Mistress Cardona: Pre Pyrches city

Cardona had been desperately trying to survive in her ruling lord's jurisdiction, hiding her young daughters ailment from the coven, she had already lost her companion due to Libbah's uncontrollable feedings, and it didn't help that thparanormal community were being targeted by human hunters. The head of the sang coven had accused her mate of being the cause of all the controllable feedings and had sentenced him to death. the pain of his loss spears through her veins as she hides her daughter in one of the tunnels he had built to protect his family. The hunting had become more frequent and she knew her time was running out. Her mate had given his life to protect them, as she stared at her daughter, blood tears fell down her face, not only had she lost Mataeus, she had also lost her gargoyle companions along side him, they had defended him until they could no longer speak, and when the life drained from their eyes, she knew it wasn't long before the leader found out the truth and gave them to the hunters. She knew she could not trust anyone in the Sange house, with no one to turn to she clutched her daughter tightly before placing her in the tunnel her mate had carved out for them with his hands. " mom im scared, what if i lose you too, it should have been me, Gladri ... i miss Gladri", Mistress Cardona takes a deep breath, holding back the sob that threatens to leave her lips. hearing the heartbreak in her daughters voice, knowing that she wont ever experience the companionship a vampire experiences with their goddess chosen gaurdian. she draws strength and replies, "Dont ever wish to switch places with another, everything that happens is meant to, i will be back. i promise. don't leave until i come back, and be very quiet" her daughter nods her head and puts her hands over her mouth to hold in the sob as her mother closes the wall.

The main room door opens and she turns around quickly on the defense. " Master Bastei is requesting your presence, hes not in a good mood. " Mistress Cardona straightens her posture and follows the messenger out of her suite. as she walks towards the leader's study, many of her the Sange family turn their backs on her, making her lift her head higher as shes lead to the unknown. When she walks in, Bastei lifts his hand as he finishes a call. the messenger bows and turns to Cadona giving her a knowing look, smirking as he walks out the office closing the doors behind him, she remains standing and focusing on keeping her emotions in check. knowing that even in his distraction, he is listening very closely for any slip ups. Bastei had begun to distrust her the moment it was made clear her strength would surpass his own. Her mate had been a distant relative of the vampire king and when she mated him, her power level had also increased. at the time she was unaware of her mates lineage, it wasn't until they blood bonded that she felt the depths of his power, having been born with it, her husband had known how ti hide his power, she wasn't as lucky. " You are now the head of the Cardona house, not that its much of a house anymore, what am i to do with you now? With a young child i don't see how you could be an asset to our coven, unless you are willing to surrender her care to the Sange house, i have no use of you. " She wanted to curse him, her house hadn't been a large one, but she came from a proud loyal house, one that believed in their king. It had become clear that Bastei was after the throne. she didn't realize how embroiled he had become with the human hunters, but it all made sense. the new rules, the curfews, everyone in the sang house was now followed every time they left. She wasn't even allowed to send out or receive any letters from friends on other covens . Bastei feared that someone would alert the King of his plans.

" Well?, what shall i do?" he asks, nosy bothering to look at her, which said all she needed to know. he was planning on either giving her to the hunters for experimenting, or had plans to end her life the same way he had killed off her family. she knew better than to say anything. he didn't really want an answer. " I have a family interested in your girl. a vampire family, who can better care for her. " her heart sunk. she went to plead with Batei when the messenger comes running in the room frantic, stinking of fear. "My lord! im sorry for the interruption, but King Siderael has breached the walls. hes killed all the hunters and had decimated your guards, hes clearing house. " he blurts out. She doesn't wait for Bastei's reply, she runs out the study and races to her rooms praying that the king hadn't gotten there already. If the King was here, he wouldn't spare anyone. When she gets to the door she see every one darting in and out of the hall trying to escape the inevitable fate they know is coming. she enters her rooms just as she hears her fellow covensmen falling to their deaths. Heart pounding she rushes to the wall and debates on whether or not she should open it. before she can make a choice she hears a scraping sound behind her and whirls around preparing to fight with everything she has to protect her child. what she sees gives her pause. The king is sitting in her husbands chair staring at her with an eerily calm demeaner. She had never seen him in person, not many have and lived to speak about their encounter. She immediately drops to her knees and bows to him. when she looks up she finds that she is in an empty room. confused but relived she turns again and opens the wall. " Libbah, we have to go now. " However she sees that her daughter is not alone, instead the coven leader Bastei is holing onto her with his nails digging into her jugular. "Tell me how you did it" he hisses. " Tell me! how did you get a message out to the king." he digs his nails deeper into Libbahs throat and it begins to trigger her bloodlust, unable to control herself she begins to thrash and tries to attack baste, who in turn realizes that he had killed the wrong vampire. Seeing the intent in his eyes Cardona doesn't think she just acts, attacking her master with a fury she hadn't known she possessed. He flings Libbah and engages with Cardona, easily deflecting her advances. breathing heavy and bleeding from many wounds, she prepares herself to attack again. Failure isn't an option, because failure means her daughter will become a plaything for the hunters. Bastei senses that she wont stop until her last breath and smiles widely. "Think you can defeat me? you've already lost too much blood, and its clear you haven't been feeding regularly. i have plans for your child, i should have known, but your deceit provided a perfect opportunity to eradicate your house" he preens. She bares her fangs at him. " You wont ever touch her." she goes to attack him again but is knocked to the side before she gets close" thinking one of his guards have entered she braces herself for a killing blow that never comes. INstead she hears the gugling of blood and the heavy thud of a body hitting the floor. she rushes to Libbah and hold her close, taking in other scene in her living room. King sidereal is once again sitting in the same chair she had seen him in before. "i wont harm the mate if my kin, you can relax. " he says in a soft deep voice, not bothering to look at her, he just stared at his bloodsoaked hands and takes a deep sigh. she watches as he rises and glides out of her rooms, he stops at the door, turns to look at libbah then at her, " You are now head if the sang coven, i expect all hunters in your domain to be dealt with swiftly. i will return?, he turns to leave again when hes stopped by the voice of Libbah. "Did you know my dad?" she asks in a small voice, he doesn't turn as he replies. " No, but i feel my knis death everytime one leaves this earth."
