Chapter 24 The Property Registered Under Her Name
Mia ground her teeth in fury. This little brat! Why didn't he die from his illness when he was younger?
"What are you all standing around for?" Mia pointed at Grace, Liam, and Max. "Throw them all out! I'm your client, I'm a Radiant Pinnacle homeowner. Are you just going to stand there and watch your clients get insulted like this?"
"Yes, yes."
The manager and property consultant called security and prepared to escort them out.
Jeremy walked over, and seeing Grace surrounded by people, his expression darkened. "What's going on here?"
The manager said, "This lady hasn't provided proof of assets and doesn't qualify to purchase property here."
Jeremy frowned, and before he could say anything, Alexander finished his phone call and returned, glancing around. "What's the problem?"
"They want to throw Ms. Foster out."
The manager quickly explained, "Sir, Radiant Pinnacle has strict screening standards for clients. They need to provide asset verification reports before they can make a purchase..."
Alexander interrupted, "I don't need any of that."
The manager said, "Unless you're making a direct cash purchase for the full amount." As he spoke, he looked at Grace doubtfully. He didn't think Grace looked like someone who could come up with the full purchase price.
Alexander said, "Do I really need a mortgage for such an inexpensive property?"
At these words, Mia's face turned grim.
This man certainly sounded wealthy!
He looked distinguished and clearly came from money, but what kind of net worth would it take to pay cash for a Radiant Pinnacle unit?
She glanced at Jayden Brown.
The Brown family was considered old money in Silverlight City, and even they had bought their Radiant Pinnacle wedding home with a fifty percent down payment. Being able to put down $1.5 million as a down payment was already beyond most people's financial reach.
Mia couldn't help but look at Alexander more closely, suddenly recognizing his suit - Armani bespoke tailoring. That suit alone cost $120,000.
Who was he, and what was his relationship to Grace?
Alexander looked at Grace. "Have you decided which unit you like?"
Grace said, "Why are you asking me?"
Alexander replied, "Isn't this one of the requirements you mentioned to me?"
Grace was speechless.
All she had asked for was alternative living arrangements; she hadn't said anything about buying a specific property!
Besides, would this property be registered under her name?
Could she even make that decision?
Grace said, "The 2,800 square foot units are sold out."
She didn't think Alexander would spend $20 million on a 4,000 square foot penthouse just for her request.
Mia couldn't stand it anymore and mocked, "What kind of act are you two putting on? I just put a deposit down on the last 2,800 square foot unit - it's my wedding home! If you can't afford it, get out of here!"
Rumor had it that Radiant Pinnacle's 3,600 and 4,000 square foot luxury units were designed for the elite of the elite. Even regular wealthy families couldn't afford them, which was why only three units had sold so far.
They were simply too expensive.
In fact, $20 million could buy a nice mansion in many excellent neighborhoods in Silverlight City.
Alexander gave Mia a cold glance.
Just that one look made Mia feel like her heels were frozen, and her heart skipped a beat.
This man's gaze was terrifying!
His eyes clearly showed indifferent emotion, but he naturally commanded respect without anger, carrying a frightening sense of authority.
Alexander said, "Are you speaking to me?"
Mia felt intimidated for a moment. "I... I was talking to her!" She pointed at Grace. "She can't afford property here and is pretending to be wealthy!"
Grace said, "Did I say I was buying it?"
Alexander said, "If the 2,800 square foot unit isn't available, we'll take the 4,000 square foot one."
As soon as he finished speaking, it took everyone a few seconds to process what he'd said, and then they all froze.
Alexander added, "Cash payment." He turned to Jeremy. "Use my private account."
The manager asked tentatively, "Sir, are you serious?"
Alexander said, "I don't have time for jokes."
The manager said, "That unit is priced around $20 million... What's your surname, sir?"
Alexander said, "Hayes."
Seeing that he didn't seem to be joking, the manager immediately perked up like he'd been injected with adrenaline. "Will you be paying the full amount today, or signing a purchase agreement today?"
"Today." Alexander suddenly raised his hand and pointed at Grace. "Register it under her name."
Now it was Grace's turn to be stunned.
She frowned, looking at Alexander in disbelief, not quite processing what she'd heard. "Under my name?"
He was buying this property as a gift for her?
No wonder Jeremy had specifically asked her to bring her identification before leaving - so this was why.
Grace remembered Alexander's words about owing him a favor and that she wouldn't lose out.
But wasn't his favor a bit too expensive?
Perhaps for Alexander, a $4 million property really wasn't much.
As CEO of Crest Corporation and heir to the Hayes family, Alexander could turn Silverlight City upside down with a gesture.
Max listened with some skepticism. Although Alexander sounded generous, a $20 million property wasn't cheap. Would he use this later to demand favors from his mother, making unreasonable requests?
But thinking it over, regardless of the outcome, Grace wouldn't lose out.
Jeremy walked over to the manager. "Let's proceed with the paperwork."
"And you are...?"
"I'm this gentleman's executive assistant." Jeremy opened his briefcase. "My boss has a tight schedule and other appointments. This property will be registered under this lady's name, and I'll handle the payment."
Alexander said to Grace, "You stay here to handle the process. I have other business."
With that, he picked up Liam to leave.
Liam looked at Grace with some reluctance.
Alexander said, "You'll see her tonight."
This little guy really couldn't be separated from this woman for even a moment.
Hearing he could see Grace that evening, Liam obediently settled against Alexander's shoulder and stopped fidgeting.
Even after Alexander left carrying Liam, Mia still hadn't recovered, feeling like her face had been slapped by an invisible hand, burning with humiliation.
Beside her, Jayden Brown asked, "Mia, who is she exactly?"
Mia bit her lip, her face ashen as she demanded, "Grace, who was that man? What's your relationship with him?"
Grace said, "I have no obligation to answer that question."
Mia suddenly shouted, "You're being kept as a mistress, aren't you? How shameless."
Her voice was too loud.
Suddenly, everyone in the sales center turned to look at Grace, and judgmental, contemptuous, and curious gazes fell upon her.
Grace laughed coldly, turned around, and retorted sarcastically, "A kept woman? Even if I am, I'm worth more than you."
Mia's face turned even grimmer.
