Chapter 27 You Think You Can Fight Me?
Realizing this, Olivia's face turned pale.
She hadn't really thought about it before, hadn't seen it with her own eyes, how close Sophia and Michael had gotten.
But now, with Michael drunk, mistaking her for someone else, and saying such suggestive things.
How could he be so familiar unless they were very close?
Olivia's face darkened, and she started trembling.
Michael didn't notice and took a few more steps forward, trying to pull her into his arms.
Olivia felt a strong sense of revulsion. "Michael, open your eyes and look carefully, I'm not Sophia!"
With that, she raised her hand and shoved him out of the bathroom, slamming the door shut.
She didn't know when Michael left that night.
All she knew was that while she was showering, she kept scrubbing the places Michael had touched.
Just thinking about his hands possibly touching another woman made her feel filthy!
She barely slept that night.
The next morning, she woke up feeling awful.
She forced herself to get up and have breakfast with Bianca, only to unexpectedly run into Michael in the dining room.
Michael was clearly sober, back to his usual meticulous self.
His posture was straight, his dining etiquette slow and deliberate, every movement exuding elegance and nobility, with no trace of last night's drunkenness.
When he saw Olivia, his expression remained cold and distant.
It was as if he had forgotten what happened last night!
Olivia didn't care when she saw him.
She didn't want to think about last night either.
After sitting down with Bianca, she focused on helping her eat.
Maybe because she hadn't seen Michael for a few days, Bianca was a bit excited this morning.
After breakfast, Bianca quietly followed Michael into the study when Olivia wasn't looking.
Michael came to get some documents before heading to the office and was surprised to see Bianca following him. He asked indifferently, "Is there something you need?"
Bianca nodded, lifting her pink fox plushie high, and said in her sweet childlike voice, "This is my friend... I wanted to introduce to you."
Michael was stunned for a moment, but before he could say anything, Bianca raised the succulent plant in her other hand and said, "This is also a good friend... and there's the little butterfly, the flowers, the grass... they all like me too."
Michael's brows instantly furrowed.
His face darkened as he went to find Olivia and questioned her, "Has Dr. Anderson not been treating Bianca lately? Do you know her current state? She can't even tell the difference between living and non-living things. How are you taking care of her?"
Olivia frowned at his barrage of criticism and responded calmly, "Is there a problem? She's been doing well lately, becoming more communicative and showing more emotions. Her autism is improving!"
"You call that improvement?" Michael's face was full of anger, and his tone was filled with dissatisfaction with Olivia.
He seemed too impatient to argue with her and took out his phone to call Harper.
The call was quickly answered.
Michael got straight to the point, "Dr. Anderson, I hired you at a high price to treat Bianca, and this is how you neglect her condition?"
Harper was taken aback but quickly replied, "Mr. Johnson, you must be mistaken. I've been dedicated to Bianca's treatment and have never neglected it! However, there have been two missed sessions recently, but that's not my fault. Mrs. Johnson wouldn't let me in!"
Michael's face darkened even more. "Dr. Anderson, please come over now," he said curtly before hanging up. He turned to Olivia, his eyes like daggers. "Why didn't you let Dr. Anderson treat Bianca? Are you questioning my decision? If this continues, Bianca's condition will only get worse."
Olivia found his accusation absurd.
He rarely showed concern for Bianca, and now, on a whim, he was criticizing her without understanding the situation.
Fury boiled inside Olivia, and she snapped back, "I don't need an unprofessional doctor treating Bianca. She hasn't provided the proper guidance a psychologist should! Her actions violate the principles of proper psychological treatment!"
Michael dismissed her words entirely. "Olivia, I know you're a doctor, but you're not an authority in psychology. Dr. Anderson is. I advise you not to interfere too much, or you'll only harm Bianca!"
As they argued, Bianca came down holding her little plant and fox plushie.
Michael took a deep breath, knelt down, and instructed Bianca, "Bianca, you need to listen to Dr. Anderson and let her treat you. That's the only way you'll get better. From now on, don't play with these things anymore, understand?"
His last sentence was a command, leaving no room for argument.
Bianca clearly resisted. She didn't like Harper. But she wanted to be a good girl.
For a moment, Bianca was torn.
Seeing this broke Olivia's heart. She quickly scooped Bianca up, shielding her from Michael's pressure.
Michael's gaze was icy as he warned, "Olivia, you'd better not gamble with Bianca's well-being, or you'll regret it!"
With that, he stormed out of the house.
Later, Harper arrived as scheduled.
As soon as she walked in, she looked around.
Seeing Michael wasn't there, she sneered, "You refused treatment and didn't let me see her, but now you have to call me back? Did Mr. Johnson scold you again? Olivia, do you really think you can compete with me?"
Olivia stared at her smug face, not backing down. "Even if you're called back, I still won't let you touch Bianca! If you want to treat her, show me the treatment and medication records. I'll have a professional agency evaluate the treatment plan. I bet you won't dare!"
Harper's face changed slightly at these words. But she quickly regained her composure and coldly replied, "Why should I give you the treatment records? Mr. Johnson hired me, and if anyone can see them, it's him. You're not my client and have no right."
Olivia looked at her like she was an idiot. "I'm the child's mother. If I don't have the right, who does? As a psychologist, don't you even know that basic principle? I have the right to see them, and I can have them evaluated to see if you're fit to be a psychologist! If not, I can even call the cops and have you arrested for harming my daughter! Try me if you don't believe it!"
Her eyes were sharp and full of authority as she spoke.
Harper was visibly shaken, her heart racing.
Why had Olivia's demeanor suddenly become so strong after just a few days?
She had been so timid before, but now her presence was intimidating.
Harper forced herself to ask, "So, you're not letting me treat her, right?"
Olivia didn't waste words. "Either show the plan or leave!"
"Fine, let's see how you explain this to Mr. Johnson!" Harper spat out furiously before storming out.
