Chapter 68 Michael, Are You Even Worthy?
Michael never expected Olivia to show up at this hour to talk about this.
Usually, when he was working in his study, she'd bring him health tonics or fruit.
But tonight, she was different—she was furious.
Michael's handsome brows furrowed, his eyes turned icy, and the anger that had been simmering inside him rose to the surface.
Olivia's face was stone-cold, her gaze sharp.
She met his eyes, and there was no trace of warmth or love in them.
Michael felt deeply unhappy, and he realized something.
Olivia had changed a lot.
She wore clothes she never would have worn before, mingled with people she never would have met, and her career seemed to have taken a new turn.
Before, he found Olivia dull, bland, as plain as water.
But now, Olivia was like a gem that had been polished, beginning to shine brilliantly.
Michael's eyes darkened as he suppressed his anger and picked up the divorce papers.
They were the same as the ones sent to his office before.
She had indeed given up on the marital assets and everything else, only wanting custody of Bianca.
Leaving with nothing—how carefree!
Michael sneered, closed the divorce papers, and said coldly, "Alright, let's talk."
Olivia, thinking he had come to his senses, said, "Then sign at the end quickly. I don't think you have the patience to go to court. Let's be straightforward and save each other's time."
Michael leaned back in his chair, indifferent, "Who said I was going to sign? Divorce, and only custody? You make it sound easy. Bianca is my daughter too, and I won't give up custody.
Moreover, I don't think you can take care of her alone after the divorce."
Olivia realized she had underestimated Michael's shamelessness.
Her eyes exploded with coldness, and she sneered, "I can't take care of her, but you can? Do you have the right to ask for Bianca's custody? Since she was born, how many times have you looked at her?
Because she's a child with autism, you feel justified in not communicating with her, and when you do think of her, you give her some fake concern.
As her father, what responsibilities have you fulfilled?
Over the years, your concern for her is less than what you show for Sophia's son!
At her birthday party, you even adopted a godson in front of her, torturing her heart...
Do you think she understands nothing? Feels nothing?
Michael, do you deserve to ask for her custody?"
This final question was like a sharp sword piercing Michael's chest.
Michael's face darkened, but he didn't relent, "So what? She has Johnson blood in her veins, and no matter what, she belongs to the Johnson family. If you really want a divorce, fine! Leave yourself, but don't think about taking Bianca!"
Olivia trembled with anger.
At that moment, she understood more deeply that Michael didn't care about Bianca at all.
If he had any love for her, how could he be so cold?
Clearly not loving, yet wanting to keep her in the Johnson family to torment.
Maybe, he never thought about Bianca's well-being!
"Michael, how did I ever fall for someone like you?" Her voice was filled with disgust, almost impossible to hide.
Michael was instantly enraged.
He could accept Olivia's series of rebellions to get his attention.
But he couldn't stand seeing her show this expression.
He suddenly stood up, grabbed Olivia, and pinned her to the desk. His other hand gripped her chin tightly, his fingers digging in as if trying to crush her bones. "Olivia, say that again, I dare you."
Olivia hadn't expected him to become violent, her brows furrowing in pain.
But she wasn't afraid, looking at Michael with growing hatred.
Michael's forehead veins bulged, his eyes cold and fierce, his fingers tightening inch by inch.
He looked like he wanted to force her to change her words!
Olivia's gaze was stubborn, her hatred deepening.
In the end, it was almost terrifying.
Michael abruptly let go, his voice icy, "Get out!"
"No need for you to say it, I'm leaving anyway." She couldn't stay here a moment longer.
Since they couldn't stand each other, she would move out.
Samuel had also said that if filing for divorce didn't work, they could live apart.
Since Emily's funeral, she had wanted to pack up and leave countless times.
If not for worrying about Bianca's adjustment to a new environment and her love for the playground, she wouldn't have delayed this long.
Now, Bianca was better; maybe it was time to leave.
After leaving the study, Olivia immediately went to her room to pack.
Bianca had just finished her bath and hadn't slept yet, playing on the carpet with Lightning.
Olivia took the opportunity to talk to Bianca, "Sweetie, how about we stay at your godmother's house for a few days?"
Bianca blinked, a bit puzzled, as if asking, "Why go to godmother's house?"
Olivia coaxed her, "Let's go play with her for a few days!"
Bianca nodded but seemed hesitant.
Olivia understood her thoughts at a glance and quickly said, "Don't worry, we'll take Lightning, your favorite pink fox, art supplies, harmonica, and music sheets."
Bianca immediately accepted.
Olivia breathed a sigh of relief and quickly called Evelyn to explain the situation.
Evelyn responded, "Hang tight, I'm coming right over."
Olivia packed quickly.
She didn't take the things Emily had bought her, only a few changes of clothes, mostly Bianca's belongings.
Once packed, she took the luggage downstairs and returned to carry Bianca.
As they were leaving, Yara was alarmed.
Yara asked concernedly, "Ms. Johnson, where are you going this late?"
Olivia replied, "Moving out, Yara. Thank you for taking care of Bianca all these years!"
Yara was shocked but not entirely surprised.
Having cared for Bianca for so many years, she naturally saw how Michael treated them coldly.
But it was too unsafe to leave so late, dragging luggage and taking a child.
Yara wanted to say something, but Michael happened to come out of the study and saw this scene.
His face darkened, and he strode over, shouting coldly, "Olivia, there's a limit to your tantrums. It's so late, have you considered Bianca's safety?"
Olivia mocked, "Pretending to care? You actually care about her safety? When you brought Sophia's son home and repeatedly hurt her, did you consider the danger?"
Michael's face darkened with anger, "What does this have to do with Aiden? You're being unreasonable! Today, try taking her out of this door!"
Olivia ignored him.
She carried Bianca, dragged the luggage, and headed for the door.
The door had just opened when a large hand pushed it back.
"Olivia, are you done?" Michael's voice was icy.
Evelyn had just been let in by security and arrived.
Seeing this, Evelyn forced the door open, protecting Olivia and Bianca, saying, "Michael, you're the one who won't stop! How can someone like you exist? You go out every day with your mistress, ignoring your wife, and still expect others to stay here with you? Do you have any shame?"
Michael's aura was terrifying, his gaze cold and oppressive. "When did my family's matters become your business? Get out!"
Evelyn, fearless, glared back, "Who wants to stay in this place! I'll leave, but I'll take Olivia and Bianca with me!
I'll tell you, Michael, if you dare stop us, I'll make a scene and let all the neighbors see.
If it makes the news, I wonder if your family's reputation will be enough!"
Michael's face was very ugly, his gaze cold and oppressive.
Anyone else would have their legs shaking.
But Evelyn was unfazed, saying to Olivia, "Take Bianca to the car and wait, I'll help with the luggage."
Olivia nodded, carrying Bianca, and left without looking back.
Lightning followed nimbly on its four little legs.
Michael ultimately couldn't stop them.
That night, they arrived at Evelyn's place around midnight.
Bianca had fallen asleep on the way.
After settling Bianca in bed, Evelyn had prepared wine and a few dishes, "Let's celebrate, escaping the nightmare and leaving the jerk behind."
Olivia, who usually had little tolerance for alcohol, didn't refuse this time.
After this night, she was indeed exhausted.
But leaving that cold prison, her heart was filled with endless relief.
A rare indulgence was fine.
She sat on the sofa, drinking with Evelyn.
Evelyn laughed, "My three-bedroom may not be a big villa, but it's definitely cozy, isn't it nice?"
Olivia nodded, "It's a million times better!"
Evelyn felt a bit guilty for Olivia and Bianca, "I used to have a villa too. If I hadn't fought with my dad, freezing my cards and property, I wouldn't be like this!
But don't worry, I'll find a chance to sneak back for the deed, then you and Bianca can move to a big house!"
Olivia was amused by Evelyn's words.
But she didn't accept.
She didn't want Evelyn to support her and Bianca.
Moreover, she had already planned her way out before moving.
"This place has a good layout. I'm considering buying a unit here. Does this complex have available units? Bianca and I can settle here and be neighbors with you!"
Evelyn's eyes lit up, "Great idea! I've always wanted to live near you. Your cooking is so good. I can eat at your place every day. Of course, I won't freeload. I can help pick up Bianca when you're busy."
Evelyn and Olivia hit it off, and since Evelyn was familiar with the developers here, she took on the task of asking about prices immediately.
