Chapter 90 How Embarrassing to Show Up in Such a Car
The two kids excitedly ran to Grace's side, circling the new car nearby.
Max touched the shiny car door and said, "It's so pretty!" The previous owner had customized the car with special wrapping film, transforming the original black vehicle into a powder blue one with cartoon decals on the doors, giving it an especially playful, child-friendly appearance.
Grace asked, "Do you like it?"
Max and Liam almost said in unison, "We love it!"
Upon seeing Grace, both Max and Liam were overjoyed.
Especially Liam, who happily opened his arms wide, his face beaming with a brilliant smile, bouncing up and down in front of her like he was putting on a show.
"Want hugs... want hugs..." he said in his sweet, childlike voice, so tender and adorable.
Grace had just bent down and opened her arms when the little one leaped into her embrace, snuggling against her like a soft cotton ball, rubbing his little face against her shoulder.
Liam still had that milky scent about him.
The nanny had mentioned that when Liam was first brought home from the orphanage, he was malnourished and in poor physical condition. Alexander had therefore prepared formula milk for him to supplement his nutrition. It wasn't until six months ago, when Liam's growth and development had caught up with other children his age, that he was finally weaned.
Liam was as soft and sweet as a milky cotton candy!
Grace couldn't help but kiss his cheek.
This made Max jealous, and he pouted, muttering, "Mommy doesn't hug me or kiss me..."
Grace laughed, finding Max's jealous expression absolutely adorable. She said to Max, "When we get home, Mommy will hug you and kiss you too!"
Max said, "I want cuddles, kisses, and to be lifted up right now!"
Cuddles, kisses, and being lifted up?
Liam's eyes lit up when he heard this. He sweetly wrapped his arms around Grace's neck, planted a kiss on her cheek, and blinked. Grace immediately understood what his expression meant.
Liam also wanted cuddles, kisses, and to be lifted up.
She laughed inwardly but generously satisfied both little treasures. She lifted Liam up high—though her arm strength was limited, she could only lift him halfway. Still, Liam blushed with shyness, his face showing complete satisfaction!
Grace didn't neglect Max either. She picked him up, lifted him high, and kissed his cheek. Only then did Max show a satisfied smile!
"Can we go home now?"
Max and Liam nodded.
Grace said, "So, Liam, do you want to ride in Grace's car or Daddy's car?"
Liam pointed at Grace's car door, seemingly asking if he could sit in the front passenger seat.
Grace said, "No way! Liam, just like Max, you sit in the back." With that, she opened the rear car door and made an inviting gesture. "Two little princes, please get in!"
Max and Liam immediately tried to look elegant as they obediently climbed into the car.
Max got in with particular grace, like a little nobleman. However, Liam, unfamiliar with Grace's car, appeared somewhat clumsy. He held onto the car door, stepped one foot up, kicked the other foot on the ground, and used both hands and feet to climb onto the seat. His round little bottom wiggled as he finally managed to sit down and settle into the new car seat Grace had bought.
Seeing the two little ones eagerly scrambling into Grace's car, Alexander's jaw muscles twitched violently.
The driver behind him said carefully, "Liam got into Ms. Foster's car too."
Alexander also got in his car and instructed the driver, "Follow behind her car."
"Yes, sir."
Grace had carefully prepared all the camping equipment needed. On Friday morning, she got up early and loaded everything into her car.
Originally, Liam had wanted to ride in Grace's car, but Alexander said, "Liam, you ride in my car."
Liam seemed somewhat reluctant.
Alexander said, "Liam, be good and listen to Daddy."
Grace also said, "Liam, once we get to the botanical garden and I set up the tent, we can play together."
Hearing this, Liam obediently took Alexander's hand and headed out.
Grace also took Max's hand, helped him into the car, and drove toward the botanical garden with Max!
She had just parked her car at the campsite when she was completely stunned.
The entire campsite was filled with RVs.
Grace was truly shocked speechless by this scene.
Although she knew that most of the parents at Windsor Academy were wealthy, she hadn't expected an entire class to show up for camping in RVs!
The whole campsite had essentially become a luxury RV exhibition.
Even the on-site staff were dumbfounded by this spectacle.
"So many RVs!"
"I heard it's the Lion Class kids from Windsor Academy here for camping."
"That explains it... Windsor Academy is supposedly an elite school that only the wealthy can afford. The students there are said to have family fortunes averaging tens of billions."
"These kids have won at the starting line early on, enjoying resources from childhood that we can't even imagine."
Among more than a dozen RVs, Grace's station wagon looked like a tiny sparrow.
The other parents, sitting in their RVs, looked at Grace's car as if watching a comedy show.
"Is that Max's mother? How could she drive such a car for camping?"
"I haven't seen such a cheap car in ages."
"How shabby! Last time at the school gala, I saw her carrying a Hermès bag. Someone who can afford Hermès can't even buy an RV?"
"Hahaha! This is the most ridiculous thing I've encountered today. How embarrassing to show up for camping in such a car!"
The weather was beautiful today, with just the right amount of sunshine that felt warm on the skin.
A gentle breeze blew pleasantly.
The wealthy wives sat in their vehicles, refusing to get out.
Grace got out of her car and glanced around, unable to tell which RV belonged to Alexander.
Max said, "Mommy, should we set up the tent now?" He was eager to try.
Grace said, "Of course!"
She lifted the equipment from the car and began preparing to set up.
However, the skylight tent was more difficult to assemble than she had imagined. Grace stared at the thick stack of instruction manuals in dismay, momentarily at a loss for where to begin.
Max took the instruction manual from her hands, flipped through a few pages, and smiled lightly, "It's actually quite simple!"
Grace asked, "You understand it?"
Max nodded. "Yes, I get it." He took charge of directing while Grace handled the assembly—a clear division of labor.
Grace fixed the organized tent frame sections in sequence at the campsite. Soon the tent structure was complete, leaving only the tent cover installation.
The children and parents from the RVs gradually got out of their vehicles.
The parents clearly looked down on Grace's tent, but the children were incredibly curious and came over to watch.
The tent was only half-assembled when a luxury RV slowly drove into the campsite.
Grace looked up, and upon seeing this RV, she immediately guessed it must be Alexander's.
Because this RV was too conspicuous.
An EleMMent Palazzo, globally limited edition, hailed as a palace on wheels, worth up to $2.4 million. The interior was fully equipped, comparable to a five-star hotel.
Besides the master bedroom suite, it featured interior fireplaces, satellite TV, and even a bar.
However, inside the RV, the atmosphere was somewhat tense.
Liam sat with his arms crossed, his face turned toward the window, clearly feeling sulky.
Emily sat across from him. No matter how much she tried to please him, Liam remained indifferent to her, making her feel extremely awkward.
