Chapter 193 There Is Something Unclear Between Them
Andrew nodded. "Yeah, I'm really fine, don't worry."
His reassuring voice was especially warm and low.
Seeing that he didn't seem to be lying, Olivia finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Rodolfo then walked over to them, specifically to thank Andrew. "Thank you for saving Olivia."
There was a sense of relief in Rodolfo's tone, like someone who had just escaped disaster.
He said to Andrew, "If there's anything we can do for you in the future, just say the word. The Medica Vitae Sect will repay this favor."
Andrew could tell he genuinely cared about Olivia, and his words were sincere.
But he just waved his hand. "No need, it was nothing really, but..."
His tone shifted, his eyes suddenly darkened, and he turned to look at Christopher in the distance. "Such a grand banquet tonight, disrupted like this - it's really not acceptable. What do you say, Mr. Taylor?"
The people around didn't know Andrew's background, but they all heard a natural authority in his words.
Hearing this, Christopher hurried over and replied respectfully, "You're absolutely right. So... how would you suggest we handle this?"
Christopher was actually quite surprised, because he had initially received word that Andrew wouldn't be attending tonight.
Now facing his questioning, Christopher felt his scalp tingle.
David chimed in, "Everyone saw Ms. Brown push someone, and there's surveillance footage too. Deliberately hurting someone and nearly causing serious injury or death - of course we should call the police.
And we need to talk about compensation for emotional distress, plus all that fine wine and glassware. Also, so many guests were frightened - shouldn't she apologize for that too?"
Bringing this up, Rodolfo said angrily, "An apology isn't enough! This is outrageous, daring to hurt my student like that!
If we don't get a proper explanation for this, it's not over!"
After hearing David and Rodolfo's words, Sophia's face turned deathly pale.
She finally realized the situation she was in.
With her current status, which of these people could she afford to offend?
Forget the people - just the compensation alone.
She didn't have that much money to pay right now.
Sophia began to regret her impulsive behavior earlier.
If she couldn't handle this properly, what awaited her would be prison.
No! That absolutely couldn't happen!
Sophia panicked and almost instinctively looked at Michael, trying to ask him for help.
But Michael's gaze was completely fixed on Olivia, staring intently at her and the man beside her, his eyes practically shooting fire.
That guy again...
Someone whose background couldn't even be investigated, repeatedly appearing around his daughter and ex-wife!
Just now he had seen very clearly - in that critical moment, that man had protected Olivia almost recklessly.
How could their relationship possibly be innocent?
Now, with Olivia standing beside him, the two of them looked inexplicably well-matched.
It was painful to watch.
Sophia saw the anger in Michael's eyes.
Following his gaze, her heart nearly sank to the bottom.
She felt that this time, she might really be finished.
After hearing David and Rodolfo's words, Christopher said without any hesitation, "Alright, I'll take care of it right now."
Only then did Michael snap back to attention.
Sophia was someone he had brought, and if she was taken away, it would be the Johnson Group's reputation at stake too.
So she couldn't be taken away! Michael stepped forward and said, "Mr. Taylor, the guests are still here. If it comes to calling the police, it won't look good.
I hope you can give the Johnson Group some face. The Johnson Group is willing to cover all the costs of tonight's banquet as a gesture of sincerity, and we won't neglect the hotel's compensation either.
As for... the apology that Ms. Smith and Mr. McCoy want, I'll make sure Sophia does that too."
After speaking, he looked coldly at Sophia and said, "Go apologize for your behavior."
Hearing the first part, Sophia felt touched, thinking he hadn't forgotten about her.
But when she heard that last sentence, her expression showed disbelief. "You want me to apologize to her?"
Why should she!
If it weren't for Olivia, she wouldn't have lost control and done something so stupid!
It was all Olivia's fault!
Sophia didn't want to apologize. She stood there without moving.
Michael's face darkened, his eyes looking at her were ice-cold, and his whole body radiated a frightening pressure.
He emphasized in a low voice, "Apologize! Don't make me say it a third time!"
Sophia's face went pale, but she didn't dare refuse.
She knew that if she didn't comply, Michael might really abandon her.
Who else could help her then?
So she could only, with a pale face, apologize for her earlier behavior.
"I'm sorry, I spoke out of turn and acted impulsively just now."
Hearing this, Daniel scoffed, "That's it? I don't hear any sincerity!"
Sophia, swallowing her humiliation, had to grit her teeth and bow, saying again, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have spoken disrespectfully to Mr. McCoy earlier, and I shouldn't have lost control and pushed Ms. Smith.
I was hit and lost my composure. I never intended to knock over those wine towers."
But Daniel didn't think that was enough.
He continued, "Is that all? When apologizing to someone, you should at least say, 'I hope Ms. Smith and Mr. McCoy can forgive me,' right?
What, you don't even know how to apologize? Do you need someone to teach you?"
Of course Sophia knew.
She just felt it was too humiliating, too embarrassing, so she didn't want to say it.
Now that Daniel kept pointing it out, she was furious inside, her eyes reddening, but she didn't dare resist and could only be forced to repeat it again.
"I'm sorry. I hope Ms. Smith and Mr. McCoy can forgive me."
After she finished, Michael spoke up, looking at Olivia and asking, "Is this satisfactory for Mr. McCoy and Ms. Smith?"
Olivia met his gaze coldly.
She understood that Michael was doing this to protect Sophia and prevent them from calling the police.
What had just happened really couldn't be used to convict Sophia.
After all, she could claim she lost control after being hit and accidentally hurt someone, not that it was intentional harm.
Considering that she might also have to go to the police station to give a statement and such, Olivia really didn't want to continue entangling with these two.
After all, there were so many people present, and the business association event wasn't over yet.
If the police got involved, the banquet would be forced to stop, and the scene could get really ugly.
Either way, she needed to give Christopher some face.
So Olivia said coldly, "I don't accept your apology, but Sophia, I hope this is the last time you speak disrespectfully to my teacher. If there's a next time, I definitely won't let it go!"
As for Michael, she didn't even bother to look at him.
Seeing her willing to let it go, Michael didn't say anything else. Instead, he nodded to Rodolfo and said, "Then we'll take our leave."
After speaking, he turned and strode away.
Seeing him leave, Sophia hurried to follow behind him with her swollen face, looking miserable.
After the two left, the guests at the scene all sighed.
"The Johnson family's reputation has really been completely ruined by Sophia."
"Exactly, even Michael looks bad."
"Who told him to find such a woman?"
"Really bad luck."
Olivia stood beside Rodolfo. He now spoke up, saying to everyone, "Sorry, today because of some family matters, we've given you all something to laugh about. Shall we continue the banquet? Don't let what just happened affect your mood."
Since Rodolfo himself had spoken, no one dared to object.
The guests quickly smiled and agreed, "It's okay."
They even turned around to comfort them.
"Today was truly an undeserved disaster for Ms. Smith. Mr. McCoy and Ms. Smith, don't let unimportant people affect your mood."
"Exactly, getting angry over people like that isn't worth it."
Amid everyone's comforting words, people returned to their original seats.
Olivia also said to Christopher, "Sorry for causing you trouble."
Christopher waved his hand, not minding at all. "What are you saying, Ms. Smith? They were the ones bullying people. Let's take our seats too. Mr. Hamilton, you..."
He looked at Andrew, his eyes showing some respect.
But Andrew said, "I won't sit. I have things to do. I just came over to say hello and was planning to leave anyway."
"Is that so?" Hearing this, Christopher didn't insist.
Rodolfo spoke up at this point, asking Christopher, "Who is this young man?"
"He..."
Christopher looked at Rodolfo, then at Andrew, unsure how to introduce him for a moment.
Olivia took over, quickly saying, "His name is Andrew. He's Bianca's psychologist."
"Oh, is that so?" Rodolfo calmly sized up the person in front of him.
With his years of experience, he could see that this young man was clearly more than just a psychologist.
His outstanding appearance, his natural nobility, the authority in his words earlier, and Christopher's attitude toward him - all showed he was no simple person.
However, Rodolfo didn't show it.
He spoke again to thank him, "Thank you for saving Olivia earlier. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unthinkable."
Andrew said gently, "You're too kind. I just happened to be there, it was nothing... But I've heard so much about you. It's my honor to meet you today."
His manner was composed. When he extended his hand to Rodolfo, he was neither humble nor arrogant, yet warm and polite, giving people a very comfortable feeling.
Even Rodolfo couldn't help but look at him a few more times.
He really was an excellent young man.
He graciously shook hands with him.
After greeting Rodolfo, Andrew didn't stay any longer.
Before leaving, he said to Olivia, "I'll head back now. Don't let tonight's events affect your mood."
Olivia nodded and said with a smile, "I won't. Let me walk you out!"
"Okay." Andrew looked at her and didn't refuse.
