Chapter 91 Behave or I'll Throw You Off There!
"Liam, I bought you your favorite juice," Emily said, offering a bottle to Liam.
Liam knocked the juice bottle to the floor with one swift motion.
He was getting angry.
He had originally wanted to ride in Grace's car, but Alexander had persuaded him to ride in the RV. The moment he climbed aboard and saw Emily already inside, Liam immediately figured out Alexander's scheme!
Throughout the entire ride, Liam grew angrier and more upset, his little face darkening like storm clouds.
Seeing her attempts at pleasing him fail and being disrespected, Emily's own frustration mounted.
She could see this kid wasn't stupid at all—far from it, he was quite clever.
If he were truly mentally impaired, she wouldn't need to waste so much energy trying to win him over.
Emily picked up the juice bottle from the floor, feeling somewhat wronged as she looked toward Alexander with unspoken grievances in her eyes.
Alexander said to Liam, "Liam, behave yourself. No tantrums."
Liam ignored him completely. Suddenly, he spotted Grace and Max setting up their tent, his eyes lighting up as he pressed himself against the window, watching longingly.
The driver asked, "Mr. Hayes, we've arrived at the campsite. Should we get out?"
Alexander replied, "Park first."
Emily smiled. "Alexander, you spend time with Liam. I'll prepare the picnic lunch."
The moment the car door opened, Liam didn't wait for Alexander—he jumped out first and ran toward Grace and Max.
"Max!"
Liam called out excitedly.
Max turned around, somewhat surprised to see Liam climbing down from such a luxurious RV.
Their starlit tent was nearly finished.
This was Liam's first time seeing a tent, especially such a beautiful one, and his eyes filled with wonder.
In his eyes, Grace and Max's starlit tent was far more beautiful than Alexander's RV!
Other children gathered around, curiously staring at the starlit tent, all wanting to explore.
Grace was working up a sweat, setting up the hanging grill and smokeless barbecue plate in front of the tent.
She spread out a picnic blanket nearby and arranged all the pre-prepared barbecue ingredients.
Liam was already drooling with anticipation.
"Greedy Liam!" Max teased from the side. "Don't be impatient—it's not ready yet! Wait for Mommy to finish grilling."
Liam nodded happily.
The other parents also set up their RV awnings, arranging small tables and beginning their picnic preparations.
The wealthy wives gathered together. Compared to Grace's simple attire, they wore expensive designer clothes, each carrying Chanel, Prada, or Hermès bags. Their conversations were superficial, each finding ways to show off their family's wealth and status.
They suddenly turned their attention to Emily.
"Who is that woman?"
"She came with Mr. Hayes. Could she be...?"
Emily finished setting up the picnic and noticed the wealthy wives huddled together, discussing her with subtle glances. She approached them with a plate of exquisite desserts, smiling. "Would you like to try some desserts I brought?"
Everyone looked at Emily's tray, which held custom FENDI desserts that looked both sophisticated and elegant.
They examined Emily's outfit, Chanel clothing, Gucci shoes, a designer bag, a Tiffany diamond bracelet, a Van Cleef & Arpels malachite pendant necklace, and even her earrings were Bulgari—worth twenty thousand dollars a pair.
"Thank you."
Emily quickly integrated into the wealthy wives' circle.
Someone asked with feigned casualness, "What should we call you? What's your relationship with Mr. Hayes?"
Emily's lips curved slightly. "I'm Emily Blake, a doctor, and also..." She looked tenderly toward Alexander in the distance. "Alexander's fiancée."
Her words caused a sensation.
Everyone stared at her in shock.
This woman was Alexander's fiancée!
Instantly, the way everyone looked at Emily changed, becoming extremely warm and respectful.
"So you're Mr. Hayes's fiancée!"
"Have you set a wedding date?"
Emily replied, "Not yet! Alexander has been very busy. Right now, his main focus is on Liam. The wedding isn't urgent—we're taking our time. He says he wants to give me a spectacular, luxurious wedding. I'm not demanding much. We've grown up together since childhood."
"Miss Blake, you and Mr. Hayes are a perfect match—truly made for each other."
"I envy you, marrying such a wonderful man like Mr. Hayes. Only an outstanding woman like you could be worthy of him."
Emily graciously thanked them.
She set down the tray and called to Liam, "Liam, come here."
Liam was playing and roughhousing with Max in front of the tent.
His ears twitched at Emily's call, but he ignored her completely.
Emily gritted her teeth, walked over, and grabbed Liam, lifting him into her arms without explanation.
Liam instinctively struggled, his little face flushing red with anger.
Emily suddenly whispered coldly in his ear, "Try moving around again and see what happens." Her face maintained a smile, but her tone carried bone-chilling malice.
Liam stared at her in surprise.
Emily threatened, "See that high platform over there?" She pointed toward a raised area.
The campsite was on elevated ground with a flat platform converted into a rock-climbing wall, surrounded by safety barriers and standing twenty feet high.
She enunciated each word in Liam's ear, "If you don't behave, I'll throw you off there and let you fall to your death!"
After all, he wasn't her child—she didn't care about him at all. While Liam was precious in Alexander's eyes, he was worthless in hers.
Liam was stunned.
He never imagined Emily would threaten him.
If he didn't behave, she would throw him off the high platform?
This woman was worse than he had ever imagined!
Emily forcibly carried Liam to the front of the RV, where the extended table was set with an elaborate picnic spread.
She pressed Liam onto a stool and said, "Sit here quietly and don't move. I'm going to call Alexander over so the three of us can have lunch together."
With that, Emily turned to leave.
Liam's expression darkened instantly.
He suddenly raised his hand and swept the picnic blanket off the small table.
Hearing the commotion, Emily spun around in shock to see Liam had already knocked over her carefully arranged picnic spread.
Liam was furious. He grabbed bread and jam, hurling them violently to the ground. Juice, desserts, and sandwiches—he swept everything away!
