Ariana’s POV
I couldn't help but feel a strange sense of familiarity when I looked at the Alpha, even though his mask concealed his features. It was as if I had glimpsed something in his eyes, a hint of recognition that sent a shiver down my spine. But I couldn't dwell on it; there were more pressing matters at hand.
The Alpha, his voice dripping with sarcasm, turned his attention to Seraphina. "And as for you, my dear," he said, "it's a shame that you chose to betray your own kind and your own family. But in the end, you belong to the Black Moon Clan now."
Seraphina's eyes filled with tears, but she held her head high, her spirit unbroken. "I may have made a mistake," she said, her voice trembling with emotion, "but I'll find a way to make amends."
The Alpha's amusement seemed to grow as he continued to toy with us. "Make amends?" he mused. "Oh, my dear, you have no idea what you've gotten yourself into. You're in the lion's den now, and there's no escape."
I couldn't bear to see my sister suffering like this, and I knew that we had to find a way out of this dire situation. But as I glanced at the Alpha once more, I couldn't shake the feeling that I knew him from somewhere. There was something about the way he held himself, the way he spoke, that felt strangely familiar.
And then, in a shocking twist, the Alpha removed his mask, revealing his face to all of us. I gasped in disbelief as I stared at the man before me. It was as if the ground had been pulled out from under me.
The Alpha, the villainous leader of the Black Moon Clan, was none other than my first love, Rennes. My heart pounded in my chest as I struggled to comprehend the revelation. It was impossible, unthinkable. How could Rennes, a Silver Moon Clan werewolf, have become the Alpha of the Black Moon Clan?
I couldn't contain my disbelief any longer. "Rennes?" I whispered, my voice trembling. "Is it really you?"
Rennes smirked, his eyes locking onto mine. "Surprised, Ariana?" he asked, his voice laced with arrogance. "I'm not the same Rennes you knew. I've changed."
I couldn't fathom what I was hearing. Rennes had been a kind, gentle soul when we were together, and he had always vowed to protect me. How had he transformed into the ruthless Alpha of the Black Moon Clan?
"Why?" I asked, my voice shaking with a mix of anger and confusion. "Why did you become the Alpha of the Black Moon Clan? You were from the Silver Moon Clan."
Rennes's smirk deepened, and he began to explain, revealing a dark and twisted tale of betrayal and ambition. "My father," he began, "was the former leader of the Black Moon Clan. He sent me away to the Silver Moon Clan to hide my true identity when he was overthrown by his own brothers. On my journey at sea, I met my father's beta, who told me the truth about my heritage."
My mind raced as I tried to process the shocking revelation. Rennes had learned the truth about his lineage and, driven by a thirst for power and revenge, had killed the real Black Moon Clan Alpha and taken his place. It was a story of betrayal and manipulation, and it left me reeling.
Rennes continued, his voice filled with cold determination. "Since that day, my sole goal has been to unify the werewolf clans and become the strongest Alpha in history. I will stop at nothing to achieve my ambition, even if it means destroying everything in my path."
My heart ached as I realized the depth of the darkness that had consumed Rennes. The man I had once loved was now a ruthless and power-hungry Alpha, willing to sacrifice everything in his quest for dominance.
Lucas, too, seemed shaken by the revelation, his eyes filled with a mix of anger and sadness. "You've become a monster," he spat, his voice filled with contempt.
Rennes merely shrugged, his arrogance unwavering. "Call me what you will," he replied. "But know this – I am unstoppable, and no one can stand in my way."
As the reality of our dire situation sank in, I couldn't help but wonder if there was any trace of the Rennes I had once known left within this ruthless Alpha. Had he truly become a monster, or was there a glimmer of humanity buried beneath the facade of power and cruelty?
But one thing was certain – we were now facing an enemy unlike any we had encountered before, and our chances of survival had never been more uncertain.
The tense standoff between Lucas, Rennes, Seraphina, and me escalated as harsh words were exchanged. Lucas's eyes blazed with determination as he sneered at Rennes, refusing to back down.
"You think you can become the strongest, Rennes?" Lucas scoffed. "You're nothing more than a power-hungry tyrant who's destroyed countless families with that wolf's venom of yours. Evil will never triumph over good."
Rennes, unmoved by Lucas's words, coldly mocked him. "You overestimate yourself," he retorted, his voice dripping with disdain. "You've always been too naive, Lucas. Strength is all that matters in this world, and I have it."
Seraphina, her anger boiling over, stared at Rennes with fiery intensity. She screamed at him, her voice filled with disbelief and rage. "Rennes, you heartless monster! You're the Alpha of the Black Moon Clan? My husband?"
Rennes's lips curled into a sneer as he responded, "Husband? Is that what you thought we were, Seraphina? Eight years ago, you were nothing more than a pawn in my game. A means to an end."
Seraphina's face twisted in fury, and she shook her head in disbelief. "You're lying! We had a relationship, and you set me up like this!"
Rennes chuckled darkly, his eyes cold and calculating. "Oh, Seraphina," he said, his voice dripping with mockery. "You were always so transparent. You seduced me to make Ariana jealous, and now you find yourself in this situation. It's your own doing."
"You, this hypocritical and foolish woman. I bet you've lost count of how many men you've been with. You can't even recognize my voice and mannerisms. You deserve to be like this."
Seraphina's curse at Rennes was filled with anguish and betrayal. "You're heartless," she hissed, tears streaming down her face.
"Rennes, you've deceived me for so many years, I will make you pay!"
