Chapter 62 Epilogue

Chapter 62 Epilogue
Drey Locsin had everything planned out for his life after the wedding. He'd love his mate and pups forever, give them the best life, and together live happily ever after.

What he didn't see coming was touring the world with Jeremy and Jaden right after the wedding and had been doing that for almost a year so that their baby Dorathy was born on a different pack land.

And somehow the entire year Percy gave them as their honeymoon holiday was used entirely on traveling from one vacation destination to another until eventually they were currently in Rendro Pack for the New Year's celebration.

Drey sat on one of the comfortable chairs, looking completely exhausted as he watched his mate bubble with energy while chatting happily with Mica and Caroline.

"I think after we leave here, we should visit the northern packs," Jeremy said excitedly. "I've heard their mountains are beautiful this time of the year. Then we can go to the coastal packs and maybe spend a few weeks there before heading back home."

Mica's eyes lit up.

"That sounds like so much fun! You should definitely do it. Oh I know Oliver and I could also go on trips, I'd love to run up a mountain at night to offer a close up prayer to the moon goddess" Mica laughed seeing her plans form in her head already and she squealed "it's gonna be fun"

Jeremy laughed encouraging her.

Drey slowly turned his head toward them and his tired eyes met Oliver's from across the room who shook his head and gave him a look that clearly said, Look what you've done.

Drey stared at him for a few seconds before looking away. He was too tired to care about his pending problem.

He had no idea how Jeremy could still have this much energy after travelling for almost a year while caring for two children.

"Imagine getting married and then spending your first year of marriage travelling around the world," Caroline said with a laugh.

Jeremy smiled brightly.

"That's the point of having a rich husband?"

Mica and Caroline burst into laughter.

Drey sighed.

"That's my money he's spending."

"And your money is my money," Jeremy replied without even looking at him.

"Exactly," Drey muttered.

Oliver shook his head.

"You're finished, brother."

"I know." Drey sighed in reply as the others continued to make plans.

Meanwhile, across the compound, Aiden was overseeing the children as they played amongst themselves. Four years old Jaden was even more enthusiastic as he moved around being playful and jovial.

The male omega smiled as he watched him, but his expression slowly changed when his eyes landed on Jaden's hip bone that showed when he raised his arm while playing, revealing the mark there.

A half-white moon.

His heart immediately began beating faster as he stared at the mark for a few seconds but he calms down when he remembered Caroline's words years ago.

He sighed when Dorathy began to cry and walked up to pick her up but as he raised her up his blood ran cold at what he saw. The baby girl's shoulder was exposed slightly beneath her clothing revealing another half-moon. Except hers was black.

Aiden swallowed hard, what could this mean?

The world leaders said a single wolf would be born with the symbol of a black full moon but why are there two halves on two siblings.

He knew he shouldn't jump to conclusions, but seeing the marks on both children made the fear return all over again.

He couldn't keep it to himself, as preparations for the night were going on at its peak with everyone doing a thing or two, Aiden quickly sought out Caroline and pulled her aside.

"Alpha Caroline..."

She looked at him.

"What is it?"

"I saw something on the children."

Caroline frowned.

"What did you see?"

"The marks." Aiden's voice dropped into a whisper. "The moon marks. Jaden has a white half, and the little girl has a black half."

Caroline stared shocked for a short time before sighing.

"Aiden, we've already talked about this."

"But Alpha—"

"Those elders know nothing," she interrupted firmly. "They only wanted to sow seeds of fear among our people. They said a single wolf bears the mark, but the children have two different marks. For all we know it might not even be a moon mark. If you begin to worry now you know you'll only hurt your health"

Aiden lowered his gaze.

"I know, Alpha."

"So don't frighten yourself over a mark. Jeremy's kid are not it, okay?"

"Yes, Alpha."

Caroline patted his shoulder reassuringly before walking away.

Aiden remained where he was and leaned on the wall. He wanted to believe her, he really did, but somehow, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was something they didn't know and should pay attention to.

Still, he said nothing more and tried to be calm.

The celebration began and music filled the pack grounds, laughter echoed through the night, and everyone welcomed the new year with smiles and drinks.

For once, there were no battles, no hiding, no persecutions, no pain, no loss... Just happiness.

That night, Drey stood on the balcony with Jeremy in his arms.
Jeremy held a wide-awake Dorathy against his chest while Jaden sat on the table in front of them, his little eyes fixed on the sky as the first fireworks exploded above them.

Bright colours painted the night sky and Jeremy sighed contentedly.
Drey tightened his arms around him and rested his chin gently against his shoulder.

"I can't believe another year is starting," Jeremy whispered and Drey smiled.

"Neither can I."

After everything they had been through, this moment felt almost unreal. They had travelled the world, built a family and here they were celebrating the end of a year and the beginning of another together.

Drey looked down at his mate and leaned down to capture his lips for a sweet kiss as more fireworks exploded in the sky.

He might have to deal with Jeremy's endless list of places he wanted to visit. He might never have a peaceful house again because his two pups make noises a whole market should make.

But honestly...

He wouldn't trade any of it.

Jeremy broke the kiss to look at him.

"Happy New Year, Alpha."

"Happy New Year, Omega."

They shared a short, gentle kiss before turning back toward the sky.

Jeremy smiled as he watched the fireworks.

Drey smiled too.

For the first time in a long time, neither of them wanted anything more.

They had each other.

They had their children.

They had a family.

And they were happy.

Somewhere far away...

The night was completely silent.

No laughter, no music, no fireworks. Only darkness.
Then, somewhere within that darkness, a symbol on the wall slowly began to glow.

A full moon.

A pair of amber eyes opened.
Dark fingers slowly traced over the glowing symbol making the dark figure smile.

"Finally..."

The hoarse voice whispered into the darkness.

"It's here."
