Chapter 125 His scent

Chapter 125 His scent

“Alpha.” Alex greeted out of courtesy, but his tone was unusually bitter.

This man never treated Hazel well and yet she fell in love with him. Alex didn’t even know what to think at that moment, but it was not pleasant.

Yet, there was nothing he could do. He had been confident that he would win over Hazel with time, but Hazel obviously already made up her mind.

So the best Alex could do was give them space and forget about her.

Damien gave Alex a scrutinizing look and asked, “What are you doing here?”

Alex furrowed his brows, he didn’t like Damien’s tone. Does he not trust Hazel or even his friend?

Alex was about to reply, but Hazel patted his arm to stop him. “It’s fine, I will deal with this.”

Damien’s gaze was fixed on Hazel's hand on Alex’s arm and his expression slowly turned dark.

Alex stared at Hazel for a few seconds and shook his head helplessly. Hazel was hopelessly in love with this man, only the goddess knows what she finds interesting about him.

Damien might be Alex’s friend, but Alex wouldn’t lie that Damien had too many short-comings. But looking at it now, Hazel was the best woman who could handle Damien’s odd personality.

“Fine, I will take my leave now.” Alex said before walking forward.

Before he bypassed Damien, he said, “At least, have some trust in the woman you’ve chosen.”

Damien wanted to argue that there was nothing between him and Hazel, but when the words reached his throat, he realized that he could not utter them at all.

He pressed his lips together, his emotions slightly complicated.

As soon as Alex walked away, he repeated the question.

“What was he doing here?” He asked, taking a few steps to arrive before her.

Hazel’s eyes were cold, there wasn't the usual brightness whenever she was with Alex. The sight stung Damien for some reason.

Why was it that she found it normal to smile with other men, but when it comes to him, all he would see was coldness and indifference?

Was he that incomparable to other men, especially Alex?

“What do you want?” Hazel asked, staring at him without any expression on her face.

She couldn’t believe that Damien probably had the thought that something had transpired between her and Alex, how could he even think in that direction?

Because she was a slave here, does he think she would just sleep with any man available? Hazel thought he knew her better than this, but obviously not.

His trust for her was as minuscule as it could get.

Damien frowned, his anger boiling over, “I asked you a question, why was he in your chamber? And he has been there for minutes, what were you both doing? Do you want to tell me that you’ve only been discussing? Think I will believe that nonsense?”

Hazel paused, then asked with incredulity, “You had someone monitor me?”

Damien fell silent.

After he realized how close Hazel had grown to Alex, he, for some reasons, grew restless. And he didn’t like the feeling. Because of this restlessness, Grito could not go ahead with the treatment.

Grito said before the treatment could commence, he must be stable physically and mentally. But these days, his mental health has not been stable.

He keeps seeing Alex and Hazel together everywhere, it annoys him and it infuriates him.

Hazel belonged to him, she should be around him and not anyone else.

He wanted all her attention to himself. He wanted her to carry his scent that would push other men away, and when Damien realized the implications of these thoughts, he would be lying if he said he was not shocked.

He wanted to mark Hazel.

It was a ridiculous thought, but the thoughts kept solidifying inside him as days went by.

Damien never knew that he could grow so desperate just for a woman. He could not lie to himself anymore, his feelings for Hazel were bordering on the verge of craziness.

So, he had one of his guards keep an eye on him.

When the guard reported that Alex entered Hazel’s chamber and had been there for a while, Damien nearly lost it.

He almost killed that same guy in a fit of rage, blaming the guard for not sending Alex away. But Killian had managed to stop him on time and Damien had rushed over.

Up until now, the murderous anger in him had only intensified. Especially when Hazel held Alex’s arm, he wished, that moment, that he could punch Alex’s guts.

What right does he have to make Hazel touch him?

“Yes, I had someone monitor you, so? Can you assure me that nothing happened between the both of you earlier?” He asked, staring at her intensely.

Hazel gritted her teeth and asked, “What do you take me for? A whore?”

Damien fell silent and Hazel took his silence for affirmation.

She clenched her fists and walked back into her chambers. She was about to close the door, when he blocked it with his leg.

Hazel could have slammed the door regardless of whether his leg was there or not, but she could not bear to hurt him.

“Leave. I have nothing to say to you.” She said, glaring at him with red eyes.

She can’t believe he really thought of her like that.

Damien noticed the redness of her eyes and frowned.

Why was she crying? Was she trying to emotionally blackmail him, then twist the lie?

“I am not done with you, Hazel.” He said and before she could react, he slipped his hand through the gaps of the door, grabbed her waist and forced himself in.

The distance between them reduced as he entered the room, then he used his other hand to close the door.

He was about to say something when he suddenly perceived something odd about Hazel's scent.

There was a man’s scent mingled with it and Damien almost saw red.

“Why do you have his scent on you?” He roared, blue veins popping out of his forehead.
