Looking at the man in front of her, whose eyes were filled with tenderness, Bella bit her red lips and then turned her head away, not daring to meet his gaze.
"Let's go."
She urged him and quickly pulled him away.
Trystan watched her retreating figure, his eyes deep and unreadable.
A few minutes later, they sat down in a restaurant.
After ordering, Bella and Trystan sat in silence.
Trystan looked at Bella playing with the cutlery, raising his eyebrows slightly, and took the initiative to speak, "Bella, don't you have anything to say to me?"
"Uh... I heard that today there are important guests from Cloudmere at your company. Who are they?"
Bella asked casually, though she already knew the answer.
However, Trystan did not answer directly. He looked at her with a half-smile and replied, "You came from Cloudmere. You've been here for half a year now. Do you sometimes miss life in Cloudmere?"
Hearing this, Bella felt a sense of exhaustion.
For some reason, she could never quite understand this man in front of her.
Moreover, whenever she asked a question, it always ended up with him asking her something instead.
Even so, she had to suppress her frustration and anger.
After all, this man held the fate of the Cody family in his hands.
"It would be a lie to say I don't miss it. After all, I used to be the high and mighty young lady of the Cody family in Cloudmere."
Bella spoke half-truthfully.
She knew very well that only such words could gain trust.
Trystan believed her and smiled, "I see. In that case, I will work hard to restore you to your former status."
"We'll talk about the future later. You haven't told me who the two people from Cloudmere are."
Bella tried to steer the conversation back to Deanna and Lance.
Unbeknownst to her, her words made Trystan's smile freeze for a moment.
Then, Trystan picked up his wine glass and took a sip with a smile that didn't reach his eyes before slowly speaking, "You know very well who they are. Why, are you still pining for Lance?"
Bella's face froze instantly.
"What nonsense are you talking about?" She instinctively denied it.
Trystan watched her anxious denial, put down his wine glass heavily, and snorted coldly, "You know very well whether I'm talking nonsense or not."
Bella's face turned red with either anger or guilt.
Before she could think of what to say next, she heard his sinister voice again.
"You didn't mention this before, so I pretended not to know. Now that you've brought it up yourself, I'll make my stance clear so you know my bottom line."
Trystan paused deliberately before continuing, "First of all, I chose you. So I allow you to be presumptuous with me and am willing to help the Cody family rise again. But if your heart belongs to someone else while stringing me along, I won't hesitate to build a gilded cage and locked you inside!"
For some reason, Bella felt a chill down her spine after hearing this.
She looked at the man in front of her in horror and trembled as she called him a madman.
However, Trystan didn't care at all. He propped his chin up and looked at her with a wicked smile.
"Madman or pervert, you were the one who messed with me first. I can tolerate you using me but will never allow myself to be left with nothing. Understand?"
"Understood."
Perhaps intimidated by his menacing aura, Bella nodded submissively.
But as soon as she spoke, she couldn't hide her regret.
Especially when she thought of her unavenged grudge, she felt even more unwilling.
Finally, she gritted her teeth and looked at him fiercely. "If you want me, then help me get my revenge!"
Trystan chuckled lightly at this but didn't say whether he agreed or not.
His attitude left Bella unsure if he had agreed or not.
"What are you laughing at?" Bella clenched her fists and questioned him.
Trystan smirked. "You should know I'm a businessman. Businessmen value profit. If you want me to deal with someone backed by the Mercer family for you, shouldn't you give me something I need to make me willing to work for you?"
As he finished speaking, his gaze fell directly on Bella's chest.
Faced with such an obvious hint, Bella felt both ashamed and angry.
If it were before, she would have thrown her drink in his face and called security to beat him up.
But now, she couldn't do anything. Instead, his words even made her heart flutter.
Because she wanted revenge too much!
As if making a decision, Bella dug her nails into her palm and said in a low voice, "If you make Deanna suffer, tonight I am yours!"
