Chapter 194 Pull Up Your Pants, Let Me See
The two of them, along with David, left the banquet hall one after the other.
Daniel stood there, watching them leave, his eyes darkening.
Rodolfo also stared suspiciously at the man's figure, feeling an inexplicable nervousness.
'Is this student who just came back going to be taken away again?' he thought.
Olivia had no idea what Rodolfo was thinking.
She and Andrew walked outside together before she spoke to him, "Pull up your pant leg, let me take a look."
Andrew raised an eyebrow at her words.
David almost choked on his own saliva.
'What does Dr. Garcia want to do?
Is she being this direct?' His mind started racing with wild thoughts.
Andrew knew what Olivia was worried about.
He said helplessly, "I'm really not hurt."
But Olivia wouldn't believe it without seeing for herself.
There had been so much flying glass on the floor earlier, and even his custom-made suit pants were torn. Maybe the glass shards had cut the skin underneath.
Olivia insisted, "Let me see, really just one look. I need to make sure you're not injured."
Her attitude made it clear she wouldn't give up without checking.
Andrew had no choice but to agree, "Alright then, let's find a place to sit down first."
Only then did Olivia's expression soften.
The two walked to a sofa in a nearby lounge and sat down. Andrew rolled up his pant leg slightly.
David's eyes widened at the scene.
He's really letting her look?
Olivia didn't notice his shocked expression. Her eyes scanned Andrew's ankle area with concern, and sure enough, it was just as she had guessed.
At his ankle and lower leg, there were two small cuts, with some red marks nearby.
Olivia frowned, looking at Andrew. "You are hurt."
Andrew smiled gently, "It's not serious. It doesn't hurt that much, so I told you it was fine."
In his view, these minor injuries would heal by the time he got to the hospital later.
But Olivia took it seriously, "That won't do. It's still an injury. Sit for a bit, I'll treat it for you."
"No need, I'll clean it up when I get back. My pants are dirty, I need to change first. It's just a small injury, really no need to worry."
In Andrew's opinion, he still needed to wash up when he got back, so there was really no need to apply medicine now.
Olivia wanted to insist, but remembering the feeling from earlier, the suit pants were indeed wet, probably splashed by the spilled champagne.
Because the pants were dark-colored, it wasn't obvious.
Andrew looked at her furrowed brow and teased, "With that serious expression, people might think I'm losing too much blood."
Olivia scolded playfully, "What nonsense are you talking?"
Andrew laughed, "Alright, I won't talk nonsense. But really no need to treat it. The wine stains are a bit sticky and uncomfortable. If you apply medicine now, I'll just wash it off when I get back.
So let's not bother. You go back in. Mr. McCoy is here tonight, you should have a lot to talk about. If you're really worried, I'll let you know after I've applied the medicine later."
Seeing him say this, Olivia finally didn't insist.
Because tonight, she really couldn't leave early.
So she said to Andrew, "Okay, then be careful on your way back. And just now, thank you. If you hadn't appeared in time, I don't know what would have happened..."
She probably would have fallen into the pile of glass and been covered in blood.
But Andrew shook his head, "We should be glad I came at the right time. Otherwise, I really can't imagine what the consequences would have been."
Thinking back to that moment, if he hadn't entered the banquet hall and been close to Olivia, she would have been injured by all those glass shards.
Just thinking about that situation gave him a pang of fear.
This was unprecedented.
Olivia felt the same way, and was even more grateful to him.
For some reason, it seemed like every time she was in danger or needed help, Andrew was there!
What she owed him was growing more and more.
Because his pant leg was wet and sticky, Andrew was quite uncomfortable, so he left soon after.
Olivia also returned to the banquet, looking for Rodolfo.
As soon as she came back, she was quickly surrounded by people.
Things were different now. Once her identity as Rodolfo's student was revealed, plenty of people wanted to connect with her.
Whether it was her own brand or 'Medica Vitae Sect', her future was destined to be limitless.
Olivia knew this too, so facing the guests' toasts, she patiently handled them with composure.
Everyone quickly forgot about the earlier incident.
The banquet lasted for several hours.
By the time it ended, it was already past nine o'clock.
Christopher originally planned to arrange a car to take Rodolfo back, but Rodolfo declined.
"No need to trouble yourself. The driver from home will come pick me up soon. If not, there's still Olivia. You go ahead with your business, don't worry about me."
Seeing him say this, Christopher smiled and said, "Alright then, I won't disturb your reunion."
He could of course tell that Rodolfo still wanted to chat with Olivia.
Then he looked at Olivia and said politely, "Dr. Smith, when you have a chance to come to Harmony City, let's have dinner together."
Olivia nodded and smiled, "Yes, of course. Thank you for taking care of us tonight."
Christopher replied with a smile, "Dr. Smith, you're too kind. As one of the heads of the Medical Commerce Association, this is what I should do."
As they were talking, the car arrived.
Olivia helped Rodolfo walk to the car.
Daniel came over from behind and helped them open the car door.
Olivia seemed to remember him only then.
She glanced at Daniel and said, "Thanks."
Daniel also looked at her.
He actually had a lot of questions he wanted to ask her.
But he also knew that now wasn't a good time. Olivia had finally seen Rodolfo tonight, so she would definitely go back with him.
So regarding that man, though his curiosity was killing him, he held it back.
He smiled warmly and replied, "Why be polite with me? Have a good chat with Mr. McCoy. Be careful on the road, and send me a message when you arrive."
"Okay."
Olivia nodded and didn't say more to him, then got in the car with her teacher.
The car started quickly and soon left the hotel entrance.
The other guests who came out together all watched Rodolfo's car leave before dispersing.
When Daniel returned to the hotel, his mind was full of thoughts about how someone had beaten him to saving Olivia when she was in danger.
That man's existence seemed to have become a thorn in his heart.
Not obvious, but very uncomfortable.
He roughly knew tonight's guest list.
Except for that man.
Daniel thought that perhaps he was the owner of the seat Christopher had reserved at the main table.
Earlier, after Olivia left with that man, he had tried to get information about him from Christopher.
But no matter how he asked, Christopher remained mysterious.
Daniel narrowed his eyes.
Just got rid of Michael, and now there's another competitor?
That psychologist - he hadn't paid much attention before, but now it seemed... he couldn't help but pay attention.
Daniel's eyes darkened as he instructed Eric beside him, "Go investigate that psychologist treating Bianca, find out his background."
Eric had been feeling the low pressure emanating from his boss, and hearing this, immediately replied, "Yes, I'll do it right away!"
Olivia didn't know any of this.
She was currently on the way back with Rodolfo.
She looked at her teacher with concern and asked, "Mr. McCoy, you drank some wine tonight. Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
Rodolfo snorted proudly, "So you do care about me?"
Olivia looked at him with a smile and said, "What kind of talk is that? Of course I care about you. Are you still angry?
What happened back then was my fault. You can hit me, scold me, punish me - I'll accept it all, just please don't be angry anymore.
If you hurt yourself being angry over my mistakes, how worthless would that be?"
Rodolfo snorted coldly, not letting her off easy, "Easy to say nice things, but who was it that made me angry for five years!"
Although he had stood up for her tonight, Rodolfo still had some resentment.
Olivia naturally knew this, so she immediately tried to please him by massaging and patting his legs, her tone carrying a hint of wheedling as she said, "I really know I was wrong. Those five years I was immature, blind and foolish, and didn't listen to you.
So what happened afterward, I deserved it. I paid the price.
From now on, I'll never go against you or hurt your feelings again.
I'll work hard and focus on my career, carry forward the medical arts of Medica Vitae Sect, and become a student you can be proud of. I'll be good to you and never make you sad or upset again, okay?"
Rodolfo listened to her words, his deliberately stern face starting to crack.
Of course he didn't want to soften and forgive her so quickly.
But seeing Olivia's meek and pleasing manner, he couldn't harden his heart.
Finally, all his anger turned into a sigh.
Forget it, forget it. No matter what, she was his student.
Just like Simon said, she was a child he had watched grow up.
She had indeed paid the price for her mistakes and suffered for so many years.
Unless he could really be heartless enough to disown her.
Otherwise, in the end, wouldn't he be the one feeling heartbroken?
Rodolfo suddenly understood that saying about "debts to children."
Though not his biological child, he could relate.
Finally, he spoke reluctantly, "This is the last time, Olivia. I'm telling you, if there's one more time, I'll really, completely cut ties with you!
I'll act as if I never took you as a student in this lifetime! I won't go back on my word this time!"
Olivia heard the determination in Rodolfo's voice.
She understood that Rodolfo couldn't bear to lose her again.
Her eyes reddened as she nodded seriously and promised, "This time really, really won't happen again."
