Chapter 55 The surprise
I was impatient to know where they were taking me because they were mum about it. After breakfast, they bundled me up in the car, not saying a word about where they were taking me. They were acting so mysterious about it.
"Okay. I don't think I can keep this in anymore," I said for the second time. "Where are you guys taking me to?" I questioned, turning to Mitch, who only shrugged.
I didn't bother looking towards the others because I knew they wouldn't say a word. If any of them were to give out a location, it would be Mitch. And since he wasn't talking, I doubt I would get anything worthwhile from the others.
"You will know when we get there," Mitch replied, chuckling when I shot a glare his way. "Don't look at me like that, darling. It's a surprise. I doubt surprises are meant to be revealed before it's shown."
"Whatever."
I leaned on the seat and closed my eyes, ready to wait until we got to our destination to know where they were taking me since they weren't saying anything.
I couldn't tell how long we drove until Mike stopped the car. I peeked an eye open, then the second one, widening them when I saw where we were.
I gasped, no words coming out of my mouth.
Chuckling, Mitch got out of the car and motioned for me to do the same, keeping the door open for me.
I stepped out, still in awe, my eyes taking in the beautiful structure in front of me. "The royals?" I inquired, looking at my mates, who nodded. "How did you..."
"For a weekend gateway, love. Haven't you always spoken of how much you missed this place?" Mike asked, coming to stand next to me.
A tear slid down my eyes. I didn't know they still recalled all my ramblings about how I wanted to escape everything and rent a room in the Royals for the weekend. A valet took the car keys from Mike and drove the car into their underground garage.
"It's time for a memorable weekend, darling." Smiling, Mitch took my hand in his and led me towards the front door. The security man opened it, ushering us in. We collected the room card from the receptionist.
They rented the penthouse, a place I knew cost thousands just for a night. I didn't say anything about that though, knowing they were doing that to please me.
We took an elevator to the last floor, my mates standing on both sides, smiling at me. When we got to the last floor, I exited, Mitch leading the way to the room, while the others flanked me from behind, making me look like a celebrity.
Mitch opened the door and gestured for me to step inside and I did. My mouth pulled open in shock.
The sliding door at the right led straight to the balcony. My gaze wandered around the sitting room.
A bulb was placed near a couch by the wall. It was carved like a god, meditating for his people. From the outstretched hands, came light.
"This is beautiful," I gushed as I walked over to the beautiful godlike-shaped light. I touched the bulb, and it changed colours. From the normal white colour it had, it changed to blue. Magnificent.
I look at it again, mesmerized by the beauty.
"This is spectacular." I touched it once more, and as I deduced, it changed colours. It changed from the blue colours it took now, to a beautiful red. The red colour glittered. Giggling, I touched it once more, and it changed to yellow.
I was mesmerized by the beauty. I turned to look at the place. As the beautiful light just took my focus, I wasn't able to check out most of the things around.
There was a blue vase near the black couch I backed when I first saw the beautiful lights. In the vase were beautiful roses mixed with Lilies. It was a sight to behold.
A 90-inch plasma TV took up almost all the wall, standing majestically like the king of the room. Under it was an artificial fireplace, but it was yet to be switched on. Else, the cackling sounds would have filled the entire room.
"If you like it so much, we can change our house to suit your taste," Mitch whispered.
I almost jumped out of my skin when I felt his cool breath on the back of my neck. Engrossed in looking around, I didn't notice him until he wrapped his hands around my waist and brought me closer, flush against his chest.
I gulped, my heart hammering away in my chest. "It's beautiful," I murmured.
"Why don't we check the room, then? You would love that one, I promise." Before I could reply, he was already tugging me towards the said room, looking impatient to show me around.
I almost tripped on my steps as I tried to match his strides, the others following close behind. Like he did when we stepped into the house, he opened the door and gestured for me to step in. And I did, my jaws almost hitting the floor.
If the sitting room impressed me, it held no candle to the bedroom. A king-sized bed rested in the middle of the room. A red curtain was used on the poles around the bed, open enough to show what it had within it. The bedding was red.
There were no roses on the bed, which worked so much for me, but the vibe the room gave out was a romantic one.
A black couch rested on the wall, not too far from the bed.
"We would leave you to rest, darling," Mike said as he placed a kiss on my forehead, winking at me.
"Where are you guys going?" I asked with a frown, wondering why they were leaving me alone.
"Nowhere. We will be in the parlour should you need us. The bathroom has a hot tub. You can dip in there," Mitch replied, kissing my forehead before he stepped back, for Miles to do the same. Smiling, they left me alone in the room, closing the door behind them. You would have thought they would want to get intimate seeing such a setting, but no, they had to be such killjoys!
