed, then recover for another two years.
In fact, she was able to get pregnant back then because Michael had recovered and stopped taking the medication for a while.
But even then, the chances were low. Her ability to conceive Bianca was largely due to luck.
That's also why Olivia valued her precious Bianca so much.
But now, Sophia was pregnant too.
Wasn't Michael still treating his leg?
Olivia looked at Sophia in the distance with a somewhat strange expression.
Hearing this, Evelyn also felt something was off. She couldn't help but ask, "Olivia, what do you mean by that?"
Olivia didn't want to say more. She just shook her head and said, "Nothing. Other people's business, better not to mention it."
She had nothing to do with the Johnson family now. Whatever happened with Michael had nothing to do with her.
As for the child in Sophia's belly, that naturally had nothing to do with her either.
Hearing only half the gossip and not being able to continue was really frustrating.
Evelyn was dying of curiosity. She felt that Olivia definitely knew some inside information.
However, with Bianca still beside them, she held back her urge to keep asking and temporarily withdrew her attention.
Anyway, Sophia's child wasn't being born right now. Whatever gossip there was, she'd find out sooner or later.
Thinking this way, Evelyn settled down to eat with Olivia and the others.
Halfway through the meal, she went to the restroom. On her way back, passing by a certain private room, she suddenly heard a cry of surprise.
Normally, Evelyn wouldn't be so nosy.
But this voice sounded somewhat familiar, like she'd heard it somewhere before.
Just as Evelyn was trying to recall, strange sounds suddenly came from the private room.
The owner of that surprised voice lowered her tone and cursed in suppressed anger, "Are you crazy? Why did you come here?"
Then came a man's frivolous laugh, saying, "Of course I missed you. Doesn't it feel exciting having an affair with me right under his nose? You're really into it too."
"Mmm... be gentler..."
"How can I satisfy you if I'm too gentle? Don't you like it this way?"
"Bastard..."
Evelyn was absolutely shocked.
Holy crap!
In broad daylight, people were having an affair in a private room?
From their conversation, the woman's husband was also there?
This was beyond shameless!
Evelyn instinctively looked back and glanced at the private room, surprised to find the door wasn't closed properly—there was still a gap.
No wonder she could hear so clearly.
They didn't even close the door properly.
Evelyn felt embarrassed for them.
She was planning to just leave and not meddle in other people's business, but when she looked up, she vaguely saw inside the private room a man and woman's pant legs and half a swaying red dress.
The sounds inside became even more suggestive. The voice's owner was completely lost in the moment. Evelyn felt goosebumps all over her body.
She made a disgusted "ew" sound, not wanting to be grossed out any further, and quickly left.
After returning to her seat, the sounds from earlier seemed to still echo in her ears.
She pulled Olivia over and said, "Guess what I ran into on my way back?"
Seeing her exaggerated expression, Olivia found it a bit funny. "I don't know, what did you run into?"
Evelyn's expression looked like she'd swallowed a fly. She leaned close to Olivia's ear and told her about the scene she'd just witnessed.
After hearing it, Olivia also had an expression that was hard to describe. "You actually ran into something like that. They're really bold. This is a restaurant!"
"Right!" Evelyn's expression became even more disgusted. "At least this is a place for eating. If they're that desperate, why don't they just get a room?
Other customers might not know, but if they found out and ate in there, how gross would that be?"
At this point, she looked at the private room they were currently in and immediately got another wave of goosebumps.
She quickly said to Olivia, "Let's not come to this place anymore."
She had no appetite to continue eating the food on the table.
Olivia nodded. "Okay, we won't come here next time."
After saying this, she wiped Bianca's hands and, after confirming she was full, prepared to pay and leave.
It was already past eight in the evening.
Most of the restaurant's customers had also finished eating, and quite a few people were coming to pay.
When it was almost Olivia's turn, suddenly a voice pretending to be pleasantly surprised rang out from behind them.
"It's Bianca!"
Hearing this familiar voice, Olivia frowned and looked over to find it was Aiden.
Standing beside him were Michael and Sophia.
Olivia frowned and instinctively held Bianca tighter.
During their previous encounters, Bianca had been upset. Now that she'd forgotten about the Johnsons, she didn't know if seeing them again would affect her.
Olivia instinctively wanted to leave with the child first.
But Aiden, having finally seen them, wouldn't allow her to just leave like that.
He immediately ran forward, grabbed Olivia's dress, and said, "What a coincidence, Bianca! We haven't seen each other in so long. So you were eating here tonight too?
If I'd known, we could have eaten together."
Olivia looked at him coldly, her tone unhappy as she said, "Let go."
Aiden naturally wouldn't let go. He even said very obediently, "I have good news to share with little sister Bianca. I'll leave after I tell her!"
He pretended to look innocent, then looked at Bianca in Olivia's arms and said, "Bianca, you're going to be a big sister! My mom is pregnant with Daddy Michael's baby. That's also your little brother or sister. I'm so happy! What about you?"
Olivia's face seemed to freeze over with a layer of frost.
The moment Aiden opened his mouth, she understood—this bratty kid had come to show off.
She was somewhat worried about Bianca in her arms, so without thinking too much, she directly pulled her dress back from Aiden's hand.
Because her movement was so sudden, Aiden almost fell, fortunately caught by Sophia beside him.
Sophia's expression was somewhat unhappy, but she didn't show it too obviously.
Instead, she pretended to be gracious and said, "Olivia, Aiden just wanted to share good news with Bianca. Why get angry at a child?
He didn't mean any harm, he's just too happy."
Olivia didn't give her any face, saying emotionlessly, "I already told him to let go. Didn't you teach him how to listen?
Also, Bianca isn't interested in hearing this kind of news. There's no need to share it with her."
"I only gave birth to her. She doesn't have any younger brothers or sisters."
As soon as she said this, the first person to react even more impulsively than Sophia was Amelia behind them.
She scolded in a displeased low voice, "What kind of talk is that? No matter what, Bianca is still Michael's child! If not her younger brother or sister, then what?
Olivia, don't think I don't know—you're just jealous!
But no matter how much you deny it, the child in Sophia's belly is Michael's. That's an unchangeable fact!"
Hearing this, Olivia couldn't help but glance at Amelia and Michael beside her.
Michael stood tall there, his manner as aristocratic as always. His blue eyes fell on her, his gaze indifferent yet seemingly carrying a hint of scrutiny.
Olivia had no interest in understanding what he meant. She just felt a bit suspicious inside.
Amelia sounded so confident—could it be that Sophia really had broken through the situation she'd previously determined and gotten pregnant with the Johnson family's child?
That would be quite miraculous.
Could it be a medical miracle?
Olivia's sarcasm didn't come out. She just glanced at the several of them.
Seeing her silence, Amelia immediately became smug again.
Although she indeed hadn't liked Sophia recently, feeling she'd damaged the Johnson family's reputation.
But times had changed. Now Sophia's status was elevated by her pregnancy. If she could give the Johnson family a grandson, accepting her wouldn't be out of the question.
Thinking about how they would soon have a grandson, Amelia's tone became even more rude.
She looked at Bianca arrogantly and said, "Bianca, why don't you greet us when you see us?
Look at what your mother has taught you! No manners at all!"
Evelyn came back after paying and saw several people gathered here, so she quickened her pace. She just happened to hear Amelia's words.
She immediately became unhappy.
'This old bitch actually dares to bully Olivia and Bianca,' she cursed in her head.
Evelyn wasn't the type to take things lying down. She immediately retorted rudely, "Amelia, have some shame, will you? You want Bianca to greet you? Are you even worthy?
Does Bianca even know you? And you're here making a scene!"
As soon as Evelyn said this, Michael's brow furrowed.
Amelia was also stunned.
Sophia was also confused, not knowing what was going on, and looked at the child in Olivia's arms.
Bianca had been nestled in Olivia's arms the whole time, looking at these people who suddenly appeared with a consistently calm expression.
She wasn't affected at all by the presence of the Johnsons.
Moreover, the way she looked at them was like looking at strangers.
Amelia was puzzled.
What was going on?
Was she pretending not to know them?
Evelyn didn't care what they were thinking.
She softened her tone, leaned close to Bianca gently, and asked her, "Sweetie, come on, tell me, what's your daddy's name?"
Bianca didn't know why Evelyn was suddenly asking this question, but she still answered in a sweet childlike voice, "Daddy's name is Andrew..."
"Yes, good girl!" Evelyn's expression was quite satisfied. "That's right, your daddy's name is exactly that!"
Then she turned around and looked at the group rudely, saying, "Did you all hear that? From now on, when you see our Bianca, don't try to claim any relationship. Just take good care of your big grandson over there and the little one in that belly!"
As she said this, Evelyn's eyes coldly swept over Aiden and Sophia.
Amelia and Michael's expressions turned ashen and ugly.
Especially Michael—after Evelyn finished speaking, his gaze was extremely cold, looking at Olivia as if he wanted to bore a hole through her. "Olivia, Bianca is still young and doesn't know better. Don't you know better either? Why don't you correct her?"
Olivia's tone was also cold. She replied, "Why should I correct her? Michael, you're about to have your own family. Why do you still care about a daughter you never valued? Isn't that hypocritical?
You allow someone else's kid to call you daddy, but won't allow Bianca to call someone else that?
Michael, don't think too highly of yourself. When I remarry, my husband will be Bianca's father. That's a fact you can't change and have no say in!"
These words stirred up an inexplicable anger in Michael's heart.
Logically, he now had Sophia, and a child too. If nothing unexpected happened, they'd start preparing for the wedding soon. His marriage with Sophia would surely be happy and fulfilling as he imagined.
But when he heard Olivia say she would marry someone else, for some reason, Michael burned with rage. A dark thought even grew in his heart.
That he wouldn't allow Olivia to marry anyone else!
However, Olivia didn't want to deal with them anymore. She immediately prepared to leave with Bianca and Evelyn.
After taking two steps, she found that Evelyn hadn't followed. Olivia stopped and called out puzzled, "Evelyn?"
Evelyn didn't know what shocking thing she'd seen either. Her expression looked like she'd been struck by lightning.
Olivia was even more confused. "Evelyn, what's wrong with you?"
This call made Evelyn suddenly snap back to reality. "Ah... nothing, nothing. I'm coming."
Then, with an expression of disbelief, she caught up with Olivia and they left the restaurant together.
Outside the restaurant, the two quickly found where they'd parked.
After Olivia got in the car with Bianca, she started observing Bianca's condition.
As soon as Bianca got in the car, she opened her little backpack, took out the pink fox doll inside, and held it to play with. She didn't seem affected by the Johnsons at all.
Only then did Olivia quietly breathe a sigh of relief. God knows how nervous she'd been all the way out, afraid the child's condition would relapse because of them.
Fortunately, Bianca was fine.
And just now when looking at the Johnsons, her expression hadn't changed. It seemed the Johnsons had truly become strangers in her eyes.
Olivia didn't know if this was a good thing.
But as long as Bianca was okay, forgetting them was fine too.
Olivia didn't disturb her.
Only then did she look at Evelyn beside her and ask puzzled, "What were you standing there for just now? I called you and you didn't even respond."
