Chapter 967: Miss Eula, Is It Fun?

Eula felt distressed. Deanna might know, but she would pretend not to.

She accompanied Lance on a walk in the garden.

The two little ones bounced around them, chatting and laughing.

This peaceful and warm scene was something Deanna cherished deeply.

She turned her head to look at the tall, handsome man beside her, her eyes filled with affection that seemed to drown him.

Lance enjoyed this gaze, looking back at her tenderly, and said with a smile, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I just want to look at you."

Deanna raised her eyebrows playfully, showing a girlish charm. "What, am I not allowed to look?"

Lance, seeing her coquettish manner, smiled even wider. "Of course you can. Look as long as you want."

"Ew-"

The two little ones made funny noises at their parents' lovey-dovey conversation.

Deanna and Lance turned to see their children's disgusted expressions.

"What are you 'ewing' about?"

In unison, they reached out and ruffled the children's hair.

Gregory and Chloe held their heads and escaped from their parents' hands, protesting loudly, "Who told Daddy and Mommy to corrupt us? If you're going to be lovey-dovey, do it away from us. It's hard enough growing up so well-behaved."

The two little ones sighed dramatically.

Deanna and Lance didn't know whether to laugh or be annoyed.

Just like that, the family started chasing and playing in the garden.

Eula stood by the third-floor window, her eyes dark as she watched the happy family below. Her grip on the curtain tightened until her knuckles turned white.

Why? Why did Deanna get all of Lance's tenderness? How long have they known each other?!

Jealousy burned in Eula's heart. She couldn't stand this glaring scene for another minute; she only wanted to destroy it.

With that thought, she lowered her eyes and turned towards the bathroom.

Not long after, a servant hurried into the garden.

"Mr. Mercer, Missus, something's wrong with Miss Eula."

At these words, the playful family immediately stopped and looked seriously at the servant.

Lance asked, "What happened to Eula?"

"Miss Eula fell in the bathroom. Her wound opened up and is bleeding heavily."

The servant reported truthfully.

Deanna and Lance's faces turned serious upon hearing this and they decided to go check on her.

But before leaving, they didn't forget to have the servant take the children back to their rooms.

The children were sensible; although worried about the auntie, they didn't insist on going along.

They knew it would only cause more chaos over there.

Indeed, the room was in chaos as Eula's bleeding worsened.

"What do we do? There's so much blood. It's scary."

"I don't dare go near her."

"Where is the Missus? Why isn't she here yet?"

The frightened servants only hoped their Missus would come quickly to save them.

Fortunately, Deanna and Lance arrived soon after.

Seeing the two of them and the worry on Lance's face, Eula felt that her fall was worth it.

"Lance, you're here. Your floor is too slippery; it hurts so much."

She spoke with a mix of coquettishness and complaint, looking pale as she gazed at Lance.

As for Deanna, she was completely ignored by Eula.

Deanna pursed her lips as she looked at the woman acting weak in front of her fiancé. Her feelings were complicated.

She knew Eula was trying to evoke sympathy from her fiancé, but there was nothing she could say.

"Lance, you should go out. I'll check Miss Eula's wound."

"Alright, I'll be outside. If you need anything, just let me know."

Lance agreed without hesitation.

Eula watched as the man she had finally attracted was about to leave. She couldn't bear it.

But before she could speak, Deanna interrupted her with a cold look. "I need to check your wound. It's not appropriate for Lance to stay here."

One sentence successfully shut Eula up.

She couldn't possibly ignore societal norms and keep him here in front of his fiancée.

If she did that, not only would Deanna see through her intentions, but the servants around would also change their view of her.

In her current situation, she couldn't let anyone see through her intentions.

Soon, only Deanna and a few servants remained in the room.

Seeing the torn wound, Deanna was sure it wasn't caused by a fall but by someone pulling it intentionally.

And it was obvious who that person was.

Because of this, Deanna's face turned very grim.

"Miss Eula, is this fun for you?"

She looked up coldly at Eula.

Eula knew Deanna had seen through her tricks and smiled brightly. "Of course it's fun. I've achieved my goal, haven't I?"

Hearing this, Deanna felt anger rising in her chest.

"Everyone out."
