Chapter 42: I Say, We Divorce!

Chapter 42 I Say, We Divorce!

Olivia felt incredibly grateful and thanked David over and over.

David waved it off. "Hey, it's no biggie."

He had a flight to catch back to Harmony City, so after handing over the items, he left in a hurry.

Exhausted from the day, Olivia decided to head home after saying goodbye to Matthew.

On the way back, Bianca nestled in her arms and drifted off to sleep.

Even in her deep slumber, Bianca clutched her harmonica tightly.

Seeing this, Olivia didn't have the heart to take it away.

Though the day had been tiring and she hadn't met the mysterious psychologist, it had still been pretty productive.

This was the most relaxed she had felt in days.

Once they got home, Olivia, feeling at ease, fell asleep beside Bianca.

When they woke up, it was already eight in the evening, and both were starving.

After freshening up, Olivia hurriedly took Bianca downstairs for dinner.

She was completely unprepared to see Aiden playing on the carpet in the living room.

Michael was sitting on the nearby couch, legs crossed, reviewing some documents.

Under the warm light, the scene between Aiden and Michael appeared harmonious and cozy, almost like a father and son.

Olivia's expression darkened as she blurted out, "Why did you bring him here again?"

After the last incident, she thought Michael understood her wariness towards Aiden.

Michael frowned and looked at Olivia, his tone cold and tinged with displeasure. "Sophia's swamped with a new project, and Aiden just got over being sick. There's no one to look after him at home, so I brought him here. Do you really need to be so hostile towards a kid?"

Olivia's face remained blank.

Shouldn't she be wary of someone with ulterior motives?

Aiden, pretending to be well-behaved, said, "Aunt Olivia, I'm sorry for intruding. Don't worry, I'll be good and play with Bianca."

Bianca clearly felt uneasy around him and instinctively moved closer to Olivia, not wanting to engage.

Aiden tried to approach her, saying, "Bianca, I brought lots of new toys. Want to share some?"

Olivia didn't hesitate to pick Bianca up, saying coldly, "Stay away from Bianca. She doesn't want to play with someone like you!"

Michael's face immediately darkened.

He didn't lash out at Olivia but said, "Aiden, didn't you want to assemble your Transformers? Come over, I'll help you."

Aiden feigned hesitation for a moment before eagerly returning to his spot, unable to hide his happiness. "Thanks, Uncle Michael."

Seeing their "father-son" interaction, Olivia found herself somewhat desensitized to Michael's favoritism.

Maybe because it happened so often, it no longer surprised her.

As long as Bianca wasn't hurt, she didn't care.

Soon, Olivia took Bianca to the dining room for dinner.

Afterward, not wanting to share the same space with Michael and Aiden, she took Bianca to the music room to practice the harmonica.

Olivia didn't know how to play, so she found a tutorial on her phone for Bianca.

It was then that Olivia realized she had forgotten the sheet music.

She remembered leaving it on the table when they came home earlier.

Olivia stood up and said to Bianca, "I will go get the sheet music. Wait here."

Bianca nodded obediently, looking excited.

Olivia smiled and ruffled her hair before quickly heading to the living room.

To her surprise, the sheet music was gone from the table.

She wondered if Yara had taken it.

Her eyes inadvertently landed on Aiden.

The next moment, she saw that Aiden had used the sheet music as a mat for his assembled Transformers.

What angered her even more was the painting beside it.

The painting was a gift from the mysterious psychologist for Bianca, brought home earlier tonight, tucked inside the sheet music.

Olivia was shocked and hurriedly rushed over to retrieve the painting.

Originally, the painting of Bianca and a puppy was vibrant and lively, but now the paint was smeared beyond recognition.

One corner was even torn.

The entire painting was ruined.

Olivia's anger surged, her hand trembling as she held the painting.

"Who told you to mess with Bianca's painting? Didn't your mom teach you not to touch other people's stuff when you're a guest? Do you have any manners?" She furiously scolded him and yanked the sheet music out from under the toy.

The recently assembled Transformer, unstable, crashed to the ground and shattered.

Coincidentally, Michael had just returned from a phone call outside and witnessed this scene.

His tone immediately turned harsh as he demanded, "Olivia, what are you doing? What did Aiden do to deserve you smashing his toy? Aren't you a bit too old for such childish behavior?"

Olivia's anger hadn't subsided, her eyes red with fury. "Why don't you ask what he did? If you bring him here, why don't you watch him? He ruined Bianca's painting!"

Did he even understand how important that painting was to Bianca?

Bianca had cherished it all morning.

It was the key to helping her overcome her autism!

Michael was momentarily stunned, then turned to Aiden, "Were you being naughty again?"

Aiden, looking scared and pitiful, said with teary eyes, "I'm sorry, Uncle Michael. I didn't know it was a painting. I thought it was useless, so I took it. I didn't mean to…"

As soon as he finished, tears started streaming down his face.

Michael's heart softened instantly.

He turned back to Olivia, his tone displeased, "It's just a painting. Is it that big of a deal?"

Olivia felt a chill run down her spine.

To Bianca, that painting was incredibly important, yet he dismissed it with a casual "is it a big deal?"

No matter how serious Aiden's mistakes were, would he always brush them off?

At that moment, Olivia suddenly felt sorry for Bianca.

Her father, whom she had always hoped for, treated her like this!

Olivia gritted her teeth and said coldly, "Of course it's a big deal! Do you know how crucial this painting is for Bianca's recovery? Michael, do you even care? Do you feel accomplished always defending someone else's child? If that's the case, then let's get divorced. I can't live like this anymore!"

After being let down so many times, her patience had finally reached its limit!

No matter how Michael treated her, she could gradually become indifferent.

But Bianca didn't need such a heartless father!

Michael seemed stunned by her mention of divorce, his expression momentarily blank.

But soon, his face twisted with a terrifying anger.

It was as if Olivia had said something unforgivable.

He strode forward and grabbed Olivia's hand. "Say that again?"

Olivia looked him in the eye and repeated, "I said… let's get divorced."

Michael seemed enraged.

He laughed bitterly, "Olivia, do you think you have the right to ask for a divorce? Back then, you deliberately got pregnant and had Grandma force me to marry you. Now you think you can ask for a divorce?"

Olivia felt like she had heard something unbelievable. "Deliberately got pregnant? Michael, you were the one who got drunk first!"

Michael retorted viciously, "Even if that's the case, couldn't you take a pill? As a doctor, couldn't you take emergency contraception? Do I need to teach you that?"

Olivia's face turned ashen.

At that moment, she realized her suspicions from the funeral were true.

That night, he had called out for Sophia.

Michael didn't just mistake her for someone else; he never wanted the child at all!

Aiden, hearing them argue about divorce, had a gleam in his eye.

He had caused trouble several times with this goal in mind.

Was it finally going to work?

No one noticed his change in expression.

Olivia, stunned for a long time, finally shook off Michael's hand, "So that's how you've always seen me? No wonder… No wonder you don't care about me or Bianca! If that's the case, wouldn't divorce be exactly what you want? You could be with Sophia. Why drag this out?"

Michael's face darkened further, his tone harsh, "Shut up. Don't ever mention divorce again."

Ignoring him, Olivia walked over to comfort Bianca.

Watching his retreating figure, Olivia's heart turned cold.

No matter what, she was going to get this divorce!
