Chapter 121 A warning letter

Ghost commander ninety’s body tensed instantly as the big paw enlarged in his eyes. But for an experienced warrior like him, he reacted quickly and twisted his body, narrowly escaping the hit.

But not completely.

The sharp claws still tore through his arm, removing the entire arm, leaving nothing but a bloody pump in the place where his hand was initially attached.

A painful groan escaped his lips as he retreated back hurriedly, terror flashing in his eyes.

Blood sprayed on the floor like a fountain.

He didn’t care about the mission anymore, he just wanted to survive. With a thought, he dipped his hand into his sleeves and brought out something black.

Before anyone could react, he threw the substance on the ground and what followed after was a burst of smoke that made everyone, including Little Red unable to see anything for a while.

When the smoke finally died down, Ghost commander ninety was nowhere to be seen. Even his footsteps seemed to have disappeared and nothing was left to track him down.

A hint of regret flashed in Little Red’s eyes, but it quickly glanced at the last Fang assassin whom she had knocked unconscious. She had intentionally left him alive, so he would be taken for interrogation.

With the Ghost commander gone, the alley finally returned back to its silence and all eyes turned to Little Red.

Up until that moment, Hazel could still not believe it.

Little Red also understood this and did not take a step towards Hazel. Like that, a woman and a massive creature stared at each other, each waiting for the other person to make the first move.

“Little Red?” Hazel called out again and this time, the massive creature nodded quickly and took a step toward carefully.

Seeing that Hazel did not seem to dislike her, Little Red nudged Hazel with her body and Hazel almost staggered backward.

She did not know whether to laugh or cry, even as a massive creature, Little Red was still as clingy as ever.

“Stop nudging me, I would fall at this point. Have you forgotten that you are no longer small?” Hazel asked, amused.

But as soon as her voice fell, Little Red’s body gradually began to shrink. And in the next moment, she turned back to the small cub Hazel was more familiar with.

With that, Little Red jumped into Hazel's arms and clung into her.

Alex stared at Little Ref, unable to believe that this little one was the same as the ferocious creature earlier. He glanced at the bloody alley and back at Little Red who was acting cute to Hazel.

“Alright, let’s leave this place.” Alex said and Hazel finally reacted. It was uncertain if Ghost commander ninety had left to call for reinforcements, if he did, they wouldn't be able to escape even with the help of the transformed Little Red.

Alex dragged the Fang assassin who was still alive on the floor and they quickly left the alley. In no time, they saw the carriage and the coachman who was pacing anxiously in front of it.

When the coachman saw Alex and Hazel, it heaved in relief. But when he saw the blood on their bodies, his eyelids jumped in fear.

“Second beta, Miss Hazel, what happenef?” He asked, his gaze shifting to masked figure being dragged by Alex.

“Let’s leave this place first.” Alex said and the coachman didn’t dare delay.

…

“You were attacked by the Black Fang people? Why would they want Hazel?” Killian asked, a frown marring his features.

Damien, who was beside him, also had an unpleasant expression. To think that the Black Fang people would dare carry out operations in his territory and dare to attack his people, do they think that his reputation was just for a joke?

“I have no idea who would want me as well.” Hazel replied, just as baffled.

This time, if not for Little Red, who knows what would have happened to her and Alex?

She had explained what Little Red had done, so Killian could not help but glance at the Little thing in Hazel’s arm with amazement in his eyes.

“Could Little Red be the descendants of some ancient beast?” He asked out loud and Hazel frowned.

“If that is true, then how can a normal hunter be able to snatch Little Red from her mother?” She asked and Killian fell silent.

That’s true.

Ancient beasts are known for being extremely protective of their cubs, because due to their bloodline and prowess, they are unable to give birth to multiple children. Most of them caj only give birth to oke children and some won’t even be able to give birth at all.

So it was not possible for a normal hunter to get little Red.

Killian turned back to Hazel, “Are you okay?”

“Just some superficial wounds. I will be fine after some rest.” She replied calmly.

Her gaze was fixed on Little Red, who was fast asleep, so she did not notice Damien who was staring at her.

Damien turned to Killian after a while, “Find this Ghost commander ninety. He would not be able to leave the pack with that wound, find him and bring him to me. Also, send a warning letter to the Black Fang hall, if they think they can attack my people and go scot free with it, then they must be dreaming.”

Killian nodded seriously.

Damien gave Hazel a subtle look and said again, “Bring Albert here, he should treat her wounds.”

Hazel wanted to refuse, but after thinking about it, she said nothing.

At that moment, Hazel saw Matilda leading a group of women away through a corridor a few steps from her location. All the women had their heads lowered and they were not dressed in maids’ outfits.

Hazel was about to avert her gaze when she noticed that one of the women seemed familiar.

“Those are the new maids. They probably just got employed.” Alex said.

Hazel frowned.

Why does that figure look so much like Helen?
