Chapter 28 Father’s Ultimatum

Chapter 28 Father’s Ultimatum
The safehouse felt smaller than ever.

The concrete walls seemed to close in as Enzo held the phone to his ear, his free arm still wrapped tightly around Selene's naked body. She was curled against his chest, skin still flushed and marked from their earlier claiming, Damien's cool presence pressed against her back. The triple bond hummed quietly between them, a fragile thread of peace in the middle of chaos.

But peace was a lie.

Don Marco Valenti's voice cut through the line like a rusted blade. "Forty-eight hours, Lorenzo. That's all you have left. I want that Silverfang bitch's head delivered to me personally. No excuses. No more delays. If she's still breathing when my men reach your penthouse, I'll assume you've gone soft… and I'll treat you like the traitor you've become."

Every word landed like a bullet to the chest.

Enzo's entire body went rigid. His heart slammed against his ribs so hard Selene could feel it through the bond. Memories flooded him unbidden: his mother's blood-soaked body on the carpet, her eyes wide with terror, the Silverfang howls echoing in the night. The way his father had looked at him afterward, eyes burning with a vow: "We do not forgive. We do not forget. We destroy."

And now here he was, the son who had sworn that oath, wrapped around the daughter of the same pack that had murdered his mother.

"I told you I'm handling it," Enzo said, his voice low and strained.

"Handling it?" Don Marco laughed, cold and cruel and full of disgust. "You're fucking her, Lorenzo. I have eyes everywhere. You've been knotting that wolf whore while my captains die in the streets like dogs. You've betrayed your own blood for a Silverfang cunt. For what? A warm hole and a false bond?"

Selene stiffened in Enzo's arms. Through the bond, he felt her sharp spike of pain and shame. She tried to pull away, but he held her tighter, almost desperately.

"I made my choice," Enzo whispered.

"Then unmake it," his father hissed. "Kill her. Tonight. Bring me the head, or I'll come for both of you myself. And when I do, I won't just kill her. I'll make you watch while my men take turns on her first. Then I'll put a bullet in your skull for being weak. For forgetting who you are. Do you understand me?"

Before he could get a word out of his mouth, the line went dead.

Silence crashed over the safehouse like a wave.

Enzo didn't move. He couldn't. The phone slipped from his fingers and clattered to the floor. His chest heaved with ragged breaths as years of loyalty, grief, and rage collided inside him.

Selene lifted her head, silver eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Enzo…"

He looked at her, really looked. The woman who had been sent to kill him. The woman who had become his obsession, his weakness, his everything. The bond between them throbbed with raw, painful love that terrified him more than any bullet ever could.

"I should kill you," he whispered, voice cracking. "It would be the right thing. The loyal thing. My father and my mother deserve vengeance…"

Tears slipped down Selene's cheeks. "Then do it. End this before it destroys you."

Enzo's hand moved to her throat, not squeezing, but holding her there. His thumb brushed her racing pulse. "I can't, don't you understand this?" he choked out. He kissed her then, not with anger, but with desperate, aching need. It was messy and broken, tasting of blood and tears and fear. His hands roamed over her body like he was memorizing her, squeezing her breasts, gripping her hips, pulling her closer as if he could fuse them and make the outside world disappear.

Damien watched silently from behind her, his cool fingers tracing gentle patterns on her back, offering quiet support through the bond.

Enzo rolled Selene onto her back and settled between her thighs. He entered her slowly this time, deeply, filling her as their eyes locked. There was no brutality, only raw emotion.

"I love you," he whispered as he moved inside her, voice breaking. "I hate myself for it, but I love you. And it's going to get us both killed."

Selene wrapped her arms around his neck, tears streaming down her face. "I love you too, even though I shouldn't, because it makes me a traitor to everything I was raised for."

They made love with heartbreaking intensity, slow, deep thrusts, foreheads pressed together, eyes never leaving each other. Damien moved closer, fangs gently sinking into her shoulder as he drank, joining their bond in a quiet, supportive way. The three of them moved together in perfect sync, not as conquerors, but as souls bound by fate and choice.

Selene came first, sobbing with pleasure and pain, her walls clenching around Enzo. He followed moments later, knot swelling gently and locking them together as he filled her with slow, powerful pulses of cum. Damien kept feeding, eyes closed in shared bliss.

They stayed locked like that for a long time, the three of them tangled together breathing, bleeding, loving in the only way they knew how.

After the knot went down, Enzo pulled Selene into his arms and held her like she was the only thing keeping him alive. Damien curled behind her, offering silent strength.

"I won't kill you," Enzo whispered into her hair, voice raw with emotion. "Even if it costs me my family. Even if it costs me everything, I choose you, Selene. I choose us."

Selene cried quietly against his chest, the weight of two worlds crushing down on her.

The ultimatum had been delivered.

The clock was ticking.

For the first time, Enzo Valenti, ruthless mafia underboss, son of vengeance, had chosen love over blood.

The battle outside was on its way, but the one within his soul had already been settled.

With each heartbeat, he felt the tension coil tighter, the boundaries of loyalty and love blurring into a tumultuous gray. Enzo was no longer just a soldier in his father's shadows; he was a lover, a protector, and a betrayer all at once. The walls of the safehouse seemed to pulse with the weight of his choices, every crack in the concrete whispering the promises he had made in darkness.

He glanced at Selene, her silver eyes shimmering like the moonlight that filtered through the thin curtains. She was both the enemy and his salvation, a paradox that twisted his heart and mind. "We can run," he murmured, almost to himself, the thought taking form like a fragile hope. "We can leave this behind and never look back."

Selene's gaze brightened, but it was quickly clouded by doubt. "And what of Damien? What of your family? They won't let us go easily."

Enzo squeezed her tighter, as if his arms could shield her from the approaching storm. "I won't let them take you from me. I'll burn it all down before I let them hurt you."

Damien's presence behind them felt like a steady anchor amidst the roiling tempest of their emotions. He placed a hand on Selene's shoulder, his voice a low murmur. "We'll figure it out together. We're stronger as a trio than as individuals."

The bond they shared pulsed with warmth, a reminder of their commitment to one another. But even as they clung to each other, the clock continued to tick ominously, each second drawing them closer to an inevitable confrontation with Don Marco. The air thickened with unspoken fears and desires, the fragile peace a ticking time bomb waiting to explode.
