Chapter 89 Shameless to the Extreme

Deanna's face turned cold at the words.

She knew the Jones family wouldn't be easy to deal with. They were indeed setting a trap for her here!

She sneered, "Are you trying to dismiss me as a beggar?"

Could Garrett really think that two million was a favor to her?

Garrett frowned, displeased with her impertinence.

"Two million is enough for you to live comfortably for a lifetime!" he snapped angrily, glaring at her. "I advise you, don't underestimate me!"

Deanna laughed in anger, looking at him fearlessly. "Two million? Over the years, with the dividends from those shares, it's not just hundreds of millions, at least seventy to eighty million. You're giving me two million?"

Did Garrett really think she was a fool?

Garrett's face darkened at her mockery.

He spoke, his voice low. "After your mother died, the shares were transferred to my name. Giving you this money now is already extra leniency. I advise you to be sensible and not be ungrateful!"

Deanna sneered. He was shameless indeed, still selfishly claiming what her mother left behind.

She scoffed, "Garrett, do you think I'm easily fooled? The shares under my mother's name must be transferred to mine after her death! You're illegally holding onto them, yet you act so righteous."

Her icy gaze swept over everyone.

Garrett, Emily, Raphael, and even Mia, who wasn't present, each one of them shamelessly wanted to take over the property her mother left for her!

Attorney Justin nodded beside her. "Legally speaking, those shares should indeed belong to Miss Jones."

Raphael didn't want to engage. He said irritably, "You have no evidence to prove this."

Olivia was already dead, there was no testimony. No one knew what her true intentions were.

Deanna glanced at Raphael. He was really naive.

She smiled, "No evidence if you say so? Maybe you don't know, but before my mother died, she left some evidence with my grandmother."

Her hand brushed over her full lips, a hint of cunning in her eyes.

The faces of the three opposite them changed immediately.

Garrett and Emily exchanged a glance, both reading confusion in each other's eyes.

Garrett thought he had covered all his tracks, but a glimmer of doubt flashed in his eyes. Could what she said be true?

Deanna calmly observed their reactions, kindly reminding them, "Though not complete, if I were to sue in court, it should be enough to cause you a lot of trouble."

Garrett remained composed, but Emily visibly panicked.

The Jones family was her biggest support.

If the Jones family fell or their reputation was tarnished, it would greatly affect her.

Raphael was clearly unhappy too. He married Emily for the backing of the Jones family.

Deanna said impatiently, "Enough talk. I won't let go of the shares. See you in court."

Neither the Jones family nor the Howard family were easy opponents. She didn't expect them to simply give up what they took.

The current situation didn't surprise her.

"How you cheated things away from me in the past, you'll return them exactly the same way!"

With that said, she gave them a sharp look.

She finally stopped teasing Raphael, snorted, and threw the documents at him like trash.

Ignoring Raphael's hostile gaze, she just got up and bowed to Attorney Justin. "Attorney Justin, I'll leave the rest to you."

Attorney Justin nodded silently, watching her leave.

Emily and Garrett, left behind, looked at each other in dismay. Raphael's face was almost black with anger.

He clenched the documents Deanna gave him tightly, wrinkling the corners.

After Deanna left, she went straight home.

On the way, she walked briskly and sent a message to Lance: "Mr. Mercer, thank you for your help."

Lance quickly replied, "Was everything smooth today?"

Deanna sighed, thinking for a moment before replying honestly, "Not exactly smooth, but at least I got back what rightfully belongs to me."
