Chapter 47 Closure

Chapter 47 Closure
As what Thyago wanted, she moved to his penthouse and left her pad per his will. All along, she knew they will live together and will occupy the same place but she got stunned when he said he will move out temporally while they were not yet married.
"As much as I wanted to stay here and make love with you over and over, I know it was wrong because we're not married yet. I want to do the right thing now and just wait until we get married, baby."
That's the words he said on the day she moved on his penthouse. He was about to come closer attempting to kiss her on the lips but she immediately moved away from him. As a response, the brute just smirked and cock his brow before he left.
He decided to stay at one of his hotels nearby his office and since he was about to leave the country for business anyway, he said he would like to give her space and time to settle things between her and Matt while he was away.
She then wonders what's with the playing gentleman? It's not like he didn't bed her before or it's not like she was a virgin bride? This is not even a typical romantic wedding so why play being a gentleman? He bought her, that's the obscene word. Probably the bitter and painful fact she could get from the man she love is to be degraded and lose her dignity in this way. She felt like a high-class type of prostitute giving herself for the sake of money. The only difference, Thyago is willing to marry her. He just gave her a legal title but the truth remains that he bought her.
If she would have a choice, she will not marry him. Yes, she already admitted she love him but she knew Thyago doesn't feel the same. He might be vocal in saying how much he wants her so bad but that is just it. Thyago only wanted her body, which came out from his mouth. It is all nothing but lust and she knew that's not a good reason to marry someone. Whatever his reason, she just doesn't wanna know. She agreed with this bullshit for she have no other option to save her firm. He offered her something she couldn't decline. He even offered to build another expansion of theme firm outside the country which is her greatest dream but she will never accept that. It is enough for her that he save her firm. She accepted Thyago's offer to marry him in exchange for saving the firm from financial bankruptcy. It's the only and best option she got so she has to endure the consequences of whatever may befall their upcoming union.
And about Matt, she tried to call him still and even get updates on his secretary but she failed to know his whereabouts until she decided to just stop and give up. As the saying, it's hard to search for a person who hides from you, she just decided to stop and conclude with a decision. If he didn't show up, then she'll consider their relationship is done and over. He was avoiding her for an unknown reason. Well whatever it is, she doesn't wanna know anymore. She never thought the Matt she knew for a long time will be a coward and will leave her in vain without proper closure between them. Perhaps it's a hidden part of him that was finally revealed just now. All she just wanted now is to break up with him in a formal way.
Fortunately, a week after, he finally showed up and ask to talk to her. They met at the restaurant they usually eat together. She waited for him until he came although it took her more than an hour before he show up. She thought maybe she could find a way to talk to him and break to him gently. She doesn't want to lie and deceive him anymore. She will hurt him and he will hate her but isn't that what she deserves for lying and cheating on him?
"What happened?" She asked the moment he seated and settled on his seat.
He didn't answer her and went silent for a moment. He stoops down his head as if he was afraid to look into her eyes.
"Aren't you supposed to explain to me why you promised to help me and then you suddenly vanished without a trace?" She confronted. Finally, he looked at her and met her eyes.
"I was a jerk for being a coward to face and talk to you. I'm sorry..."
"Sorry is the least word I wanna hear from you right now, Matt." She cut him off.
"I don't understand the promises and then all of a sudden, evasion? At least I deserve an explanation for why you have been avoiding me all these days. That's is what I only demand from you, Matt." She said it in an angry but solemn tone.
"Explanation? I think you owe me that too." He stated in a snarky tone. She noticed his eyes darted on hers and that bugged and made her nervous.
"About that Thyago Williams? When do you want to tell me about him? I thought he was only a client but why do you keep on secretly meeting him for the past few weeks?" He accused furiously.
"What do you mean?" She asked trying to clarify things out.
"He been sending you flowers and expensive gifts, always visits your pad and now you were even living in his penthouse. You think you can fool me, Bea?" He accused furiously.
She couldn't help but gape in shock for she never expect that he knew. His face looked so mad and the way he looked at her it's as if he wanted to hurt her. How did he know all about those? Did someone tell him? She wanted to explain but no words would escape her mouth.
"I don't wanna believe Julius but when my own eyes saw you both, I can't believe how could you do that to me. You have been cheating on me all this time, Bea." He said bitterly.
"Matt-- " only word she bother to say when he suddenly cut her off.
"Tell me, is he the same Thyago who broke your heart way back in your teenage days?" He asked solemnly.
She went silent for a moment. She was caught off guard as nervousness surrounded her. She saw him grin bitterly as if with her silence she finally knew the answer.
"I guess, silence means yes..." He uttered painfully.
"I'm so sorry, Matt...." Her tears are now streaming her face. Guilt, embarrassment, and regrets for all the lies she made are what she felt.
"I knew then from the very start it's a one-sided love but I took a chance hoping you'll soon love me back. I know there's something wrong even in the first place. The way I touch you, the way I kiss you, and the way those expressive eyes stare at me? Don't you know it is always a punch on my chest to keep on having doubts that your feelings aren't the same as mine? But I did try my best for you to love me back and you know that."
She never thought that she gave Matt such feelings all along. She knew they were okay. Turned out that's just what she only knew. That all along she was hurting him through her actions. She suddenly felt insensitive for not considering Matt's feelings. And now with these lies and deceptions, she chose to hurt him more knowing all he ever did was nothing but love her.
"You could have been honest to me than cheat on me, Bea. I respected and put you on the pedestal." He said bitterly. God knows how she hate and was ashamed of herself after hearing that from him.
"When you told me what happened about your firm, I offered to help you. It came to my mind that If I helped you save the firm, you would not reject me If I offer you marriage. It was a selfish trick I know, but can you blame me? I love you that much Bea. But when I asked you to let's get married, I never missed the shock and hesitation crossed in your eyes. I wanna take advantage of the situation and ask you to marry me but I suddenly got qualms about the consequences that might befall me, so I never did."
"I don't understand? But why the sudden evasion?" She asked.
"I lied when I told you the buyer backed out in buying the land, truth is I already sold the land. Funny because I have been thinking you will run over me and ask for help. Would you believe I tried to get even with you? I was upset and hurt so I dated and went out with some other girls too. I came to a point where I wanted to inflict the pain you cause me but I know I'll only hurt myself in the process because beyond all this, I still fucking love you! I'm telling you this not to hurt you but to be honest with you. One thing you never did on this relationship." Again that word was another slap on her face. She understands his hate and she has no right to question his actions because what she did is worst.
"I went away to think solemnly, to figure out what I really wanted. I'm sorry I took for granted your calls and avoided you. You have to understand that I was on the brink of thinking about whether to keep on loving you or set you free. You see, I don't wanna make decisions that I will regret in the end." He explained.
It was just so sad he chose to go and avoid her when they could talk about their problem all along. If he only confronted her earlier about her lies and deceptions. Who knows she will not end up accepting Thyavo's offer? Worst is he promised to help her then he left her hanging relying on his promise. She can't blame him, she lied and hurt him when all he did is love her so through these years.
"Now that you finally decided to show up, you came up with the good decision I presume?" She wiped away her tears and face him. She deserves his hate and cruelty. Knowing what she did to him, she deserve all of this.
"Don't worry, I'll do the right thing, Bea. I am setting you free now. This is what's best for the both of us." He stated bitterly.
She was stunned in his sudden decision. He chose to be honest in the end even it will mean hurting himself in the process. She envied his courage and strength, one thing she should have done first. She does appreciate Matt's honesty. How come she never learned to love this amazing man? She was foolish indeed. Well, a bad and deceitful woman like her doesn't deserve to be happy. A man as good as Matt deserves more than her.
"Thanks, Matt..." She genuinely said. He responded her a smile, a kind of smile that didn't reach his eyes.
"Do you really love him, Bea?" That question jittered her. When she looked at his eyes pain was written all over his blue pools so she somehow had qualms answering him.
"I just wanna know if it's worth my sacrifice. This time I wanna hear from you the truth. I deserve it at least. I promise I won't bother you anymore." He joked bitterly and that somehow ease her.
"I love him still." She replied honestly.
"Lucky Bastard..." She heard him tailed the words then cursed.
"One more thing. I still wanna give you this."
He took something in his wallet and hand it over to her. It was a check. When she take a look at it, it was a big amount of money. The money he promised to give her.
"I can't accept it." Her voice broke as tears started to fall again in her eyes.
"Keep it. I really wanna help you."
"Thank you for your concern but I won't accept it." She declined.
See this good man he hurt! He still wanna do good for her until the end. See how foolish she is to waste and throw their relationship?
"Okay, If you want to make it a lend money, it's fine. Pay me as soon as you can. I just really wanna help you." He insisted.
"It's fine now, Matt. Thyago will help me. Things are working better now." She decided to tell him.
He went silent but it's as if he didn't get surprised. Long silence occurred between them until she decided to talk.
"Thanks for everything Matt. I can only wish to find the right girl for you. You deserve someone better than me." She consoled.
"Stop compensating and consoling me, please. My heart was totally in a wreck and you can do nothing to make it better as of now, Bea." He stated in a painful tone.
"So I guess, this is goodbye." She nodded lightly as a response because no words will escape her mouth.
After bading each other's goodbye, she heaved a deep sigh seeing Matt walking away from her. Things between them are over and she was glad they finally made a closure before they end their relationship. She was indeed stupid she let this man go and chose a jerk of a man who doesn't love her. Perhaps this is her karma for hurting and lying to a good person like Matt. She doesn't expect him to forgive her that easily. She would understand if he still shows coldness and hates if they ever cross paths again in the future. She deserves his hatred. He deserves to be happy and find a girl who will love him back and will not hurt him. She could only wish him nothing but the best in life.
