Chapter 263 Missing Him
Olivia froze for a moment, then realized what Rodolfo meant.
She instinctively wanted to explain.
Just then, Bianca popped up out of nowhere, asking with delight on her face, "Really? We're going to see Daddy? I want to go too!"
During this time, because Rodolfo was sick, Olivia had been incredibly busy and couldn't spare attention for anything else.
Bianca knew she was busy, so she'd been very good and hadn't made a fuss.
Though she had asked Olivia, "Why doesn't Daddy come see me anymore?"
But Olivia had brushed it off each time.
It just so happened that on Andrew's side, Finnegan had gotten injured and was recovering at home.
Once he'd finally gotten a bit better, Andrew was called away on a mission and still hadn't come back.
Olivia had lost contact with him for several days now!
Before, there had been so much going on, but when she occasionally stopped to rest, she'd find herself spacing out.
Andrew had told her he would come back.
But she hadn't expected him to be gone this long.
It seemed like every time they were in touch, he was busy. Even when they chatted or texted, they could barely exchange a few words.
She could say she knew nothing about this man's life - her understanding of him was a complete blank.
That indescribable feeling of emptiness washed over her again.
Seeing her spacing out, Bianca tugged at her fingers and acted cute, asking in a sweet childlike voice, "Mommy, please? Can we go find Daddy? I miss Daddy. Don't you miss him?"
If she and Andrew were really husband and wife, there'd be nothing wrong with what Bianca said.
But precisely because they weren't, Olivia felt embarrassed by her words and didn't know how to respond for a moment.
Rodolfo watched her from the side with a half-smile.
He also knew about Andrew and Olivia's situation, and knew that when he'd gotten into trouble this time, Andrew's side had helped a lot.
He'd heard that the key evidence was also collected by Andrew's people.
Rodolfo was grateful to him.
To be fair, setting aside the fact that Andrew might have feelings for Olivia, the guy was actually pretty decent in every way.
Especially how he'd helped Olivia and Bianca several times.
During his illness, Bianca had spent a lot of time with him, and he often heard Bianca talking about Andrew.
She'd mention him while eating, while drawing, while practicing piano.
Even at night, when reading bedtime stories with him, she'd share with Rodolfo about Andrew telling her bedtime stories.
Rodolfo could tell that Bianca really liked this so-called "daddy."
She wasn't even this attached to her biological father.
Simon was also nearby, quietly remarking, "To treat Bianca, Mr. Hamilton has given her the companionship that was missing from her life.
He's been incredibly dedicated to treating Bianca - not just anyone could do that."
Rodolfo didn't deny it.
However, he'd only met the man once before and didn't have a particularly deep impression of him. This trip to Harmony City, he actually wanted to meet Andrew properly.
He wanted to see what exactly was going on between Andrew and Olivia.
Before, he'd opposed Olivia giving up her career to marry Michael, mainly because he felt Michael wasn't right for her.
If a man truly loves you, how could he make you give up everything and change for him?
If Michael had shown even a bit of genuine feeling for her back then, he wouldn't have had such strong objections to their marriage.
The fact that Michael could do that showed he simply didn't care for her.
Right now, Bianca was still pestering Olivia, pulling at her hand and continuing to act cute, "Please? I haven't seen Daddy in so many days..."
Olivia couldn't withstand Bianca's offensive in the end. "Alright then, I'll take you to see him."
Bianca had been feeling down sometimes these past few days.
Olivia was a bit worried about her condition.
Taking her to Harmony City and having Andrew check on her would be good too.
"Yay! Mommy, you're the best! I love you so much!" Bianca jumped with joy.
Seeing her so happy, Olivia's expression softened.
She crouched down and said to Bianca in advance, "If I'm taking you to Harmony City this time, you have to promise me something too.
Harmony City is an unfamiliar city, and I don't know it well either. You need to be good when we get there, okay?"
Because the child had autism, Olivia had never felt comfortable taking her far from home.
Although Bianca now seemed no different from a normal child.
But Andrew hadn't announced the end of the second phase of treatment yet.
Before she was completely better, the condition could still flare up.
Except for going back to her parents' place with Olivia, Bianca had always stayed in Emerald City. Olivia worried she might not adapt.
Facing an unfamiliar environment, she might become scared, have a stress reaction...
All of this worried Olivia greatly.
Bianca understood what Olivia meant and immediately nodded obediently, promising, "Mommy, don't worry, I'll be very good. I won't bother anyone, and I won't run around where you can't find me!"
Seeing her promise repeatedly, Olivia didn't say anything more.
After Bianca learned they were going to see Andrew, she was happy every day.
When she went to school, she even pulled Benjamin aside to share this news.
Benjamin was somewhat surprised to hear it and couldn't help asking Bianca, "You're going to Harmony City to find Andrew?"
Bianca nodded, "Yes! And if possible, I want my daddy to come back with us!"
Hearing this, Benjamin's expression became hesitant.
Would Andrew come back?
Probably not very likely, right?
He'd originally wanted to tell Bianca the truth.
But seeing Bianca's expectant expression, Benjamin couldn't bear to.
He could only swallow his words back down.
When evening came and Olivia came to pick up Bianca, Benjamin finally couldn't help asking her, "Dr. Garcia, I heard from Bianca that you're going to Harmony City?"
Olivia hadn't expected Bianca to tell Benjamin about this.
But she could guess that Bianca must have told him they were going to find Andrew.
She explained helplessly, "We are indeed going to Harmony City, but this time it's mainly to take my teacher there. If Mr. Hamilton is available, we would like to meet.
I want him to check on Bianca's condition."
Benjamin thought of Bianca's hopeful expression about a reunion and gestured to Olivia, "Dr. Smith, could we talk privately? In my office."
Though Olivia was puzzled, she had no objection.
She rarely saw Benjamin with this expression - there must be something important.
So the two of them went into the school, to the office.
Benjamin gave Bianca some candy and a puzzle, asking her to work on it nearby.
After she cooperatively walked away, he asked Olivia, "Dr. Garcia, are you and Andrew together now?"
Olivia hadn't expected him to ask this, and her expression immediately became awkward.
Why did everyone have to ask this question?
She shook her head, saying, "No... we're not. Why do you ask?"
