Chapter 16 The shifter festival

Chapter 16 The shifter festival
The next day was the shifter festival. It was a festival where so many ferals come together to celebrate technology in the Moon world and also launch great talented projects.

When I was younger, I had always wanted to be at the festival and show my talent but I was also sidelined because of my low tier rank. But today, my son, Pius would be launching his first project through the help of Alpha Xander.

He was on his little suits that was nearly packed by Amara and his shoes with shiny. He looked at me with smile all of his face and tucked his chin gently.  Bobby and the other side dressed in a long robe just like a model she was. She wore makeup and I must confess that she looked so amazing beautiful.

“Mommy I am going to win today's launching program.” He said smiling and holding onto my leg. I caressed head and look down at him and we both smile at each other.

“I trust you so much song no ferals , wolves, or lycans,  can stand  against you.”

Amara walked down the stairs. She wore a black gown, one of these oldest attires. Amara would never stop amazing me with her attitude. And the funny thing was that she literally doesn't give a fuck about anyone. She just put on her thing and go her own way.

“ So, are we ready to go collect the award?” She rolled her eyes.

“ Of course, Amara.” Pius said too.

“ Yes, Amara.” Barbie said too and I nodded too in uniform.

As we walked out of the sitting room, Alpha Xander and his Beta, Alexander, were already by the car.

When we stepped on the floor from the last step, Xander and Alexander threw me a smile from afar, and I exhaled walking towards the next car when he called for me and asked us to come over to his place.

I froze, shocked, the same as all of us.

“ Today was my mother birthday. I would take you all in a free ride to the venue.” Xander said and everyone of us became startled.

“ Wow! Thank you, frowning Daddy!” Pius said and rushed up to him, curling his legs with his tiny hands.

I opened my mouth and looked away. This little boy would always call Xander his frowning Daddy. And what I did expect the Alpha's response to be anytime he called him this was way different to what he was showing, just like he was now, smiling at him as he peeked down at him.

“ Are we winning the award tonight?” Xander asked, still smiling and Pius nodded slightly in agreement.

Then he jumped into the car alongside with him and Amara entered too. As I was about to enter into the car, Alexander whispered into my ears. “ You look so beautiful and smart. No doubt Pius would bring the award to us.”

“ Thank, you.” I thanked him and he opened the door for me to go in. I moved in and sat down directly behind the alpha.

After some minutes, we arrived at the venue. A very big hall, full of prominent alpha and elders. At the other side of the hall were the contestants who were present for the contest. I scanned at all the men present at the hall and I could see Pius was the youngest. I shook my head, calming down my nerves. I trust Pius’s intelligence. I knew he wouldn't bring shame to us. Meanwhile, even though if we didn't win, it's still a win for us.

She looked at me and I crouched down to his height. “Don't be scared of their ages. You're a genius and Mommy trust in you.”

He nodded slightly. Xander moved to him, and crouched down to his height and pulled him closer. He rubbed his head slightly and said. “My little, boy. Frowning Daddy says, go get that award.”

He shook his head as though that was all what he needed to win the contest. Barbie hugged him tightly and rubbed his back before he finally stepped onto the big stage. A resounding clap blared from the audiences. Pius paused midway and kissed his hand throwing it at the audiences and it made the clap grew wider.

I laughed at his actions. He must have probably learnt it from Barbie. Those were the invisible kisses she blows whenever she does her model walks.

The event started and all the contestants were introduced one after the other as clapping eroded from the audiences again.

“ Pius is such a gift from the Moon goddess!” Amara turned to me and said.

I nodded my head slightly. “ Yes, he's. He looks exactly like Felipe.”

Amara flinched and lower her head, peeking at me from below. But I pretended as though I didn't see her.

“ Really?” She asked,  still looking at me.

“ Yes. The same smile. The same nose. The same. ……”

I was mentioning when she cut me short. “ Enough!” She leaned closer. “ Wait do you still love him?”

“ Love him?” I tipped the corner of my lips sideways and shook my head against it. “ I stopped loving him the moment he rejected me as his mate.”

“ Then why did he suddenly come to your head?” She asked, waiting in anticipation for my response.

“ Because this is what he always wanted. A male pup who would make him proud and ground his position as the alpha of his pack” I said remembering the old wound. Not that I was hurt anyway, but just recounting on all I have sacrificed to make the mate bond work which later failed.

“ You're so funny! Is it true that you came to our pack only to work for him to be the Alpha? You must really be obsessed with the Alphas.”

I hit her shoulders playfully. “ Are you now throwing tantrums at me for loving the person heavenly paired with me?”

“ Pius Xander.”

We heard the wide announcement of his name and raising our head up we found him stepping up to the podium to defend his project.
