Old Master Robinson had boarded the ship at some point and arrived just in time to see Moira about to hit Callie. He immediately spoke up to stop her.
Moira turned around and saw it was Old Master Robinson.
Given how respectfully Damian had treated him at the hospital that day, it was clear he held a significant status.
So, she didn't dare let her hand fall.
Reluctantly, she stepped back behind Damian.
Old Master Robinson, leaning on his cane, walked over.
He said to Damian, "Come with me."
As a junior, Damian couldn't refuse. Before leaving, he gave his men a look, signaling them to keep a close watch on Callie and not let her escape during this moment.
His men understood and grabbed hold of her.
Once they reached the container, Old Master Robinson looked at Damian and said, "Release the child and Callie right now, and there's still time to make things right..."
"Grandfather, what do you mean by 'still time'?" Damian interrupted Old Master Robinson, questioning him.
Without waiting for a response, he continued, "Do you think you can convince Shane?"
Old Master Robinson's expression gradually darkened.
"If you let them go now, I can persuade him. As long as I'm alive, he will respect my wishes," Old Master Robinson said.
Damian refused, "Grandpa, my dad is also your son, and I am your grandson. But you gave all the Robinson Family's wealth to Shane. Grandpa, you're being too biased. I'm dissatisfied, and my struggle is because of you."
Butler Imani couldn't stand it anymore and spoke up, "The reason Master gave all the property to the Eldest Young Master is because..."
"Imani," Old Master interrupted him in time. "Since you're determined, I have nothing more to say. Whether it's a blessing or a curse, you'll have to bear it yourself."
"Of course, I'll bear it myself!" Damian was very clear about what he was doing, and naturally, he would take responsibility for the outcome.
He wouldn't deny the consequences of his own actions.
"In that case, I have nothing more to say." Old Master Robinson, leaning on his cane, started to walk out. Butler Imani didn't understand why the Old Master didn't tell Damian about his mother's actions. "Master..."
"Enough," he waved his hand, signaling for him to stop talking.
Butler Imani had no choice but to keep quiet.
It was only after they had left the ship that Butler Imani voiced his confusion. "Master, didn't you board the ship to find the child? It's clear the child is on the ship, along with Callie..."
"Imani," Old Master Robinson interrupted him, "how do you think the Robinson Family can thrive and prosper?"
Without hesitation, Butler Imani replied, "Naturally, it takes capable, visionary, and decisive individuals. Only such people can ensure the Robinson Family's enduring success, right?"
After speaking, Butler Imani realized Old Master Robinson's intention and widened his eyes in surprise. "You want to see which of the two has more skill, don't you?"
Old Master Robinson spoke with a heavy heart, "I should give Shane a chance."
The Robinson Family was indeed his responsibility.
Whether he could secure the future of the Robinson Family now depended entirely on his own abilities.
He didn't intervene this time because he wanted to see if Damian could defeat Shane.
If Damian won, it would be a good choice to let him manage the Robinson Family in the future.
That would be fair.
Let their abilities speak for themselves!
"Right now, the Second Young Master seems to have the upper hand. He has a hold on the First Young Master's weakness," Butler Imani said.
Old Master Robinson replied, "It appears that way now, but the outcome is still uncertain."
On the ship, Callie was taken to another container by Damian's men.
Inside, she saw a makeshift bed made of wooden crates with just a single blanket on it. Her child was lying there, completely unresponsive to the loud footsteps. This was clearly not normal.
Callie rushed over and picked up her child, gently patting his face, but there was no reaction. Her sharp gaze turned to Damian. "What did you do to my child?"
Damian remained indifferent. "He was too noisy, so I gave him a little sleeping pill."
Callie was furious. "He's just a baby!"
He completely ignored her anger. "He won't die!"
He didn't intend to harm the child; he just couldn't stand the constant crying. The loud cries would attract unwanted attention, so he consulted a doctor and then gave the child a sedative.
Callie was trembling with rage. She put the child down and charged forward. Her movements were so swift that no one had time to react. By the time everyone realized what was happening, she was already in front of Damian.
Someone tried to step in to stop her, but Callie's slap had already landed on his face.
Smack!
The crisp sound echoed through the container.
Everyone was stunned!
Callie's arm went numb from the force of the slap; she had put all her strength into it.
"Callie Norris!" Moira shouted, rushing forward to push her away. "How dare you hit him?"
Callie's eyes were blazing with fury. "What wouldn't I dare? If anything happens to my child, I'll fight him to the death!"
"If you touch him, I'll fight you to the death!" Moira's eyes were filled with rage. She knew that he had broken up with her for her own safety, not because he had betrayed her. In that moment, she loved him even more and was truly willing to fight for him!
Damian pushed Moira out of his way and strode towards Callie.
His face twisted into a bark, resembling a wild beast.
Callie stepped back, her eyes wary. "If you have a grudge against Shane, take it up with him. What kind of man takes it out on a baby?"
Damian squinted, a bright red handprint clear on his cheek. He sneered, "I've never been slapped before. You're the first. Do you think I can forgive you?"
Callie lifted her chin stubbornly, despite being at a disadvantage. "You hurt my child. Do you think I can forgive you?"
Crack—
Damian clenched his fists, the veins on the back of his hands bulging, and his knuckles cracking.
He laughed angrily, "Fine. I don't hit women, but I can make your life a living hell and humiliate Shane at the same time."
Callie felt a sinking feeling in her gut. She suppressed her fear and asked coldly, "What are you planning?"
"Of course, I'm going to get back at you for that slap." He glanced evilly at his subordinates. "This woman is yours. Such a beautiful woman, make sure you love her well. She’s someone Shane has slept with. Now you get to share something with him. Consider it a privilege."
After saying that, he wrapped his arm around Moira. "Let's go."
As they reached the exit of the shipping container, he halted and turned to his subordinates. "Don't disappoint me. And make sure to record everything. I want everyone to know that Shane's woman is nothing but a public plaything. He will wear that green hat for sure."
"Damian, I'm your sister-in-law!" Callie desperately tried to make him retract his words.
She knew her chances were slim, but she had no other options left.
Damian let out a cold snort. "So what if you're my sister-in-law? Shane and I are mortal enemies. Do you really think being my sister-in-law means anything to me?"
Callie was so terrified that she took a step back.
Damian's men stared at her like hungry wolves, ready to pounce and devour her at any moment.
"Grandfather, where is Grandfather?" Callie suddenly remembered Old Master Robinson.
"He's my grandfather," Damian sneered. "Calling for help is useless. On this ship, I am the law. Besides, the old man disembarked a long time ago. There's no one here to save you. You're trapped. If you want to blame someone, blame Shane. It's his fault for making you his woman and having his child. If I don't target you, who else should I target?"
Callie's eyes were cold and distant.
The Robinson Family feud had reached a point of no return—either you die, or I live.
"Alright, go ahead," He ordered his men mercilessly.
With Damian's command, the men who had been stuck on the ship for a long time, deprived of seeing a fresh female face—especially one as stunning as Callie—began to stir with excitement.
In the next moment, they swarmed towards her.
They started tearing at her clothes.
"Get off me!" Callie struggled.
Rip—
Callie's blouse was torn open, revealing her delicate, flawless skin.
Her icy, jade-like complexion made their eyes burn with lust, their beast instincts taking over.
"Hold her arms and legs," the leader of the group instructed. "I'll go first."
Callie was pinned down onto a wooden crate, her limbs restrained. Her torn blouse revealed her shoulder strap, her long neck, and her exposed shoulders. Her struggling only intensified the men's desire to conquer her.
"Damn, she's irresistible," one of the men said as he lunged at her!
Callie frantically kicked her legs, but she couldn't break free from the restraints.
She was terrified.
Absolutely terrified!
"Help! Somebody help me!" she screamed, losing all composure.
It wasn't that she wasn't trying to stay calm; it was just that the situation was overwhelming. There were too many of them, each one staring at her like a hungry wolf. She had no chance.
"Scream all you want. The more you scream, the more excited I get," the man said, taking off his shirt.
Just as he was about to pin her down, there was a loud crash as the container door was kicked open!
The man, irritated, turned around. "Who the hell—"
Before he could finish his sentence, a dark figure flashed before his eyes, and he was sent flying with a powerful kick!
His body arched through the air like a thrown object, crashing into the metal wall of the container with a loud bang. He landed on the ground, clutching his stomach in agony, twitching and groaning in pain.
"Who are you people?..."
Damian's men were caught off guard by the sudden intrusion. One of them barked, "Do you know whose territory this is? Are you tired of living?"
Henry's voice was cold and menacing. "You overestimate yourselves. No one here is getting out today!"
With his words, the people he brought with him stormed in, overwhelming Damian's men with sheer force.
In the confined space of the container, chaos erupted, filled with the sounds of fighting and cries of pain.
Callie struggled to her feet, feeling a sudden warmth on her shoulder. She looked up to see Shane standing there.
Though he appeared calm, his eyes were filled with suppressed anger, making it less obvious but still there.
Callie could see the fear and heartache in his eyes.
Was his fear and heartache because of her?
She didn't know, nor did she have time to ponder. She quickly adjusted the suit jacket she was wearing, scrambled off the suitcase, and ran to Leif, picking him up. The sudden movement startled him, but it seemed the effect of the drug was wearing off.
Leif didn't cry; he just opened his big, round eyes, curiously looking around.
Callie tried to hold back her tears, but they still fell, landing on Leif's face.
"I'm sorry," she choked out, her voice hoarse with guilt and hatred.
She blamed herself for not taking better care of him and hated Damian for feeding her child a sedative.
Suddenly, she looked up.
Shane was staring intently at the baby in her arms.
His gaze was complicated and intense.
He wanted to reach out and touch the child, but his hands trembled violently, overwhelmed with emotion.
Was this his child?
Did he have a child?
Was he a father now?
"He..." he began, his voice rough and strained.
Callie held Leif tightly, carefully, but her voice was calm and composed. "Shane, now is not the time for emotions. I was almost... and Leif was given a sedative."
"I know." Shane had never forgotten. The moment he received Callie's message, he immediately had her phone tracked. The signal led him to the dock, but there the trail went cold. He knew that if the trail ended at the dock, then her disappearance must be connected to it.
So, he quickly searched for clues at the dock. During his search, he saw his grandfather disembarking from a boat.
In that instant, he had his answer. He gathered his men and set off to search the sea.
He blamed himself for not acting faster.
If he had arrived even a moment later, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
Thinking about what he saw happening to Callie made his breath quicken.
He felt a destructive rage building inside him!
His eyes were as sharp as blades.
But when he saw her and their son, that sharpness softened into a gentleness reserved only for those he held dear.
He gently pulled Callie into his arms. "I'll take you to a safe place first."
Callie nodded. This was definitely not a place to stay for long!
She followed him out of the shipping container. Hearing the commotion, Damian hurried over.
Seeing that Shane had already rescued Callie and the baby, his face turned dark instantly. "How did you find this place?"
He had been confident that Shane would never track him down.
Damian was well-versed in Henry's investigative methods, which is why he had managed to evade his scrutiny.
Now, he was baffled. Since he had successfully dodged Henry's investigation, how had Shane managed to find this place?
Moira seemed to have a sudden realization. She looked at Callie. "Was it you? I remember you looking at your phone on the way to the dock. Did you leak our location then?"
Damian's eyes flared with anger. "Did you ruin my plans?"
Her gaze was icy. "Plans? What you did were wicked acts that defy all human decency. You will face retribution!"
Moira, realizing that she had inadvertently sabotaged Damian's plan, felt a deep sense of guilt towards him. She looked at Callie with hatred in her eyes.
If she hadn't recklessly trusted her and been used by her, Damian's plan wouldn't have fallen apart, and no one would have discovered his illegal casino operation!
She clenched her fist tightly.
Even at this point, Damian refused to admit defeat. He didn't believe he had lost; he wasn't at the end of his rope yet.
He still had a chance to turn the tables.
"The outcome is still uncertain," Damian said, lifting his head proudly.
Shane stood tall, holding Callie close. His elegant posture was cast in shadow by the sunlight on the deck, emanating a chilling aura. "I'll settle today's score with you," he declared.
With a deep, commanding voice, he called out, "Henry."
Henry immediately approached. "Yes, President Robinson."
"Throw that man into the sea to feed the fish," Shane ordered, his expression icy and without any warmth.
Henry understood and promptly dragged out the man who had attempted to assault Callie. The man, already beaten to the point where he couldn't stand, was hauled away.
"Throw him overboard," Henry assisted.
The man screamed in terror, "Spare me! Spare me! I won't do it again! I was just following orders—it was the Second Young Master who told us to do it..."
"Throw him," Shane commanded, fully aware that Damian was the mastermind.
Killing him served two purposes: avenging Callie and venting his own anger. How dare that fool touch any woman he pleased! He must have had a death wish!
The second purpose was to make Damian's subordinates see clearly.
Offending him led to no good end, and the people they followed couldn't save them either!
"Second Young Master, save me!" A grown man cried out in desperation.
Damian wanted to help, but he was powerless at this moment.
There was simply no way to save anyone.
"I've done so much for you, Second Young Master. You can't just let me die, especially since you were the one who ordered us to bully her." The man tried to persuade Damian.
The ship was clearly under Shane's control. Damian himself was having a hard time escaping, so how could he possibly save him?
Henry directly threw the man overboard with a loud splash, sending water flying everywhere!
The man couldn't swim and struggled desperately in the water.
"Help..." His body sank, and he swallowed a mouthful of water. "Help me..." He sank again, gulping down more water.
Splash, splash, the man waved, water splashing everywhere!
Everyone on the ship watched with wide eyes, but no one dared to lend a hand.
Damian's subordinates shrank back, terrified that they might be the next ones thrown into the sea.
In such deep waters, even a good swimmer would eventually tire and drown!
The man's struggles grew weaker and weaker, teetering on the edge of death.
Shane smiled faintly. "It seems that those who follow you don't meet a good end, do they?" Damian's face turned ashen.
Wasn't this an attempt to undermine his subordinates' loyalty to him?
Suddenly, the sound of sirens filled the air!
The sound of police sirens grew louder, and the gamblers, who had been deeply engrossed in their games, began to hear it too. They rushed out of the shipping container, swarming around Damian and demanding, "Why are the cops here?"
Their activities were illegal, and the fear of getting caught made them panic.
"Quiet if you don't want to get caught," Damian barked angrily.
Pushing through the crowd, he made his way to Shane. "If this gets out, it won't be good for you either. Don't forget, I'm part of the Robinson Family too. Aren't you worried about ruining the family's reputation?"
Gambling was illegal, yet Damian had set up a casino.
Everyone knew his identity!
If this got exposed, he would be entangled in lawsuits. And as a member of the Robinson Family, how could Shane come out unscathed?
"Are you not considering the consequences?" Damian questioned.
Shane's expression remained indifferent, his lips curling into a disdainful and cold smile. "What does the Robinson Family have to do with me?"
He bore the last name Robinson.
But ever since he saw Old Master Robinson do nothing while knowing Callie and his child were on the ship, he had stopped caring!
From now on, he only wanted to protect his loved ones.
Callie and the child were the ones who truly mattered to him.
Soon, the boat was surrounded.
The blaring sirens were nerve-wracking, sending chills down everyone's spines!
Those who had committed crimes were terrified of being caught, and panic quickly spread, throwing the boat into chaos.
Henry led his men to carve out a path, while Shane shielded Callie and escorted her onto their own boat.
"Henry, I'm leaving this to you. Can you handle it?" Shane's expression was stern.
Henry's recent performance had been less than satisfactory and Shane intended to give him a wake-up call.
Henry was well aware of his shortcomings and replied, "Rest assured, President Robinson."
This time, he was determined to get it right.
Shane trusted Henry and wasn't about to give up on him entirely. He believed in giving second chances.
"Investigate thoroughly. From what I see, those people are far from clean. I don't want them causing trouble again," he said. "Do you understand what I mean?"
"I understand. Those who bullied Mrs. Robinson won't get away," Henry replied. He was indeed sharp; despite Shane's vague words, he grasped the meaning clearly. It was no wonder he had been with Shane for so long.
Shane was always observant, especially when it came to Callie.
He chose his words carefully to match her feelings.
"Go ahead," Shane said calmly.
Henry and his men returned to Damian's place.
Shane ordered the crew to set sailing, and they left the area.
As the boat sailed smoothly across the sea, Callie's heart was in knots, unable to relax even for a moment.
She was terrified something might happen to her child.
Shane hesitated for a long time, but the words "Let me hold the baby" never left his lips.
At this moment, Callie would never let go of her child.
She was so tense, so worried!
Any words of comfort seemed hollow.
"I promise, I won't let you face danger again," Shane said in a deep, serious tone, his eyes fixed on the child in her arms.
The child looked just like him.
Callie didn't look up but responded softly, "Thank you."
Shane understood her feelings at the moment.
When the boat reached the shore, Callie stepped off the deck, holding Leif tightly. "I need to take Leif to the hospital for a check-up."
She was worried that the sleeping pills might have side effects on him.
Shane said, "I'll take you."
"Okay." She responded and got into the car.
Suddenly, his phone rang. It was Butler Imani calling to inform him that Old Master Robinson wanted to see him.
"I got it," he said before hanging up, but he didn't turn back. Instead, he continued to drive Callie to the hospital.
"If you have something important to do, you can go ahead. I have a driver who can take me," Callie suggested.
He replied, "It's not urgent."
In his heart, no matter who was looking for him, nothing was more important than the safety of his son and Callie.
Leif's safety was paramount. If anything happened to him, not even Old Master Robinson would be spared from his wrath!
Soon, the car arrived at the hospital. Shane got out first to open the door for Callie.
He shielded her and the child in her arms as they got out of the car.
After a thorough check-up, the doctors confirmed that the child was fine. It seemed that Damian had given a small dose of the medication.
"Waaah—"
The baby suddenly started crying.
He was hungry.
Shane panicked, "What's going on?"
He thought the doctor might have missed something and that the baby was crying because he was unwell. His eyes shot a sharp glance at the doctor, "How did you check him?"
Callie quickly tugged at his sleeve, "He's just hungry."
It had nothing to do with the doctor.
The doctor was startled by Shane's intense gaze and cautiously suggested, "The pediatric department has some formula. Shall I take you there to feed him?"
Callie nodded.
However, the formula at the hospital didn't satisfy him, and he just kept crying, his voice growing hoarse.
Callie realized it might be the formula, so she decided to take him back to the Norris Family home.
On the way, Shane was extremely tense, "Is he feeling unwell?"
Shane was worried.
His heart was in turmoil, filled with concern.
He was anxious and kept urging the driver to go faster.
The driver, already nervous, was doing his best.
It was a busy time with lots of traffic, and safety had to be ensured.
After what felt like an eternity, the car finally arrived at the Norris Family home.
The house was empty, and Caitlin was nowhere to be found.
Myron had gone to the office.
As soon as Callie walked in, she handed the baby to Shane. "I'll go make the formula."
Leif must have been very hungry to be crying so hard.
In her haste, Callie didn't even consider whether Shane knew how to hold a baby.
Shane had indeed never held a baby before.
This was his first time!
His body was stiff with tension, and he didn't dare move. He looked down at the tiny, soft baby in his arms, and his heart felt like it was melting.
This was his child.
His heart pounded in his chest, racing and roaring, constantly reminding him of his overwhelming emotions.
When Callie finished preparing the formula and came back, she saw Shane standing there, not having moved an inch. His movements were awkward, but he was so careful!
It was clear that he cared and loved Leif.
Callie suddenly felt a wave of relief.
At least he acknowledged his son and loved him.
This was good for both her and the baby.
She walked over and softly said, "Give me the baby, I'll feed him the formula."
But Shane didn't hand the baby over. Instead, he asked, "Can I feed him?"
Callie didn't say a word. She handed him the bottle, letting her actions speak for her.
"Sit down and feed him," she instructed.
Shane was visibly nervous, the veins on his forehead standing out prominently.
Unable to bear it any longer, Callie took the baby from him and started feeding him herself. "You're not used to it yet. You'll get the hang of it once you hold him more often."
Shane let out a heavy sigh.
Leif, who had been crying hard, stopped once he tasted the formula. His face and eyes were still red from the intense crying.
He whimpered and sobbed occasionally, looking utterly pitiful.
Because he had been hungry for so long, he drunk too quickly and too much, and ended up spitting up. Callie gently patted his back.
"What happened?" Shane asked, his voice filled with anxiety. "Why did he spit up?"
"It's nothing," Callie reassured him.
Spitting up is common for babies.
Once Leif felt better, he started getting sleepy again. Callie carried him to the bathroom. "I'm going to give him a bath."
"I'll help you," Shane offered immediately, without a moment's hesitation.
Callie looked at him. This man, so proud and seemingly untouched by the mundane world.
At this moment, he seemed just like an ordinary father in a regular family.
Callie slightly lowered her eyes and said, "Alright, you can help me get some water."
Just as Shane stepped into the bathroom, his phone rang again from his pocket!
Callie frowned, "You should go. I'll take care of Leif."
Shane furrowed his brows, clearly unhappy with the persistent calls.
"I'll be back soon."
Having just met his child, he didn't want to part from them.
He wanted to spend more time with him.
Callie smiled and said, "Alright."
As he walked out of the Norris Family home, the tenderness he showed in front of Callie was replaced by a cold demeanor.
He got into the car and instructed the driver to take him back to the Robinson Family Estate.
Upon arriving at the estate, he got out of the car and walked inside.
Butler Imani was waiting at the door and quickly stepped forward when she saw him. "Young Master..."
Shane's face remained expressionless as he walked and asked, "Why was I called back so urgently?"
Butler Imani smiled, "I don't know either."
Even if he knew, he couldn't say it.
Shane stepped over the doorstep into the main hall. Old Master Robinson was seated at the chessboard. Seeing him enter, he set down his chess piece and said, "I heard about what happened with you, Shane. Did it really involve the police?"
Was this an interrogation?!!
