Chapter 45 What I Give, Do You Have Any Opinions?
The guests watched the scene unfold with amused expressions.
Was someone from the Johnson family really involved in theft?
If so, it would be incredibly embarrassing.
And to be caught and expelled by their own family.
Chase was definitely ruthless.
Olivia could feel all the eyes on her.
Her face was cold, but inside she felt no fear, just irony.
She was still a member of the Johnson family, and here was Chase making a big show of trampling her dignity.
But his actions were nothing compared to Michael's cruelty.
Michael's indifferent attitude was basically admitting she had stolen the invitation.
Olivia stood in a heavy atmosphere, her icy demeanor almost freezing into frost.
Just then, the security guard arrived.
After hearing Chase's words, he didn't dare delay.
Today's guests were all distinguished, and sneaking in by stealing an invitation was unacceptable.
Still, the guard didn't act rashly.
After all, Olivia's elegant attire suggested she wasn't just anyone.
"Miss, could you please tell me your name so we can check the guest list?" he asked politely.
Olivia was about to speak when Chase cut in, "Her name is Olivia Smith."
The guard nodded and quickly checked the list.
A moment later, he confirmed there was no Olivia on it.
His expression turned serious. "Miss, this is an invite-only event. You need to leave immediately."
This caused a stir among the guests.
"Did she really sneak in with a stolen invitation?"
"Mr. Chase Johnson did the right thing, standing up for his family."
"How disgraceful! How could Mr. Michael Johnson marry such a woman?"
"No wonder she's never been seen at public events; she's just a pretty face with no substance."
Sophia listened to the guests' gossip, her eyes filled with schadenfreude.
She hadn't expected Olivia to do something so foolish!
Olivia had some ground to stand on before, but this theft pushed her into a bottomless pit!
Michael was naturally displeased with the comments.
But he still had no intention of helping Olivia.
Olivia shouldn't have come here to cause trouble!
Olivia faced the crowd's hostility with a calm and composed demeanor. "Sir, not all guests here today needed an invitation to enter, correct?"
The guard was slightly taken aback and replied, "That's true. The highest-tier guests only need to show the Miller family's platinum card."
The platinum card was well-known among the guests.
It symbolized membership in the elite circle established by the Miller family.
It was said there were only ten platinum cards.
"Olivia, are you trying to say you have the Miller family's platinum card?" Chase sneered.
His face was almost visibly mocking!
The Miller family was a powerhouse in the military, political, and business sectors, and their platinum card was extremely limited.
Even the Johnson family had only one, which Emily had while she was alive.
Michael could have used it, but he chose not to, to avoid any special treatment in front of Sophia.
Now, Olivia's claim seemed laughable.
The guests' faces showed ridicule.
Sophia maintained her innocent image, "Olivia, stop it. Not everyone can have a platinum card. Don't make a fool of yourself and embarrass Michael."
Michael added, "Olivia, enough with your antics! Go home now!"
Olivia laughed coldly.
Their behavior was utterly disgusting!
The guard looked troubled, "Ms. Smith, you see..."
"Don't worry, I won't make things difficult for you! She was right about one thing that the platinum card isn't for everyone, but I do have one!" With that, Olivia pulled out a card from her bag in front of everyone.
It was delivered earlier by Daniel's secretary along with some documents.
The guard quickly took the card to inspect it.
After confirming its authenticity, he respectfully and apologetically said, "This is indeed the Miller family's platinum card. I apologize for any offense, Ms. Smith."
"What? How is that possible?"
Everyone was shocked.
The most affected were Michael, Chase, and Sophia.
Sophia couldn't believe it.
How could Olivia have the Miller family's platinum card?
Chase was equally skeptical and blurted out, "Olivia, did you steal my brother's platinum card?"
Olivia found it laughable, "Do you even listen to yourself? There's a limit to stupidity, and you've surpassed it. I don't want to waste my breath on you!"
Chase realized his mistake.
If she had stolen the invitation, why would she need the platinum card?
It was redundant.
His face turned pale, unable to believe Olivia had such a thing.
Michael frowned and directly asked, "Where did you get this card?"
"Does it concern you?" Olivia's tone was icy and sharp, "I don't need to report to you."
Michael's face darkened.
The only possibility he could think of was Olivia using some shady means.
The guests were also bewildered by the sudden turn of events.
"This… reversed so quickly?"
"I knew Mrs. Johnson didn't seem like that kind of person, but you wouldn't listen!"
"Regardless, Mr. Chase Johnson accusing his brother's wife and Mr. Michael Johnson standing by isn't right."
"But how did she get the platinum card? It's clear Mr. Michael Johnson and Mr. Chase Johnson didn't know."
As the guests were puzzled, a calm voice came from the entrance, "I gave her the card. Do you have any objections?"
Everyone looked towards the voice and saw Daniel entering.
Daniel was dressed in an elegant suit, his presence noble and imposing, his handsome face showing strong displeasure.
He walked straight to Olivia's side, his aura powerful and cold, "I just arrived and heard someone was trying to expel my partner. I wondered who had the nerve, only to find it was Mr. Michael Johnson and Mr. Chase Johnson! Your actions have truly been eye-opening!"
