Natalie
"I am glad you understand." He said, giving me a peck on the lips.
"Now, I will only be gone for half an hour or so. Just stay at home, don't leave the house and don't let Fiona go outside. You don't have to be scared of your safety, the body guards are here and they are trained very well to protect both of you. I will also call you when I reach the station, okay?"
"Okay," I replied, he kissed me again before turning to Fiona who was now looking at us with a frown on her face.
"Fiona, your father has some business to take care of. I will be back before you know it, just listen to your mother and don't leave the house, understand?" She nodded her head.
"Good, I am leaving now." He kissed Fiona's forehand and then turned to me.
"Remember, you are safe. There is nothing to worry about." He said and pulled me in for a kiss, I kissed him back and engulfed him in a hug.
"Be safe." I whispered, he pulled away cupping my face.
"I will."
"Bye then," I said with a genuine smile, he kissed my forehead before smiling at Fiona.
We bothered to walk him to the door and watch as he entered the car. I sighed as the guard closed the door and guided Fiona and I back inside. We walked to the living room to relax my mind and not to think about Lorenzo being hurt or Fiona in danger. But I just couldn't stop thinking about it, I had a feeling in my gut that something was going to happen.
Letting out another breath, I looked and a frown suddenly came to my face when I saw that the bodyguard that was at the entrance of the living room isn't there anymore. He was there just a moment ago, where could he be?
I held onto Fiona's arms and got up, I told her to be quiet as we began to walk quietly over to the entrance of the living room. And for some reason, I felt scared and terrified. My heart beat increased and I started to breathe hard as we were now standing at the entrance.
I counted to three before poking my head out to see if anyone was there and let out a sigh of relief after I saw that he was there but not standing close to the door. All that matters is that he is doing his job, giving him one last glance. I pulled my head back and turned around, still holding Fiona and we started walking back to the living room but stopped when I suddenly heard a loud thud. It was as if a body fell on the floor.
Then another sound but this time, it sounded more like a gunshot. My body jolted into action right away, I took Fiona in my arms and began running to a safe area but then another sound and then, the light suddenly went off. My breathing increased again while my eyes scanned the dark room, trying to see my way as one of my hands covered Fiona's mouth.
I slowly began walking, trying to feel for a wall to guide me somewhere safe and praying in my head that Lorenzo comes back right now. I was so scared and terrified, my body shaking as I held tightly unto Fiona who was trembling in my hand. I knew she was scared but so thankful that she is smart enough to not make any sound.
I just needed to take her to a safe place and then I will call Lorenzo. I have to make sure Fiona is safe and even if that means I have to get hurt in the process, I am not losing her again. I continued to walk through the dark but frozen when I suddenly heard footsteps and I became even more scared. Biting my lips, I continue to feel for the walls, praying that whosoever is in the house doesn't catch us. But then I felt a hand on my neck, I froze but recovered when Fiona was yanked out of my hand.
She screamed out but her screams were soon muffled and I tried to grab her back but before I could have even done so, a hand wrapped around me and I was being dragged off. I tried to scream as loud as I could be.
"Fiona!"
I screamed and then heard her faint voices before it vanished. I broke down, screaming louder, shouting her name over and over again with the hope that she is okay. I can't lose her again, I just can't.
Lorenzo Pov.
"Where is the girl?"
That was the first thing I asked after I pulled up to the police station and rushed inside. I just wanted to make sure they have the right person so I can be sure that Natalie and Fiona are safe.
"This way, Mr. Ballmer." One of the answers led me to a jail cell which held the girl.
"This is the suspect we caught." He said as we were now standing directly in front of the jail.
I peeked inside, taking a glance of the girl's face to make sure I recognized her. But it wasn't her, she did look like the woman that brought Fiona to me but it wasn't her. This woman here is tall, about my height but Esther was one third of my height. Her face was a circular shape but Esther has a diamond face shape.
She was way too pale and her hair was purple, they actually looked alike but it wasn't her. I got angry like what the hell is this? I left Fiona and Natalie at home to rush to the station to meet this girl that only looked like Esther. Is this a fucking joke?
This has to be a joke because if they weren't, these officers have very bad eyes or are very bad in comparing people.
"What the hell is this?" I asked angrily, turning to the officer and he furrowed his brows.
"What is what, Mr. Ballmer?"
"What is this?" I asked again, pointing to the girl in the cell and he looked even more confused which made me more upset.
I clenched my jaw, glaring at him before going into my pocket and taking my phone out. I went to the gallery and scrolled down until I found a picture of Esther.
"Does this look like her?" I asked, showing him the picture.
He looked at my phone and then to the girl in the cell before responding.
"No, sir."
I let out a breath, pinching the bridge of my nose as I put my phone back to my pocket.
"Take me to your boss."
"Right away, sir." He directed me to his office.
"Mr. Ballmer." He greeted me and held out his hand for a handshake but I left it hanging.
"Look, I don't know what prank you and your investigators are playing on me but I need you to stop joking about and get fucking serious." He gave me a confused look.
"What are you talking about?"
"There is a woman out there who has threatened my family and I am here anxious to see that woman punished so that I can be assured of both their safety. But you guys are here joking around." I yelled and he looked even more confused.
"Joke around? What do you mean?"
"Fuck! Can't you guys see? Are you blind or something, anyone can see that the woman you have in that cell looks nothing like the real woman you guys are looking for." I yelled in anger and he finally understood what I was talking about.
"Oh, I am sorry about that, I think they arrested that girl because she has the same name as Esther and was born in the same county. Don't worry, I will search for and we will find her." I folded my arms, looking at him.
"I am giving you one week to do that."
"One week? Mr. Ballmer, you know that night takes longer than one week. We can't do that in just one week." I mentally rolled my eyes at him.
"I have already given you guys more than enough time to find Esther and you found a girl that looks nothing like her. So right now, I don't have time. You better get to work and find her than just joking around." He was about to say something but I cut him off.
"No excuse! I want that girl in a week. And if I were you, I would get to work now." I turned around and hurried out of the station.
I entered my car and let out another breath before bringing out my phone and to dial Natalie's number. I told her that I will call her when I am done. I knew she wouldn't like the news I am about to give her. I dialed her number so many times but it went into voicemail.
"Is she asleep already?" I said with a frown on my face.
I didn't think too much about it, so I turned on the engine of the car and drove back home.
