"You don't need to come over. Just have fun with Ollie outside."
Lance didn't want Eula to come and cause trouble.
After saying that, he hung up the phone.
On the other side, Eula put down her phone, her face looking displeased.
Ollie, noticing her expression, pretended not to see it and asked with concern, "What did Lance say? Does he need us to go over?"
"He doesn't want us to go over. He told us to enjoy ourselves."
Eula informed him truthfully, her eyes flashing with unwillingness.
She put away her phone, looked up, and said, "I'm still a bit worried. I want to go over and check. Do you want to come with me?"
With Ollie there, even if Lance was unhappy, he probably wouldn't drive them away.
Ollie wasn't stupid. He knew why Eula wanted to bring him along.
He shook his head and refused, not wanting to take the blame for this woman. "Lance doesn't want us to go. We better not. Besides, Lance is very capable. With him there, we don't need to worry."
Eula looked at the man who refused her and felt extremely frustrated.
But it was impossible for her to just give up.
She was too curious about why Deanna had jumped off the building.
"If you don't want to go, then forget it. I'll go by myself. We'll meet another day."
Leaving these words behind, Eula ignored Ollie and gestured to the hidden bodyguards not far behind her.
Within seconds, a black car stopped in front of her.
After nodding at Ollie, she got into the car and left.
Ollie showed a bitter expression on his face and then took out his phone to inform Lance.
"Lance, Eula is coming to see you. I couldn't stop her. You can't blame me!"
"I know. Thanks for your hard work these days."
Lance responded coldly.
Ollie chuckled and then asked with concern, "Is your wife really okay?"
"She's fine. When she recovers, I'll treat you to a meal."
Lance said a few more words before hanging up the phone.
Putting down his phone, he walked to the bedside and looked at the unconscious Deanna, his eyes filled with dark thoughts.
It seemed he needed to speed up finding the culprit. He didn't want today's incident to happen again.
As he was thinking, the door of the ward opened from the outside.
The Mercer family couple walked in and saw Deanna lying unconscious on the bed. They asked with concern, "What did the doctor say? Is she hurt anywhere?"
"Deanna isn't injured. She was just frightened and passed out."
Lance answered in a deep voice, recalling what the doctor had said.
During her fall, Deanna might have regained consciousness.
This suggested that the person behind this was malicious, wanting Deanna to watch herself die.
Logan and Samantha didn't know this. Hearing that Deanna was fine, they finally relaxed.
Then they asked, "What exactly happened? How did Deanna get hypnotized again? Didn't you already control her phone?"
"The specifics are still under investigation, but one thing is certain: this time, Deanna was targeted by someone she knows."
"Someone she knows?!"
Logan and Samantha were surprised by Lance's words and their expressions became serious.
Samantha asked, "Could it be someone from the Jones family?"
In her view, among the people Deanna knew, only those from the Jones family would wish harm upon her.
Lance understood his mother's implication and shook his head in denial. "Impossible. Those people aren't in contact with Deanna."
Hearing this, Logan and Samantha became even more puzzled.
If it wasn't someone from the Jones family, who else hated Deanna so much?
At this moment, Logan seemed to think of something. "Where is Deanna's phone? Check who made the last call to her, and you'll know who betrayed her."
"I thought of that already. But her phone was shattered during the fall. It will take a day to retrieve the call records from the telecommunications company."
Logan spoke calmly.
A day's time was something he could afford to wait for.
Moreover, it might not even take a day.
As they were talking, Eula pushed open the door and entered.
Seeing Logan and Samantha, she immediately put on a smile. "You are here too."
"Miss Eula."
Logan and Samantha nodded slightly, their expressions distant and polite.
A trace of disappointment flashed in Eula's eyes but she maintained her composure. Turning to Lance, she asked with concern, "How is Miss Jones? I was so worried that I came over."
"Thank you for your concern. Deanna is fine; she just fainted from fright."
Lance spoke indifferently.
Eula wasn't satisfied with hearing the same words as before on the phone.
Her eyes flickered as she couldn't help but bring up the subject again out of worry. "Why would Miss Jones jump off a building?"
She was met with Lance's warning gaze.
"Eula, you're crossing the line."
In other words, this was his private matter and Eula had no right to inquire about it.
Eula understood and her expression froze before she said aggrievedly, "Aren't we friends? As a friend, can't I care about your family?"
